Smartcat’s entry tier, Adapt, is reported at $1,200 a year, and every plan above it now goes through sales. For that, teams get a set of AI agents that translate, review and update content in more than 280 languages, with human linguists available when a job needs a second pair of eyes.
Smartcat says more than 1,000 companies use its platform, including a quarter of the Fortune 1000. It suits marketing, product and training teams that localize content continuously rather than one document at a time. This review relies on vendor statements and third-party listings; we did not test the product.
How It Works
Smartcat splits localization work among specialized agents. Reported roles include a Chief of Staff that coordinates jobs, a Content Translator, a Content Creator for new multilingual copy, a Reviewer, a Content Update agent that keeps translations in sync when source text changes, and a Quality Assurance agent. A no-code Agent Builder lets teams make their own, and a Skills Graph stores company terminology and style so output stays consistent.
The agents pull content from where it already lives. Listed connectors include Figma, Google Docs, WordPress and WPML, Jira, Git and Bitbucket, Contentful and Salesforce, with an API for anything else. The platform also handles OCR on PDFs and images, AI quality scoring, subtitles, transcription and AI voiceovers. When a job needs human review, companies can bring in linguists from Smartcat’s marketplace inside the same workflow.
Pricing
Smartcat moved to four tiers in July 2026: Adapt, Accelerate, Anticipate and Autonomous. Adapt is reported at $100 a month, billed annually. Accelerate and Anticipate were listed at $24,000 and $60,000 a year until late October 2026, when both switched to contact-sales pricing, according to pricing trackers. Autonomous has always been custom.
Each tier includes an allowance of Smartwords, Smartcat’s usage unit, plus a set number of workspaces. There is no free plan, but a 15-day trial with 15,000 Smartwords is reported on every tier.
What to Watch Out For
Pricing has moved often. Plan names, Smartword allowances and trial terms all changed several times in 2026, so get a written quote that spells out usage limits and overage terms.
The Reviewer and Quality Assurance agents are reported to be missing from the lower tiers, which matters for regulated or customer-facing content. Machine output in less common languages still needs spot checks by fluent reviewers. SOC 2 Type II is reported by a third-party listing; ask for the report during procurement.
