A Pro subscription to HeyGen costs $49 a month and includes 1,000 credits. At the Video Agent rate reported after an October 2026 price change, 80 credits per minute, that is about 12.5 minutes of agent-made video a month. That figure frames most buying decisions for HeyGen Video Agent.
The agent takes a single prompt and returns a finished video with script, AI presenter, voiceover, captions, music and motion graphics. It suits marketing, training and sales teams producing short explainers and social clips. We did not test it hands-on; this review uses HeyGen’s published information and third-party reporting.
How It Works
You describe the video you want, for example a product explainer in a set tone and length. The agent writes the script, picks or builds visuals for each scene, adds an avatar presenter and voice, and handles pacing, transitions and subtitles. You then refine the result by chatting with it or opening it in HeyGen’s editor.
Since mid-2026, motion graphics are no longer pulled from a template library. The agent writes each graphic in code through HeyGen’s HyperFrames framework, and it can pull images from the web or generate its own media to build on.
The same agent runs inside ChatGPT and through an API, which developers can also call from Claude Code using HeyGen’s Skills. Paid plans cover more than 175 languages and dialects.
Pricing
The free plan allows three watermarked videos a month, each up to one minute, with trial-level access to Video Agent. Creator costs $29 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, with 600 credits. Pro is $49 a month with 1,000 credits and the fullest Video Agent access. Business costs $149 a month with 1,500 credits, SSO and $20 per extra seat. Enterprise pricing is custom.
Credits are HeyGen’s single currency, and the pricing page does not translate them into minutes. A pricing tracker reports that on October 15, 2026, standard Video Agent use rose from 30 to 80 credits per minute, and a higher-end mode from 90 to 240.
What to Watch Out For
Budget for usage, not just the subscription. At the reported rates, Creator’s 600 credits cover roughly 7.5 minutes of standard agent video. Heavy users will need top-ups or a larger plan. Avatar videos still need a human review for accuracy and brand tone, and SOC 2 status is not stated on the pricing page.
