Procore took about four months to turn an acquisition into shipping product. It bought Datagrid in January 2026, and by May 2026 five prebuilt agents built on Datagrid technology were in the hands of contractor customers: deep search, submittal review, RFI, daily log and contract review. Datagrid founder Thiago da Costa, now Procore’s senior vice president of AI and data, told ENR that this kind of integration generally takes a year.
Procore Agents suit general contractors and specialty contractors who already keep drawings, specifications, RFIs and photos in Procore and want the routine paperwork drafted for them. The main thing to plan for is cost visibility: Procore shares pricing through custom annual contracts rather than a public price list, and every contract includes unlimited users. We rate it 8.1/10 on our scale. We have not used Procore ourselves; this review is based on Procore’s announcements and pricing page, trade press coverage and public reviews.
Five Prebuilt Agents Reach Contractors in May 2026
- Five prebuilt agents (deep search, submittal review, RFI, daily log and contract review) reached contractor customers in May 2026, built on technology from Datagrid, which Procore acquired in January 2026.
- Agent Builder, open to all customers in beta since October 2025, creates custom agents from plain-language prompts with no coding.
- Pricing is custom and annual with no published figures, but Procore never charges for added users, so subcontractors and clients join projects free.
- The agents draft and flag; a person still reviews daily logs, RFIs and contract comments before anything is issued.
- Against Trunk Tools and Document Crunch, Procore Agents win on breadth inside one platform; the specialists go deeper on their own niches.
Announcements and Trade Coverage on Procore’s Agents
Procore is a large, established platform, and most of the hard numbers about its agents come from its own announcements and trade press coverage of the Datagrid deal.
| Fact | Detail | Source and Date |
|---|---|---|
| Platform scale | More than three million projects have run on Procore across more than 150 countries | Procore Groundbreak release via Business Wire, October 15, 2025 |
| Agent Builder launch | Open beta available to all customers; agents built from natural-language prompts with no coding or AI experience required | Procore via Business Wire, October 15, 2025 |
| First prebuilt agents | RFI Creation Agent, which drafts RFIs and searches project documents for answers, and Daily Log Agent for jobsite reporting | Procore via Business Wire, October 15, 2025 |
| Customer endorsement | Mortenson’s director of AI, Brian Nahas, called building custom agents with Agent Builder remarkably simple | Procore via Business Wire, October 15, 2025 |
| Datagrid acquisition | Procore acquired Datagrid, a San Francisco vertical AI firm, for undisclosed terms; founder Thiago da Costa joined to lead AI and data strategy | Construction Dive, January 21, 2026 |
| Datagrid agent tasks | Deep search, RFI validation, scope checks, pre-qualification, audits and daily reports, plus connections to ERP and cloud storage systems | Construction Dive, January 21, 2026 |
| Five prebuilt agents | Deep search, submittal review, RFI, daily log and contract review agents available to contractor customers | ENR, May 21, 2026 |
| Integration speed | Da Costa said such integrations generally take a year; Procore shipped the agents a few months after the deal | ENR, May 21, 2026 |
| Pricing terms | Unlimited users, unlimited storage, 24/7 support, 18 role-based training certifications and a 40,000+ peer community in every contract | Procore pricing page, viewed October 2026 |
| Review rating | Procore platform rated 4.5 out of 5 from 2,680 reviews; ease of use 4.4, customer service 4.5 | Capterra, viewed October 2026 |
For a buyer, the most telling number is the gap between the deal and the launch. Procore bought a company that already sold construction agents and folded its agent builder and connectors into the platform within months. That suggests the agents are built on a product with outside customers behind it, not a prototype written for a conference keynote.
The second point is reach. Agents are only as useful as the records they can read, and a platform with millions of projects and unlimited users tends to hold the full trail of drawings, specifications, RFIs and photos on a job. The Datagrid connectors also matter for contractors whose cost data lives in a separate ERP. The Capterra rating, though, covers the whole Procore platform rather than the agents, and reviewers there talk about training and cost far more than AI.
Running on Procore Helix With Nothing to Install
Procore Agents run on Procore Helix, the intelligence layer built into the Procore platform, so there is no separate integration to install. They read the project data a contractor already keeps in Procore and, through Datagrid connectors, data held in outside systems.
The Five Prebuilt Agents
- Deep search agent: searches specifications, drawings and RFIs, consolidates the references it finds, highlights conflicts between documents and links each answer to its source file.
- RFI agent: checks an RFI for completeness and clarity, suggests edits and attaches relevant documents to cut down on back-and-forth with the design team. Staff can write RFIs in plain language from a panel while viewing the relevant part of the project.
- Submittal review agent: compares a submittal with the project specifications, writes a review summary and flags discrepancies in the submittal record.
- Daily log agent: gathers photos, emails and voice notes and drafts the daily log for a person to review and finalize.
- Contract review agent: identifies conflicts in contracts, flags language that could expose the contractor to liability and adds comments aimed at resolving issues across contracts, drawings and specifications.
Building Custom Agents
Agent Builder lets customers describe a workflow in plain language and turn it into an agent. Procore says no coding or AI experience is needed. Common uses Procore lists include drafting RFIs, managing submittals and generating daily logs and summaries, and Datagrid’s agent builder now sits inside the same platform. Agent Builder opened as a beta to all customers in October 2025.
Procore Assist
Alongside the agents, Procore Assist is the conversational assistant. It can summarize progress and surface safety observations from jobsite photos, works on mobile with search, reporting and voice features, and supports Spanish and Polish as well as English. For field crews, that means asking a question on a phone instead of digging through folders.
Drafts for People to Review, Never Issued Alone
Every agent stops short of issuing anything on its own. The daily log agent produces a draft that a person reviews and finalizes; the RFI agent suggests edits rather than sending RFIs; the submittal and contract agents summarize and flag. Project managers, engineers and contract staff remain responsible for what goes to owners, architects and subcontractors, and someone has to decide which custom agents the team builds and who can use them.
Bundles Built With a Construction Specialist
- Request a demo and quote: Procore builds a product bundle with a construction specialist, and implementation and onboarding services come with the contract.
- Load project records: the agents work best when drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals and photos live in Procore.
- Connect outside data: use Datagrid connectors for ERP and cloud storage where cost or document data lives elsewhere.
- Pilot the prebuilt agents: start with deep search and the daily log agent on one active job, then add RFI, submittal and contract review.
- Train the team: Procore includes training with 18 role-based certifications.
Annual Bundled Contracts Priced Through Procore Sales
Procore does not publish prices. Based on its pricing page, contracts are annual, built as a bundle of products with a sales rep, and priced to stay fixed for the term. Ask your rep which agents your bundle includes.
| Plan | Price | Billing | What’s Included | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Procore product bundle | Custom quote | Annual contract | Chosen Procore products, unlimited users, unlimited data storage, 24/7 live support, training, implementation and onboarding | Volume can be added mid-term at pre-set rates; renewal rates locked up front |
| Field Productivity | Custom quote | Per FTE | Workforce and timekeeping product | Priced outside the bundle |
| AI agents and Agent Builder | Not listed separately | Part of the platform contract | Prebuilt agents and custom agents inside Procore Helix | Ask which agents your bundle includes |
How Procore’s Pricing Rules Play Out by Buyer
Without published figures, we have not estimated dollar amounts, so these examples show how the pricing rules play out for different buyers.
- A general contractor with 30 office staff and 150 subcontractor users: because Procore never charges for added users, the 150 outside collaborators cost nothing extra. The bill depends on the products in the bundle and the volume written into the contract, not on headcount.
- A contractor that wins more work mid-contract: volume can be added during the term at rates agreed up front, so a growth year does not force a renegotiation. Ask for those rates in writing before signing.
- A self-performing contractor adding Field Productivity for 60 field workers: that product is priced per FTE outside the bundle, so its cost rises with every worker added. Model it separately from the platform contract.
Hidden or variable costs to plan for: time for staff training, since reviewers often describe a steep learning curve; internal time to build and test custom agents; and the renewal, where locked rates protect you only if they were agreed at signing.
Procore Agents Compared With Trunk Tools, Document Crunch and ServiceTitan Atlas
Construction AI agents fall into two groups: platforms that add agents to software contractors already use, and specialists that sit on top of it. Procore is the first kind.
| Agent | Starting Price | Free Plan | Main Strength | Main Trade-Off | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Procore Agents | Custom quote | No (demo) | Five prebuilt agents plus a no-code builder on project data already in Procore | No published pricing; tied to the Procore platform | Contractors already running projects in Procore |
| Trunk Tools | Custom quote | No | Field-focused search and issue flagging across Procore, Autodesk and file stores | Aimed mainly at larger contractors | Large general contractors with documents spread across systems |
| Document Crunch | Custom quote | No (demo) | Construction-trained contract and document risk review | US and Canada only; roadmap tied to Trimble | Contractors and attorneys reviewing many contracts |
| ServiceTitan Atlas | Custom quote (pricing not yet set) | No (demo) | Owner-level reporting, monitoring and workflow automation for the trades | Closed alpha for admins only | ServiceTitan commercial and residential trade contractors |
Trunk Tools is the closest rival for field search, and it connects to Procore, so some firms run both. Document Crunch goes deeper than Procore’s contract review agent on risk language, which matters for firms with in-house counsel. ServiceTitan Atlas serves a different buyer: trade contractors running service and commercial work, not general contractors managing large builds. Contractors Already Storing Records in Procore
- Contractors already on Procore: the agents read records you already store there, with no separate tool to buy or connect.
- Project teams buried in RFIs and submittals: the RFI and submittal review agents target the document checks that eat up project engineers’ days.
- Firms with many outside collaborators: unlimited users mean subcontractors and clients can work in the same system at no extra cost.
- Companies with an in-house tech or innovation team: Agent Builder lets them turn their own processes into agents, as Mortenson has described doing.
- Contractors whose data spans Procore and an ERP: Datagrid connectors bring outside records into reach of the agents.
Small Builders and Remodelers
- Small builders and remodelers: reviewers say Procore can feel heavy for small jobs, and a tool such as Handoff publishes prices for that market.
- Teams that keep documents outside Procore and do not plan to move: a specialist such as Trunk Tools works across several systems.
- Buyers who need a price before a sales call: Procore shares pricing through sales.
- Firms that want contract review as their main AI use: a dedicated tool such as Document Crunch is built for that job.
- Estimating-focused teams: the agents target project management paperwork, not quantity takeoffs; see Togal.AI for that.
Drafts Not Decisions, So Keep a Review Step
- Drafts, not decisions: every agent produces drafts, summaries or flags. Build a review step into your RFI, submittal and daily log processes.
- Beta status of custom agents: Agent Builder launched as an open beta. Test custom agents on one project before standardizing them.
- Pricing by bundle: confirm which agents your bundle includes and whether AI features change price at renewal.
- Learning curve: Capterra reviewers repeatedly mention heavy training needs, complex menus and frequent updates.
- Performance feedback: some reviewers mention slow load times, bugs in new features and unexpected maintenance downtime, areas Procore could keep improving.
- Platform commitment: the deeper you build agents into Procore, the harder a later move becomes.
ENR on the Datagrid-Powered Agent Release
- On May 21, 2026, ENR reported that Procore released five new AI agents after integrating Datagrid, covering deep search, submittal review, RFIs, daily logs and contract review.
- On January 20, 2026, Procore announced it had acquired Datagrid, a San Francisco vertical AI company, for undisclosed terms, with plans to offer its products to Procore and non-Procore customers.
- On October 15, 2025, at Groundbreak, Procore opened Agent Builder in beta to all customers and introduced RFI Creation and Daily Log agents.
A 6.1 for Contractors Committed to Procore
For contractors already committed to Procore, yes. Procore Agents score 8.1/10 on our scale: strong on integrations, sentiment and the reach of agents that read the project record, with room to improve on pricing transparency and setup effort. The agents cover the paperwork that slows project teams down, from RFIs to daily logs, and the Datagrid deal gives Procore a team that was building construction agents before most of the industry.
Published prices and a full release of Agent Builder would lift the score. If you are not already on Procore, the agents are one factor among many in a platform decision; compare Trunk Tools for search and Document Crunch for contract risk first. If you are on Procore, ask your rep for a pilot of the deep search and daily log agents on a live job, and get the AI terms for your renewal in writing.
Agent Builder and the Datagrid Purchase
How Much Do Procore AI Agents Cost?
Procore does not publish prices. It sells annual contracts built around a bundle of products, with unlimited users, storage, support and training included. Ask your rep whether the agents are included in your bundle.
What Is Procore Agent Builder?
Agent Builder is a no-code tool inside Procore for creating custom AI agents from plain-language prompts. Procore opened it as a beta to all customers in October 2025. Datagrid’s agent builder is now part of the same platform.
What Did Procore Get From Buying Datagrid?
Datagrid brought AI agents for tasks such as deep search, RFI validation, scope checks, audits and daily reports, plus connectors to ERP and cloud storage systems. Its founder, Thiago da Costa, now leads Procore’s AI and data work, and the five prebuilt agents launched in May 2026 build on Datagrid technology.
How Do Procore Agents Compare With Trunk Tools?
Both search construction documents and flag issues. Procore Agents live inside Procore and add RFI, submittal, daily log and contract agents. Trunk Tools connects to Procore, Autodesk and file stores, which suits firms whose documents sit in more than one system.
Can Procore Agents Send RFIs or Approve Submittals on Their Own?
Based on Procore’s descriptions, no. The RFI agent checks and improves drafts and attaches documents, the submittal agent writes summaries and flags discrepancies, and the daily log agent leaves a draft for a person to review and finalize.
