IQVIA says 19 of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies have started building its AI agents into their workflows, and more than 150 of those agents are now running across IQVIA’s own teams and client environments. IQVIA.ai, launched at NVIDIA GTC in March 2026, gathers them into one platform with a conversational front end and a catalog of ready-made and configurable agents for clinical, commercial and real-world evidence work.
It is best for large sponsors that already license IQVIA data or use its clinical and commercial services. Access runs through IQVIA: pricing is not published, there is no self-serve option yet, and the published performance numbers come from IQVIA and NVIDIA. We rate IQVIA.ai 7.5/10 on our scale. We have not used the platform; this review is based on IQVIA press releases and NVIDIA’s published account of the agents.
150 Agents in Use at 19 of the Top 20 Drugmakers
- IQVIA says more than 150 agents are deployed across its teams and client environments, and 19 of the top 20 pharma companies have begun using them.
- NVIDIA reported in June 2025 that IQVIA’s clinical data review agents cut review from seven weeks to as little as two.
- The agents use a supervisor and sub-agent design built on NVIDIA tooling, with human experts kept in the loop.
- There is no public pricing; access comes through IQVIA enterprise agreements.
- We rate IQVIA.ai 7.5/10: powerful for existing IQVIA customers, and not yet offered as a self-serve tool.
Data Scale, Pharma Ties and the NVIDIA Partnership
IQVIA’s scale is the main argument for its agents: a very large data business, deep relationships with top pharma and a close technical partnership with NVIDIA.

The adoption figure is the most striking number, and it is best read for what it shows. Saying 19 of the top 20 pharma companies have begun incorporating agents shows reach rather than depth, and IQVIA already sells data or services to almost all of them. Ask for references in your therapeutic area and function.
The time savings are concrete enough to test. If your clinical data review cycles really run about seven weeks, a pilot can show quickly whether the two-week figure holds on your studies, your data standards and your review rules.
The NVIDIA partnership adds a different kind of signal. The two companies announced it in January 2025, showed the first agents at GTC Paris that June and launched IQVIA.ai at GTC in March 2026. That cadence suggests a steady build rather than a one-off demo, and it means the agents use tooling that NVIDIA itself supports and updates.
A Natural-Language Hub With a Catalog of Agents
IQVIA.ai is a hub that combines automation, analytics and decision support. Users talk to it in natural language and pick from a catalog of agents. Under the hood, IQVIA uses an orchestrator pattern that NVIDIA described in June 2025.
Supervisors and Sub-Agents
A supervisor agent receives a task, breaks it down and sends pieces to specialized sub-agents. Those sub-agents handle jobs such as speech-to-text transcription, clinical coding, structured data extraction and data summarization. Human experts stay in the loop to check outputs and make decisions. NeMo Guardrails is used to safeguard deployment, and NeMo Customizer to fine-tune models on IQVIA’s healthcare data.
Clinical Agents
- Trial start-up: sub-agents analyze trial protocols and extract participant inclusion and exclusion criteria, a slow manual step in a start-up phase that often takes about 200 days.
- Clinical data review: automated checks and specialized agents catch data issues early, which NVIDIA said cut review from seven weeks to as little as two.
- Target identification: agents build a knowledge base from research articles and biomedical databases to surface relationships, prioritize indications and spot drug repurposing opportunities.
Commercial Agents
- Patient journey analysis: agents work through patient records, prescriptions and lab results in a few days instead of several weeks.
- Field companion: sales teams get near real-time briefings before provider meetings, based on physician demographics, digital behavior, prescribing patterns and patient dynamics.
- Market assessment and HCP engagement: listed by IQVIA among the first use cases for its agents.
Privacy and Safeguards
IQVIA says the platform operates securely and in line with healthcare regulatory, privacy and quality standards, and that it uses privacy-enhancing technologies and safeguards when working with health data. It frames its AI around privacy, regulatory compliance and patient safety. On the technical side, NeMo Guardrails sits between the models and users to control what agents can say and do in deployment. Buyers in regulated functions should agree data residency, access controls and audit records for their own deployment in the contract.
What IQVIA and NVIDIA Say
Bernd Haas, IQVIA’s senior vice president for AI and technology solutions, presented IQVIA.ai as a way of turning research into practical tools with high impact. Kimberly Powell, NVIDIA’s vice president of healthcare and life sciences, argued that the volume and complexity of life sciences data have outgrown traditional research methods. Avinob Roy, who leads commercial analytics product offerings at IQVIA, described the agents as bringing new precision and efficiency to the industry. All three are vendor voices, so treat them as positioning rather than evidence.
Scoped Deployments Through an IQVIA Account Team
IQVIA does not describe a self-serve onboarding path. The agents run in IQVIA’s environment and in client environments, so deployment starts with an IQVIA account team, a scoped use case and decisions about which IQVIA data and which of your own systems the agents will use. IQVIA said its initial release was available at launch and that more agents and capabilities would follow in the fourth quarter.
Clinical Teams Still Sign Off on Agent Summaries
IQVIA and NVIDIA both describe human experts as part of the loop. Agents extract criteria, flag data issues and summarize, but a clinical team still signs off on protocols and data, and sales teams still decide what to do with a briefing. Any output used in a regulatory submission needs the same review it would have had before.
Enterprise Agreements Bundled With Data and Services
IQVIA does not publish prices for IQVIA.ai. Contracts are enterprise agreements, and agents often sit alongside IQVIA data licenses, technology products or clinical services.
| Plan | Price | Billing | What’s Included | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| IQVIA.ai platform | Not published | Enterprise agreement | Conversational interface and catalog of ready-to-use and configurable agents | Sales-led access only |
| Agents in client environments | Not published | Enterprise agreement | Agents deployed into a sponsor’s own workflows | Scope set per contract |
| IQVIA data and services | Not published | Separate contracts | The healthcare data and services the agents draw on | Licensed separately |
Measuring the Review Hours the Agents Would Replace
Without public prices, the best way to size a deal is to measure the work the agents would replace. The scenarios below use IQVIA and NVIDIA’s published time figures with our own illustrative volumes.
- A sponsor running six data review cycles a year: moving each cycle from seven weeks to two removes five weeks of elapsed time per cycle, or 30 weeks a year across the portfolio, if the vendor figure holds on your studies.
- A commercial analytics team: if a patient journey analysis takes four weeks by hand and a few days with agents, ten analyses a year could free roughly 35 weeks of analyst time, assuming about half a week each with agents.
- A study start-up group: criteria extraction is one piece of a start-up phase that often runs about 200 days, so savings there should be judged against the full timeline, not just the extraction step.
Other costs to plan for include the underlying IQVIA data licenses, internal validation of agent outputs, and IT and security work to deploy agents into your own environment.

Top Pharma Sponsors Already Contracting With IQVIA
- Top pharma sponsors already working with IQVIA: the agents draw on data and services you may already pay for.
- Clinical operations teams with slow data review: the published seven-to-two-week figure is a clear benchmark to test.
- Commercial analytics groups: patient journey analysis and field briefings target work that usually takes weeks.
- Companies standardized on NVIDIA tooling: the agents use the same NVIDIA stack many enterprise AI teams already know.
- Global organizations: IQVIA operates in more than 100 countries, which helps when agents must support studies and field teams across regions.
Small Biotechs and Buyers Needing a Rate Card
- Small biotechs without IQVIA contracts: there is no self-serve entry point, and the data advantage depends on licensing IQVIA assets.
- Buyers who need published prices: every agreement is negotiated.
- Bench scientists wanting an experiment assistant: a lab platform such as Benchling AI or a research agent such as Kosmos fits better.
- Teams that want to inspect each agent before buying: IQVIA describes agents by use case, not with public product documentation.
- Organizations that prefer to spread vendors: tying agents, data and services to one supplier concentrates a lot of your pipeline work in one contract.
Partner-Reported Time Savings and Data Dependence
- Vendor-reported results: the review and analysis time savings come from IQVIA and NVIDIA, so validate them in a pilot.
- Data dependence: agents are trained and tuned on IQVIA data, which raises switching costs if you later change data vendors.
- Roadmap timing: IQVIA promised more agents and capabilities in the fourth quarter, so confirm which ones are live before you sign.
- Regulatory review: outputs used in trials or submissions still need documented human review.
- Bundled contracts: agents tied to data and service contracts can be hard to price separately, so ask for line items.
New Agents Launched at NVIDIA GTC Paris in 2025
- On June 11, 2025, IQVIA launched new AI agents for life sciences and healthcare at NVIDIA GTC Paris, built with NVIDIA NIM Agent Blueprints, NeMo Customizer and NeMo Guardrails.
- The same day, NVIDIA detailed IQVIA’s orchestrator agents, including clinical data review cut from seven weeks to as little as two.
- On March 16, 2026, IQVIA unveiled IQVIA.ai as a unified agentic platform, citing more than 150 deployed agents and adoption by 19 of the top 20 pharma companies.
A Serious Pilot for Sponsors Already in IQVIA’s Orbit
For large sponsors already working with IQVIA, it is worth a serious pilot. IQVIA.ai scores 7.5/10 on our scale: high on autonomy and data depth, with room to grow on pricing transparency and ease of access. The supervisor and sub-agent design is well suited to regulated work, and the published time savings, such as clinical data review dropping from seven weeks to as little as two, target the slowest parts of drug development.
The score reflects how the offer is sold today: there are no public prices, trial or public reviews yet, and the strongest numbers come from IQVIA and its technology partner. Published pricing and independent results would lift it. Pick one measurable workflow, agree baseline times with IQVIA before the pilot, and only expand once your own numbers match theirs. Because the agents are designed to work with IQVIA data, the pilot also tells you how much of the value depends on that data, which matters for any later renegotiation.
