Clio Work launched in October 2025 at $199 per user per month, and Clio says 84% of the AI queries on it are now open-ended, goal-based requests rather than single commands. It is the legal AI workspace Clio built after acquiring legal research company vLex, combining vLex’s Vincent AI and a library of more than a billion legal documents with the matter data firms keep in Clio Manage.
Since April 2026 it can act on its own: a lawyer gives it a goal, and it works out and runs the steps.
How It Works
A lawyer types a goal such as building a defense strategy. Clio Work decides which of its legal skills to use, in what order, and runs them without the lawyer triggering each one. It shows its reasoning as it goes, and the lawyer can interrupt, redirect or refine the work mid-task. The capabilities apply to all users automatically, with no setup.
Clio Work analyzes documents and recordings, drafts summaries and timelines, sends docket alerts and handles litigation and transactional work, from pleadings, discovery and depositions to contracts and policies. Research draws on the vLex corpus, which covers more than 110 jurisdictions, and answers cite their authority. Connected to Clio Manage, it adds context from a matter’s documents, notes, deadlines and client communications. The Vincent by Clio app for iOS and Android lets lawyers upload and analyze filings on the go and pick up the same work on a desktop.
Pricing
Clio no longer lists a price for Clio Work; its pricing page asks firms to book a demo and also offers a free trial of unstated length. At launch it cost $199 per user per month and was available only to Clio Manage subscribers. In April 2026 Clio began selling it as a standalone product to solo, small and mid-sized firms, with a global rollout under way.
What to Watch Out For
A goal-driven agent can move fast, but lawyers remain responsible for every argument and citation it produces, so build review into the workflow. Firms that do not use Clio Manage get the research and drafting but not the deepest matter context. With prices now quote-based, compare the total cost against existing research subscriptions before switching.
