OTTO SEO by Search Atlas Score

Our editorial score across six weighted criteria, based on OTTO SEO by Search Atlas’s published documentation, pricing and public user ratings. How we score

  • Autonomy8.0

OTTO deploys fixes automatically and keeps re-crawling, and Search Atlas case studies show 2,102 of 2,107 and 3,886 of 3,989 fixes deployed, though strategy and content still need people.

  • Ease of Setup7.0

Installs through a WordPress or Shopify plugin or Google Tag Manager with a 30-minute onboarding session, but reviewers describe a learning curve in the feature-heavy dashboard.

  • Pricing Value6.5

Prices are published from $99 a month or $79 annually with OTTO included, but there is no free plan, credits are consumed across tools and extra OTTO sites cost more.

  • Integrations7.5

Connects to WordPress, Shopify, Google Tag Manager, Search Console, Analytics, Business Profile, Google and Meta Ads, Slack, Teams and ClickUp.

  • Trust and Security5.0

Offers approval mode, Deep Freeze and a data privacy agreement, but no SOC 2 or ISO certification is listed and pixel changes sit outside the CMS.

  • User Sentiment7.5

Ratings of 4.7 from 88 Capterra and 4.6 from 164 G2 reviews, pulled down by 3.9 from 360 Trustpilot reviews and complaints about credits and a learning curve.

OTTO SEO is the agent inside Search Atlas that audits a website and then deploys technical and on-page fixes itself, through a JavaScript pixel or a WordPress or Shopify plugin, without waiting on a developer. In two of Search Atlas’s own case studies, OTTO deployed 2,102 of 2,107 recommended fixes for a law firm and 3,886 of 3,989 for a dental practice. It suits agencies and in-house marketers who have a backlog of SEO fixes and little developer time. The main catch is that changes served by the pixel live outside your CMS, so they are only as durable as the script.

OTTO comes with every Search Atlas plan, from $99 a month or $79 a month billed annually for one site. Higher plans add AI visibility tracking across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode and, on Pro, Copilot, Perplexity and Claude. Search Atlas says more than 5,000 agencies use it. This review is based on Search Atlas’s published pricing, help center and announcements as of October 2026; we have not tested it hands-on.

Key Takeaways

  • Starting price: Starter is $99 a month or $79 billed annually (about $950 a year) for one OTTO site; Growth $199, Pro $399, Agency from $999. No free plan; a 7-day trial with onboarding.
  • Fixes at volume: Search Atlas case studies report OTTO deploying 2,102 of 2,107 fixes across 179 pages for an FDA regulatory law firm, alongside 2.6x AI visibility and 4.5x Google clicks.
  • GEO built in: Growth and above track brand visibility in AI answers from ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode; Pro adds Copilot, Perplexity and Claude.
  • Control options: Changes deploy automatically by default, but an approval mode holds them for sign-off, and Deep Freeze keeps fixes in place after cancellation.
  • Our score: 7.1/10, high for autonomy, held back by credit-based pricing, a 3.9 Trustpilot score and no listed security certification.

OTTO SEO by the Numbers

Search Atlas is privately held and built by the team behind the LinkGraph agency. It does not publish funding or revenue, so the strongest evidence comes from its case studies, awards and company announcements. Each item below was checked on the source page.

The fix counts are the most useful numbers here. They show what OTTO is built to do: work through thousands of small technical and on-page issues across a site faster than a team filing developer tickets. The deployment rates in both case studies are above 97%, which suggests that once the pixel is in place, most recommendations ship.

Read the outcome metrics with care. Every case study is published by Search Atlas, most give no timeframe or baseline, and several anonymize the client. The 5,000-agency figure on the About page and the 2,000 agency partners in the January 2026 release likely measure different things. They show a large agency user base, not independent proof of ranking gains.

How OTTO SEO by Search Atlas Works

OTTO is the action layer of the Search Atlas suite. The rest of the platform finds problems, tracks rankings and writes content; OTTO decides which on-site fixes to apply and applies them.

Setup Steps

  1. Start a plan or trial. Every plan includes OTTO; the trial comes with a 30-minute onboarding session.
  2. Install OTTO on the site. WordPress and Shopify connect through a plugin. Webflow, Wix and other platforms add the snippet through Google Tag Manager.
  3. Connect Google data. Link Google Search Console, Google Analytics and Google Business Profile so OTTO can prioritize pages and track results.
  4. Run the audit. OTTO crawls the site and builds a list of technical and on-page issues.
  5. Choose a mode. Leave automatic deployment on, or switch to approval mode so each change waits for sign-off.
  6. Monitor. OTTO keeps re-crawling and repairing pages in what Search Atlas calls self-healing loops.

What It Does Alone and What Needs You

On its own, OTTO handles the repetitive layer of SEO: the technical and on-page issues its audit finds, deployed in bulk across every affected page. In the dental practice case study, it crawled 177 pages weekly. Plans also include Google Business Profile automations, from 3 on Starter to 100 on Agency, which is where the local map-pack results in the case studies come from.

What still needs people: strategy, content quality, link building judgment and any change that requires real code, such as site speed work on the server or template redesigns. Search Atlas’s content tools draft articles, but someone should edit them before publishing. And because pixel-based changes are applied in the browser rather than in your CMS, your developers will not see them in the codebase unless you export them.

GEO and AI Visibility

Search Atlas now pitches the suite as an engine for both SEO and generative engine optimization (GEO). The LLM Visibility tool tracks how often and how favorably a brand appears in AI answers. Starter includes one project with one AI provider; Growth covers ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode; Pro adds Copilot, Perplexity and Claude. Search Atlas backs the pitch with published research on how visibility shifts between classic search and AI answers across 61 industries. OTTO’s on-page fixes are the main lever it uses to try to improve those AI citations, as in the dental practice case study that moved from #13 to #3 in AI answers.

Beyond OTTO

The same subscription includes Atlas Agent, keyword research, rank tracking, site audits, backlink tools, content writing, Google and Meta ad management (Growth and above) and an AI press release service built on the Signal Genesys acquisition. Pro and Agency add white-label dashboards and client portals. That breadth is why many reviewers say the platform replaces several tools, and also why newer users describe a learning curve.

OTTO SEO by Search Atlas Pricing

Based on Search Atlas’s pricing page and help center, plans differ by seats, OTTO sites, credits and AI visibility coverage. Annual billing takes 20% off and does not change quotas.

What It Costs in Practice

One business website. Starter covers one OTTO site. Paid monthly, it is $1,188 a year; billed annually it is about $950, a saving of roughly $238.

Small agency with four client sites. Pro covers four OTTO sites and five seats, with white-label reporting. That is $4,788 a year paid monthly or $3,828 billed annually. Per client site, the annual price works out to $957 a year, about $80 a month.

Agency with ten client sites. The Agency plan is $11,988 a year for ten OTTO sites, about $1,199 per site per year. An agency billing each client even a modest monthly retainer for technical SEO would cover that quickly, which is the economics Search Atlas is selling.

Hidden and variable costs. Universal Credits are consumed by content, audits and other tools, and some reviewers dislike the credit model. Adding OTTO sites beyond a plan’s allowance costs extra. Ad management, content writing and PR distribution all draw on the same plan, so heavy use of one area can squeeze another.

OTTO SEO Compared With Alli AI, Writesonic and Semrush Copilot

These are the tools buyers most often compare with OTTO. The split is between tools that deploy fixes on the site and tools that only recommend or write.

ToolStarting PriceFree PlanMain StrengthMain WeaknessBest For
OTTO SEO$99 a month, or $79 billed annuallyNo (7-day trial)Deploys technical and on-page fixes automatically, with GEO tracking in the same suitePixel changes live outside the CMS; credit-based plansAgencies clearing SEO backlogs across many sites
Alli AIReported $299 a monthNo (10-day trial)Deploys on-page changes across many sites through its snippetHigher entry price; AI agent still in betaAgencies on CMSs where code changes are slow
Writesonic$79 a month billed annuallyNo (free AI search report)AI visibility tracking plus article writing in one planRecommends and writes rather than deploying site fixesContent-led teams focused on AI search
Semrush CopilotIncluded with Semrush plans; Pro listed at $139.95 a monthLimited free Semrush versionPrioritized SEO recommendations drawn from Semrush’s large data setSuggests tasks; does not change your siteTeams already paying for Semrush

OTTO and Alli AI are the two that actually change pages, and OTTO is the cheaper way in for a single site. Writesonic is the better fit when the main goal is AI search visibility and content output rather than technical fixes. Semrush Copilot is a free extra for Semrush subscribers that tells you what to fix, but someone still has to fix it. See our SEO AI agents guide for more options.

Who Should Use OTTO SEO

  • Agencies with many client sites: Pro and Agency plans cover four to ten OTTO sites with white-label reporting; see our agency agents page.
  • Marketing teams without developer time: fixes ship through a plugin or pixel instead of a ticket queue.
  • Local businesses and their agencies: the case studies with the clearest timeframes are local map-pack wins delivered in three to five weeks.
  • Brands tracking AI search: Growth and Pro bundle GEO tracking across up to six AI engines with the tools to act on it.
  • Teams consolidating tools: keyword research, audits, content, ads and PR sit in one subscription, a point reviewers praise. More options are on our marketing agents page.

Who Should Skip OTTO SEO

  • Teams with strict change control: if every site change must go through the CMS or code review, script-applied fixes will clash with that process.
  • Content-first marketers: if technical SEO is already in good shape, Writesonic or a content tool may give more for the money.
  • Existing Semrush power users: Copilot’s recommendations come free with the subscription you already pay for, though they do not deploy fixes.
  • Buyers who want simple, flat pricing: credits, site allowances and add-ons make the true monthly cost harder to predict.

What to Watch Out For

  • Fixes live in a script layer: pixel-served changes do not appear in your CMS or codebase. Deep Freeze keeps them after cancellation, but plan how you would move them into the source if you ever leave.
  • Auto-deploy is the default: start in approval mode on important sites until you trust OTTO’s changes.
  • Trial and refund terms: the 7-day trial converts to a paid plan, and the refund policy sits on a separate page; cancel before day seven if you are only testing.
  • Mixed company reviews: Search Atlas scores 4.6 on G2 and 4.7 on Capterra but 3.9 on Trustpilot from 360 reviews, where billing and support complaints weigh more heavily.
  • Vendor-reported outcomes: traffic and visibility gains come from Search Atlas’s own case studies, most without baselines or timeframes. Set your own success measures for a pilot.
  • Fast product changes: reviewers mention occasional bugs as the platform evolves, usually fixed quickly.

Recent News

On January 2, 2026, Search Atlas added USA Today, MarketWatch and AP News placements to its AI PR platform, linking press outreach to its SEO tools and citing more than 2,000 agency partners. In October 2026 its help center pricing overview confirmed the current plans: Starter at $99, Growth at $199, Pro at $399 and Agency from $999 a month, with 20% off for annual billing.

Earlier, Search Atlas acquired Signal Genesys, an AI press release distribution service, on August 12, 2024, and won Best SEO Global Software Suite at the 2024 Global Search Awards in September 2024.

Is OTTO SEO Worth It? Our Verdict

For agencies and marketing teams with a pile of technical SEO fixes and no developer time, yes. OTTO SEO scores 7.1/10 on our scale. It is one of the few SEO tools that applies fixes rather than listing them, and Search Atlas’s own case studies show it deploying more than 97% of recommended fixes on sites with hundreds of pages. At $79 a month billed annually for one site, it costs less than Alli AI, its closest rival on automatic deployment, and it bundles AI visibility tracking that standalone GEO tools charge for separately.

The score is held back by pricing complexity, the risks of script-applied changes, a weaker Trustpilot rating and no listed security certification. Start in approval mode on one site, compare Search Console data before and after 60 to 90 days, and only then switch on automatic deployment or add client sites. Compare more options in our SEO agents guide.

OTTO SEO FAQ

How Much Does OTTO SEO Cost?

OTTO is included in every Search Atlas plan. Starter is $99 a month or $79 billed annually for one OTTO site, Growth is $199 or $159 for two, Pro is $399 or $319 for four, and Agency starts at $999 a month for ten.

Is There a Free Plan or Trial?

There is no free plan. Starter, Growth and Pro come with a 7-day trial and a free 30-minute onboarding session, and the trial converts to a paid plan unless you cancel.

Is OTTO SEO Safe for My Website?

OTTO changes pages through a pixel or plugin and deploys automatically by default. Approval mode lets you review each change first, and Deep Freeze keeps fixes in place after cancellation. Test on one site and keep a record of what was changed.

Is OTTO SEO Better Than Alli AI?

Both deploy on-page fixes without developers. OTTO starts lower, at $79 a month billed annually for one site, and includes AI visibility tracking and a full SEO suite. Alli AI is reported to start at $299 a month for five sites, which can suit agencies focused only on on-page deployment.

What Can’t OTTO SEO Do?

It does not replace SEO strategy, content editing or link-building judgment, and it cannot make server-side or template changes. Pixel-served fixes also do not write back into your CMS.
