Planet DDS says its DentalOS Confirmation Agent raises confirmation rates by 20% to 50% and reduces no-shows by 15% to 30%, while cutting front desk time spent on confirmation calls by an estimated 60% to 75%. Those are vendor figures from the February 2026 launch, and they target the most expensive leak in a dental schedule: the company cites more than $150,000 in lost production per provider each year from no-shows.
DentalOS AI Agents are best for dental service organizations and multi-location groups already running Denticon or Cloud 9. The agents live inside those systems, so there is no sync to maintain. They are offered to Denticon and Cloud 9 customers, and pricing is shared by quote through the Agents+ suite. We rate them 8.1/10 on our scale; a published price guide is the change that would lift that score most. We have not used the product ourselves; this review is based on Planet DDS announcements, trade press coverage and public reviews of Denticon.
Confirmations Up and No-Shows Down, Per Planet DDS
- Planet DDS reports confirmation rates up 20% to 50%, no-shows down 15% to 30% and 60% to 75% less front desk time on confirmations (vendor estimates, February 2026).
- The agents run inside Denticon and Cloud 9, a platform Planet DDS says serves 14,500 practices, 175,000 users and more than half of the 60 largest North American DSOs.
- Four agents are live: Confirmation, Scheduling or Recall, Cancellation Rescheduling and Missed Appointment Rescheduling.
- Pricing is quote only. Agents are sold as the Agents+ suite, and future agents in that suite come at no extra cost.
- Groups on Dentrix, Eaglesoft or Open Dental should look at Arini, Peerlogic or Weave instead.
Scale and Growth Data From Planet DDS
Planet DDS publishes more scale and growth data than most dental software vendors, which helps buyers judge whether the company can keep shipping agents.
| Fact | Detail | Source and Date |
|---|---|---|
| Claimed agent results | Confirmation rates up 20% to 50%, no-shows down 15% to 30%, front desk confirmation time down an estimated 60% to 75% | Planet DDS launch release, February 26, 2026 |
| Problem size cited | Average no-show rate of 15%, more than $150,000 in lost production per provider per year, and 36% of no-show patients say they forgot | Planet DDS launch release, February 26, 2026 |
| Platform scale | 14,500 practices and 175,000 users | Business Wire, January 28, 2026 |
| DSO reach | More than half of the top 60 DSOs in North America | Planet DDS mid-year release, August 18, 2026 |
| Named enterprise customers | Sage Dental (140 locations), The Smilist (100 orthodontic locations), Coast Dental (88), Altius Dental (74) | Business Wire, January 28, 2026 |
| 2026 wins | Jefferson Dental (60 locations) and Mosaic Dental Collective (47 locations) | Planet DDS mid-year release, August 18, 2026 |
| Growth | Denticon ARR up 24.3% year over year at mid-2026; Inc. 5000 rank of 2,523 in 2026 | Planet DDS mid-year release, August 18, 2026 |
| Earlier recognition | Deloitte Technology Fast 500 rank of 336 in 2025, up from 352 | Business Wire, January 28, 2026 |
| Partner ecosystem | More than 80 signed integration partners at mid-year | Planet DDS mid-year release, August 18, 2026 |
| Public reviews | Denticon rated 4.5 out of 5 from 118 reviews | Capterra, viewed November 2026 |
These numbers say two things. First, Planet DDS has the installed base to make embedded agents matter: a 140-location group that switches on a confirmation agent changes outcomes across thousands of chairs at once. Second, every result figure for the agents comes from the vendor and launched less than a year ago, so buyers should ask for before-and-after data from a live customer with a similar patient mix.
The growth figures also matter for a buyer signing a multi-year platform deal. A 24.3% ARR growth rate and steady DSO wins suggest the company has the revenue to fund the clinical and revenue cycle agents it has promised.
AI Workers Inside Denticon and Cloud 9
DentalOS AI Agents are AI workers that run inside Denticon, Planet DDS’s dental practice management system, and Cloud 9, its orthodontic system. Because they sit in the same database as the schedule, they see live appointments, patient records and each group’s scheduling rules without an integration layer.
The Confirmation Agent
The Confirmation Agent places outbound confirmation calls within a window the practice configures. Before it shares anything that counts as protected health information, it verifies the patient’s identity. It respects patient consent and office hours. If the patient cannot make the time, the agent searches for another slot under policy controls set by the group and reschedules during the same call. The outcome, whether confirmed, moved or unreachable, is written back to the record with an audit trail.
The Scheduling and Recall Agent
The Scheduling Agent works the lists that front desks rarely finish: recall lists, waitlists, ASAP lists and unscheduled treatment. It contacts patients and books them directly into the schedule. When a cancellation opens a slot, it triggers time-sensitive outreach to fill it. Planet DDS’s August 2026 release refers to this role as the Recall Agent alongside the Confirmation Agent.
The Rescheduling Agents
In early August 2026, Planet DDS added two more agents. The Cancellation Rescheduling Agent works the cancelled-appointment list to rebook patients before their slots go unused. The Missed Appointment Rescheduling Agent follows up with patients after a no-show, using what the company describes as empathetic, non-accusatory outreach.
Clinical Judgment Calls Go Back to Staff
The agents handle missed call recovery and routine patient questions, but Planet DDS says they hand off to staff when clinical judgment or personal attention is needed. Treatment discussions, billing disputes and anything outside the group’s rules stay with people. Planet DDS has said more agents are coming for clinical coordination, patient communications and revenue cycle management, but those were not live in the materials reviewed.
Early Access Through Planet DDS, Not Self-Serve
Setup runs through Planet DDS rather than a self-serve console. At launch, early access was open to current Denticon and Cloud 9 customers through a waitlist. Because the agents follow each organization’s existing scheduling rules, communication standards and workflows, most of the work is deciding confirmation windows, which lists to work and which situations go to staff.
No Agent Prices Under the Platform Model
Planet DDS does not publish prices for the agents or for DentalOS. Since August 2026, it has sold the platform as a base product plus five optional suites. A group adds only the suites it uses, and once a suite is added, all current and future capabilities in that suite come at no extra cost.
| Plan | Price | Billing | What’s Included | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DentalOS | Custom quote | Contract | Denticon or Cloud 9 practice management, the base platform | Agents not included without Agents+ |
| Agents+ | Custom quote | Contract add-on | Confirmation, Recall, Cancellation Rescheduling and Missed Appointment Rescheduling Agents, plus future agents in the suite | Requires DentalOS |
| Clinical Voice+ | Custom quote | Contract add-on | AI Voice Perio and AI Voice Restorative Charting, plus future clinical documentation tools | Requires DentalOS |
| Imaging+, Patient+, Payments+ | Custom quote | Contract add-on | Imaging, patient engagement and payments capabilities | Requires DentalOS |
Planet DDS’s $150,000 Value Figure
Without published prices, the useful math is on the value side. The scenarios below use Planet DDS’s own figures: more than $150,000 in lost production per provider each year from no-shows, and a claimed 15% to 30% reduction in no-shows. They assume lost production falls in proportion to no-shows, which is a simplification.
A five-provider group practice: 15% to 30% of $150,000 is $22,500 to $45,000 in recovered production per provider per year. Across five providers, that comes to $112,500 to $225,000 a year. If the Agents+ quote lands well under that range, the case is easy to make.
A 40-location DSO with two providers per office: 80 providers multiplied by $22,500 to $45,000 gives $1.8 million to $3.6 million a year in production that the vendor’s figures say could be recovered. At that size, the bigger question is whether the claimed results hold across different patient populations.
Front desk time: if a team spends 10 hours a week on confirmation calls, Planet DDS’s estimate of 60% to 75% savings works out to 6 to 7.5 hours a week returned to other tasks.
Other costs sit mostly outside the agents. A group not on Denticon or Cloud 9 faces a full practice management migration, with data conversion and retraining. Groups already on the platform should ask whether Agents+ pricing scales by location, provider or usage, and what happens to pricing at renewal.
DentalOS AI Agents Compared With Arini, Peerlogic and Weave AI Receptionist
Most dental AI agents are standalone voice products that connect to many practice systems. DentalOS AI Agents take the opposite approach: they sit deep inside one platform and are offered to that platform’s customers.
| Agent | Starting Price | Free Plan | Main Strength | Main Trade-Off | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DentalOS AI Agents | Custom quote | No | Native inside Denticon and Cloud 9 with audit trail | Only for Planet DDS customers | DSOs already on Denticon or Cloud 9 |
| Arini | $499 a month (reported) | No | Built for dental front desks, including after-hours booking | Young company with few independent reviews | Practices and DSOs that miss inbound calls |
| Peerlogic | Custom quote | No | Books into eight named practice systems, including Denticon | Quote only, no free trial | Practices on mixed systems that need call coverage |
| Weave AI Receptionist | Custom quote | No | Part of a phone and messaging platform many offices already use | Quote only | Offices already on Weave phones |
The split is about direction of work. Arini, Peerlogic and Weave mostly answer inbound calls and book appointments. DentalOS AI Agents are built around outbound work: confirmations, recall, cancellations and no-show follow-up. A Denticon group could reasonably run one of the inbound agents alongside Agents+. DSOs on Denticon or Cloud 9
- DSOs already on Denticon or Cloud 9: the agents use the live schedule and write back to it, so there is no third-party integration to break.
- Groups with large recall and unscheduled treatment lists: the Scheduling and Recall Agent works these lists continuously, which front desks rarely manage.
- Orthodontic groups on Cloud 9: the agents run in Cloud 9 as well, which matters for practices with frequent adjustment visits.
- Operators who want one vendor: suite pricing that includes future agents suits groups that prefer a single contract over several point tools.
Practices on Dentrix, Eaglesoft or Open Dental
- Practices on Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental or Curve: the agents are not sold separately, so switching practice systems just to get them is a large project.
- Single offices that want a price list: Arini publishes a reported monthly price and suits smaller buyers better.
- Teams that mainly need inbound call answering: the launched agents focus on outbound confirmation and scheduling work.
- Buyers who need insurance verification or claims help today: revenue cycle agents are still on the roadmap; look at Ivy by Overjet instead.
Questions for Planet DDS Before an Agents+ Pilot
The headline results come from Planet DDS’s 2026 launch. Planet DDS could help buyers by publishing the method behind them; until then, reference customers with numbers measured over several months are the best check.
The agents run only inside Denticon and Cloud 9, so they add another reason to stay on the platform. That suits groups planning to stay anyway, and others may want to factor it into renewal planning.
Security documentation is available on request. The launch materials describe identity checks, consent rules and audit logs and link to a Trust Center hosted by SecurityScorecard; listing certifications on those pages would help buyers. Ask for HIPAA business associate terms, any SOC 2 report and details on call recording retention.
Public reviews of Denticon are positive overall, and some reviewers mention slower support delivered through a ticket system. It helps to clarify how agent questions are escalated before signing.
The roadmap adds more agents. Clinical coordination, patient communications and revenue cycle agents were announced as coming through 2026 and beyond. Buyers can plan around the agents that are live today and treat the rest as upcoming.
The Shift From Cloud-First to AI-First
On January 28, 2026, Planet DDS reported its 2025 enterprise wins and said it would move from a cloud-first to an AI-first strategy, with the first agentic features introduced at its Orbit conference.
On February 26, 2026, it unveiled DentalOS AI Agents, starting with the Confirmation and Scheduling Agents, and Orthodontic Products reported that early access opened to current Denticon and Cloud 9 customers.
On August 18, 2026, Planet DDS announced two rescheduling agents and new suite packaging, along with 24.3% year-over-year ARR growth for Denticon.
The Natural Automation Path for Denticon DSOs
For a DSO already on Denticon or Cloud 9, DentalOS AI Agents are the most natural way to automate confirmations, recall and rebooking. The agents work in the same system as the schedule, follow the group’s rules and leave an audit trail, and suite pricing means future agents should not cost extra. The vendor’s no-show math, even at the low end, suggests real money per provider.
The 8.1/10 on our scale reflects areas Planet DDS could still build on: pricing is shared by quote, the outcome data is vendor reported and about a year old, and the product is offered only inside Planet DDS’s own systems. If you are a Denticon customer, ask for a pilot with measured confirmation and no-show rates. If you are not, a standalone agent such as Arini or Peerlogic is the practical route.
Using the Agents Without Denticon
How Much Do DentalOS AI Agents Cost?
Planet DDS does not publish prices. The agents are sold as the Agents+ suite on top of the DentalOS platform, and once a group adds that suite, current and future agents in it are included at no extra charge. Expect a quote based on the size of your organization.
Can I Use DentalOS AI Agents Without Denticon?
No. The agents run inside Denticon and Cloud 9 and use their live schedules and records. Practices on other systems would need to move to Planet DDS’s practice management software first.
Which Tasks Do the DentalOS Agents Handle Today?
The live agents confirm appointments and reschedule during the same call, work recall, waitlist, ASAP and unscheduled treatment lists, rebook cancellations and follow up after no-shows. They also handle missed calls and routine questions and escalate clinical matters to staff.
How Do DentalOS AI Agents Protect Patient Data?
Planet DDS says the agents verify a patient’s identity before sharing protected health information, respect consent and office hours, and log every action with an audit trail. Ask for its Trust Center documentation and business associate terms during procurement.
Where Do the DentalOS No-Show Figures Come From?
The 15% to 30% no-show reduction and 20% to 50% confirmation lift come from Planet DDS’s launch announcement. They are figures reported by the vendor, so results from a live customer are a useful addition before relying on them in a business case.
