Writesonic’s AI Article Writer works through three stages, research, structure and writing, to produce drafts of 1,500 to 2,500 words, reportedly in under two minutes. Its official plans start at $199 a month billed annually.
The company began around 2020 as a template-based copywriting tool, moved into SEO content in 2023 and added generative engine optimization, or GEO, in 2024. It now calls itself an AI visibility platform: it writes content and also tracks whether a brand shows up when people ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Google’s AI Overviews about a topic.
How It Works
A user gives the article writer a topic, and it researches the subject, builds an outline and writes a full draft, with scoring data from Semrush and Surfer SEO. Drafts can be published to WordPress. A separate SEO audit tool uses an AI agent to scan sites and suggest fixes.
The GEO module tracks brand mentions, citations and sentiment across AI search engines and shows which competitors get cited instead. On Enterprise plans, an Action Center ranks the fixes most likely to improve visibility. Chatsonic, Writesonic’s chat assistant, offers web search and a deep research mode, and the suite also includes an API and a browser extension.
Pricing
Writesonic’s help center lists a Basic plan at $249 a month, or $199 a month billed annually, with two users, 100 articles, 40 site audits and 100 tracked AI prompts. Growth costs $499 a month, or $399 annually, for five users, 200 articles, 60 audits, 200 prompts, sentiment analysis and AI search volume data. Enterprise is custom and adds the Action Center, SSO, a dedicated manager and tracking of more AI platforms. A limited free plan exists. Third-party reviews from earlier in 2026 list cheaper tiers from $39 a month, so confirm current plans at checkout.
What to Watch Out For
Reviewers on G2 and Reddit say output quality is uneven and drafts usually need real editing. Plan names on Writesonic’s own pages do not always match each other, which makes comparison shopping harder than it should be. Some users report intermittent failures when publishing to WordPress. A competitor’s review also notes that visibility reports show where a brand is mentioned but not always the source page or passage behind it, and that support on mid-tier plans is email only.
