alfred_ Score

Our editorial score across six weighted criteria, based on alfred_’s published documentation, pricing and public user ratings. How we score

  • Autonomy8.5

alfred_ triages and archives mail, drafts replies, tracks follow-ups, finds meeting times and runs scheduled routines on its own, and every send and invitation waits for approval.

  • Ease of Setup9.3

Setup is three self-serve steps with Google or Microsoft sign-in, and the first email is usually processed within minutes, with a 7-day trial.

  • Pricing Value8.5

Prices are published from $29.99 a month with a 17% annual discount and six accounts included; there is no free plan and usage is metered in credits.

  • Integrations9.3

It connects Gmail, Outlook, IMAP, three calendar types, Slack, Teams, HubSpot, Salesforce and 30+ tools, plus an MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor.

  • Trust and Security8.3

alfred_ documents OAuth-only access, AES-256 encryption, user-level isolation, approval before any send and no training on data; naming a certification would strengthen this.

  • User Sentiment7.5

No public ratings yet; neutral score.

alfred_ is an AI executive assistant for people whose inboxes have outgrown them. It reads up to six Gmail or Outlook accounts as a single list, flags what needs an answer, drafts replies in your voice, tracks who owes you a response, books and moves meetings and sends a morning brief by text. It is best for owners, consultants, investors and executives juggling several accounts. It is careful by design: nothing goes out until you approve it, so it saves typing and remembering while you keep control of the inbox.

Starter costs $29.99 a month, or $299.99 a year, with up to six accounts and 2,000 monthly credits included. We rate it 8.6/10 on our scale. We have not used it hands-on; this review is based on alfred_’s website, pricing page and published product summary.

  • Our score: 8.6/10, strong on setup and integrations, with room to grow through clearer credit use, a named certification and public reviews.

The six-account limit is the standout number. By comparison, Inbox Zero’s Starter plan covers one account and its Plus plan two, so someone running several companies or client inboxes pays once here instead of stacking plans. That is why the $29.99 entry price compares well against single-inbox tools for this kind of user.

The approval rule is the other number that matters: zero sends without you. For many executives that is a feature, since a wrong reply to an investor or client costs more than the minutes saved. People who want an assistant that answers routine mail on its own may want an auto-send option, which alfred_ does not offer today.

Talking to alfred_ by App, Text, Slack or MCP

alfred_ works around your existing mail and calendar apps. You talk to it through its web and iPhone apps, by text message, in Slack or Teams, or through AI tools connected to its MCP server.

Connecting Gmail or Outlook and the Rest of Your Tools

  1. Connect email: sign in with Google or Microsoft for Gmail or Outlook, up to six accounts. alfred_ never sees your password.
  2. Add tools: calendars, files, Slack, your CRM and any of 30+ other apps.
  3. Describe a routine: say in one sentence what you want done on a schedule, and alfred_ runs it and reports what it found.

The first email is usually processed within minutes of setup, according to alfred_.

Triage, Draft Replies and Scheduling Without Prompting

  • Triage: flags mail that needs a reply, keeps a list of replies you owe, and moves newsletters, promotions, notifications and shipping updates to Archive. Nothing is deleted.
  • Drafts: writes replies in your voice and leaves them for review.
  • Follow-ups: tells you who still owes you a reply, and a Monday routine rounds them up with a follow-up ready for each.
  • Tasks: suggests tasks from your email for you to accept.
  • Calendar: finds open time, prepares you for meetings from email, calendar and notes, and schedules, moves or cancels meetings once approved.
  • Briefs: a morning brief by text covers meetings, tasks due, replies owed and drafts waiting, with an optional email version and summaries of a client, project or week on request.

Every Reply and Invite Waits for Your Approval

You approve every reply and every invitation. You also decide which routines run and what they cover, and you accept or reject suggested tasks. Through the MCP server, outside AI tools can work with your mail and calendar, but alfred_ says they cannot delete email, events or tasks.

Routines

Routines are alfred_’s way of turning a recurring chore into an instruction. The Monday follow-up roundup is one example the company describes. Because routines are written in plain language and run on a schedule, they suit work such as weekly client summaries, chasing unpaid invoices from a finance inbox or preparing a list of meetings that need an agenda.

Teams and Coordinators

The Team plan adds team analytics, a management console, shared skills and rules, and a coordinator option for client email, so an assistant or operations lead can work across a group’s mail under one company bill.

Getting a Real Read in Seven Days

Seven days is short for an assistant that learns your voice, so set the trial up on day one and use it every day.

  • Connect every account: the six-account allowance is the main reason to choose alfred_, so test it with your real mix of inboxes.
  • Read the morning brief daily: judge whether it surfaces the replies and meetings that actually matter.
  • Count light-edit drafts: note how many drafts you send with small changes versus rewriting.
  • Write two routines: one for follow-ups and one for a weekly summary, then check whether they run and report as described.
  • Check the archive: look through what was filed away for anything you needed to see.
  • Watch credits: note how much of the allowance a normal week uses before choosing a plan.

Where It Fits With Other Tools

alfred_ is designed to sit across the tools you already use rather than replace them. You keep reading mail in Gmail or Outlook if you prefer, while alfred_ works in the background and reports by text, Slack or Teams. Its MCP server lets you call it from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex or VS Code, which suits people who already work inside an AI tool all day. On the business side, HubSpot and Salesforce connections from Starter let it bring CRM context into drafts and briefs, and links to Notion, Asana, Jira, Linear, Stripe and QuickBooks widen what a routine can check.

Starter, Pro and Team Seats Compared

alfred_ publishes three plans. All include up to six accounts per person, a 7-day trial and the same security and no-training terms.

PlanPriceBillingWhat’s IncludedLimits
Starter$29.99 per month; $25 per month annuallyMonthly or annualUp to 6 accounts, 2,000 credits, Slack, Teams, HubSpot, Salesforce, routines and workflowsCredit allowance
Pro$44.99 per month; $37.50 per month annuallyMonthly or annualStarter plus white-glove onboarding, customization by the team, personal analytics, weekly report, priority support, 4,000 creditsCredit allowance
Team$49.99 per seat per month; $41.67 annuallyMonthly or annualPro for each person plus team analytics, management console, shared skills and rules, coordinator option, 5,000 credits per seatFrom 2 seats

Annual billing saves 17%. The trial needs a card but you are not charged until it ends, and you can cancel any time with no fees. Moving down a plan takes effect at the next renewal.

A Consultant With Four Client Inboxes Does the Math

A consultant with four client inboxes. Starter covers all four accounts for $359.88 a year on monthly billing or $299.99 a year on annual billing.

A founder who wants setup help. Pro costs $539.88 a year monthly or $450 a year annually, and adds white-glove onboarding and a weekly report.

A four-person leadership team. Team costs $2,399.52 a year on monthly billing or $2,000.16 on annual billing, with 5,000 credits per seat and shared rules.

Hidden and variable costs. Work is metered in credits, with 2,000 a month on Starter and 4,000 on Pro. Heavy users should watch usage in the first weeks and decide whether Pro’s larger allowance is needed.

alfred_ Compared With Fyxer, Howie and Lindy

These assistants overlap with alfred_ on email, scheduling or both, but each leans in a different direction.

ToolStarting PriceFree PlanMain StrengthMain Trade-OffBest For
alfred_$29.99 per monthNoSix inboxes, calendar control, briefs and routines in one planCredit metering; no named certificationOwners and consultants with several accounts
Fyxer$22.50 per user per month (annual)NoDrafts and sorting inside Gmail and Outlook plus meeting notesNarrower calendar and task featuresTeams that want AI drafts in their current inbox
Howie$25 per monthNoBooks meetings by email like a human assistantScheduling onlyPeople who book many meetings by email
Lindy$49.99 per user per monthLimitedBuild many custom agents for email, meetings and workflowsMore setup and higher priceTeams that want a configurable assistant platform

alfred_ sits between the focused tools and the platforms. Fyxer is cheaper for one inbox, Howie is the specialist for scheduling, and Lindy is more flexible but costs more and takes more setup. For a premium email client instead of an assistant, see Superhuman Mail. More choices are on our email agents and scheduling agents pages.

The choice often comes down to scope. If you mainly want help writing replies in one inbox, a cheaper drafting tool will do. If your problem is keeping track of commitments across several inboxes, calendars and client accounts, alfred_ covers more of it in one subscription.

Consultants, Founders and Anyone Juggling Several Inboxes

  • People with several inboxes: six accounts are included on every plan.
  • Owners and consultants: the site’s testimonials come from roles such as a solo consultancy owner, a venture partner and a cleaning company CEO.
  • Executives away from a desk: the morning brief arrives by text and alfred_ works in Slack, Teams and on iPhone.
  • CRM-driven roles: HubSpot and Salesforce are included from Starter.

Light Email Users and SOC 2 Buyers May Want Other Options

  • Light email users: one quiet inbox does not need a $30-a-month assistant.
  • Companies that require SOC 2 reports: the pricing page lists encryption and OAuth but no certification.
  • People who want replies sent automatically: every send needs approval.
  • Buyers who rely on reviews: there are no ratings on major review sites yet.

Credit Allowances Are the Main Thing to Measure

Credits are the main thing to measure. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of credits that the assistant’s work draws on. Track usage in the trial and ask support how credits are consumed before committing to annual billing; a published credit guide would help here.

Security documentation is lighter than at larger vendors, and a named certification would help. alfred_ lists AES-256 encryption, OAuth 2.0, user-level isolation, GDPR-friendly practices and a no-training policy. Larger organizations can ask for a security questionnaire, a data processing agreement and details of which AI model providers process mail.

Plan for review time. Because alfred_ never sends without approval, the value comes from triage, drafts, reminders and briefs. Set aside a few minutes each morning to clear the draft queue, or the backlog moves from your inbox to alfred_’s.

The MCP server widens access. Connecting Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor lets those tools read and act on your mail and calendar, within alfred_’s limits. Review what each connected tool is allowed to do.

Team rollouts need a little more care. The coordinator option on the Team plan lets one person work across client email, which is useful for agencies and assistants, but agree in advance who approves drafts on behalf of whom, and how shared skills and rules are kept up to date when people join or leave.

Worth a Week for People Juggling Busy Calendars

For people running several inboxes and a busy calendar, yes, it is worth a trial. alfred_ scores 8.6/10 on our scale. It covers more of the job than most email tools, from triage and drafts to follow-ups, scheduling and a daily brief, it includes six accounts in one plan, and it connects to a long list of business tools.

Clearer credit guidance, a named security certification and public reviews would lift the score. Start the 7-day trial with all your accounts connected, use the morning brief every day, and count how many drafts you send with light edits. If one inbox is all you need, Fyxer costs less.
