More than 18,000 travelers set up Mindtrip’s Personal Travel Assistant during its beta, according to the company, which launched the feature on September 30, 2026. The Palo Alto startup, founded in 2023, uses conversational AI to plan trips, watch prices and book flights, stays and restaurants. Its web platform and iOS app are reported to be free for travelers.

How It Works

Travelers describe a trip in plain language and Mindtrip returns an itinerary with maps, photos and reviews that can be edited and shared with a group. A feature called Start Anywhere builds a plan from a photo, a social media post or a PDF, and a Receipts tool collects forwarded booking confirmations and tracks spending by category.

The Personal Travel Assistant keeps context between trips, including preferred airline and hotel programs, companions, budgets and past journeys. Users can set agents to watch for price drops, flight changes or restaurant availability and send alerts. Since May 2026, Mindtrip Flights has let travelers search, compare and pay for flights inside the chat, using Sabre’s APIs and PayPal checkout. Stays, restaurants and experiences can also be booked, with partners reported to include Priceline, Tripadvisor and Viator. Tourism boards embed a version of the assistant on their own websites. The company is led by founder and chief executive Andy Moss, and its team previously worked at companies including Apple, Google and LinkedIn.

Pricing

Mindtrip’s own pages do not show a price, and a third-party listing reports that the web platform and iOS app are free, with revenue coming from booking partnerships. Destination marketing organizations sign separate contracts for embedded versions, and those terms are not published.

What to Watch Out For

Mindtrip says it is not an airline, hotel or other supplier, so changes, cancellations and refunds may depend on the company behind a booking. Its site links to an iOS app but not an Android app. Engagement figures from the beta, such as users being three times more likely to create a trip, are self-reported. PayPal’s pay-later options at flight checkout are subject to approval and PayPal’s own terms.
