For $79 a month, Goodcall puts an AI agent on a small business’s phone line so callers stop landing in voicemail. The agent answers inbound calls with no cap on minutes, collects caller details, books appointments and follows up by text. Bob Summers, a former Google executive, started the company in 2021 and raised a $4 million seed round that year.

Goodcall is aimed at local businesses such as home services firms, clinics, retailers and restaurants that lose work whenever the phone rings out. It is a narrower product than developer-focused voice platforms, which keeps setup within reach of an owner without an engineering team.

How It Works

Owners build the agent around logic flows, which Goodcall calls skills. Each flow tells the agent what to ask and what to do for a given kind of call, such as taking a message, capturing a lead or booking a time slot. Starter includes one flow, Growth three and Scale 25. Calendar booking works with Google Calendar and Calendly, and the agent can send an SMS after the call.

A business keeps its existing number by forwarding unanswered or busy calls to its Goodcall number, and the setup also works with Google Voice. A Zapier connection can fire when a call ends or a flow finishes, and it can look up a caller in a CRM when the phone rings, which is how most CRM links are made.

Pricing

Goodcall publishes three self-serve plans, billed per agent: Starter at $79 a month for up to 100 unique customers, Growth at $129 for 250 and Scale at $249 for 500. Annual billing cuts those to roughly $66, $108 and $208 a month. Every plan includes unlimited minutes, and an Enterprise tier is quoted separately.

The cap is the part to model. A unique customer is a distinct phone number that actually talks to the agent; repeat calls from that number count once, while robocalls, blocked numbers and silent hang-ups do not count. Each customer above the cap costs $0.50, so a Starter account with 180 callers in a month would pay about $119. There is a 14-day free trial but no free plan.

What to Watch Out For

Because billing follows caller count, invoices move with busy and slow months, and a business with several locations usually needs an agent for each one, so costs stack. Starter keeps only seven days of call history. Goodcall describes its plans as multilingual without listing languages, and the pages we reviewed name only a few integrations directly. We found no published security certifications, so medical and legal offices should ask about data handling before forwarding calls. This entry is based on the vendor’s published information and third-party pricing reports, not hands-on testing.
