Lyro costs $39 a month on the Shopify App Store for up to 200 AI conversations, which makes it one of the cheapest ways for a small dropshipping store to put an agent on the front line. It answers questions and order-status requests in the shopper’s language and, on that plan, can edit or refund a Shopify order without leaving the chat.
Tidio, the company behind it, has sold live chat to Shopify merchants since 2014. Its app holds a 4.8 rating from more than 1,300 reviews.
How Lyro by Tidio Works
Lyro learns from your store’s own content. A website scraper pulls in shipping pages, return policies and FAQs, and you can add question-and-answer pairs. When a customer asks where a parcel is, Lyro reads the order from Shopify and replies. When a shopper lingers on a product page, it can open the conversation, suggest items that are in stock and drop them into the cart.
Order edits and refunds come through native Shopify actions. Lyro Actions and MCP connections reach other tools through their APIs, though Tidio’s documentation pitches those at more technical users. The same agent works across web chat, email, Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, and passes harder cases to a person in the Tidio inbox or mobile app. Tidio reports support for 48 languages with automatic detection.
For a dropshipper, the sweet spot is the repetitive stuff: delivery estimates, tracking links, sizing and return rules. Keep your shipping-time page accurate, because Lyro answers from what it can read.
Lyro by Tidio Pricing
The Shopify listing shows a free plan, a Customer Service plan at $29 a month, a Flows plan at $29 a month and the Lyro AI Chatbot plan at $39 a month or $390 a year. Each paid plan has a 7-day free trial. The free tier includes a small, one-time allowance of Lyro conversations, reportedly 50. Stores above about 1,000 conversations a month move to custom Plus or Premium plans, and branding removal is an extra add-on.
What to Watch Out For
Billing tracks conversation volume, so a viral product can push you into a bigger pack fast. Reviewers say the plan upgrades automatically near the cap and does not step back down.
Tidio says Lyro solves up to 67 percent of customer problems, but it counts a conversation as resolved when the shopper sends no follow-up within 15 minutes. Competitors’ reviews suggest planning for 40 to 60 percent. Lyro also answers only from documented content and has no voice channel, so phone-heavy stores will need another tool.
