Togal.AI Score

Our editorial score across six weighted criteria, based on Togal.AI’s published documentation, pricing and public user ratings. How we score

  • Autonomy8.0

Togal measures and counts items across whole plan sets on its own, but the estimator classifies items, reviews the takeoff and sets prices.

  • Ease of Setup8.5

Togal says sales staff set users up within hours, though sign-up runs through a demo rather than self-serve checkout.

  • Pricing Value8.0

The Growth plan publishes $299 per user per month with unlimited takeoffs, billed yearly, with sign-up through a demo.

  • Integrations7.0

Togal reads PDF, JPEG, PNG and TIFF plans and offers an API, and could help buyers by publishing an integration list and API details.

  • Trust and Security7.3

Security compliance and SSO are included on the custom Business plan for teams of four or more users.

  • User Sentiment9.6

G2 rates Togal.AI 4.8 out of 5 from 61 reviews, adjusted slightly for the modest review count.

Togal.AI says it identifies and tallies about 200,000 items on construction plans every day and has analyzed more than three million plans. The Miami company, founded in 2019 by former estimators, sells one thing: automated takeoff. Upload a plan set, and the software finds, measures and counts what an estimator would otherwise trace by hand.

It suits estimators at general contractors and trade contractors who bid often and spend much of the week measuring drawings. Togal focuses on measuring rather than pricing, and the published plan is billed yearly at $299 per user per month, with SSO and security compliance on a custom plan. We rate it 8.1/10 on our scale. We have not used Togal ourselves; this review is based on Togal’s pricing page and FAQ, a published customer case study, press coverage and public ratings.

200,000 Plan Items a Day and a $299 Growth Seat

  • Togal.AI says it tallies about 200,000 plan items a day and processes more than 90 million LLM tokens daily (December 2025).
  • The Growth plan costs $299 per user per month billed yearly, or $3,588 per estimator a year, with unlimited takeoffs, chat prompts and symbol searches.
  • Coastal Construction’s Miami office cut the share of estimator time spent on takeoffs from about 50% to about 10%, according to a published case study.
  • The software measures; the estimator still classifies items, reviews the takeoff and prices the job.
  • G2 rates Togal.AI 4.8 out of 5 from 61 reviews, and Togal says a 2025 Kansas University study found it 76% faster than other leading takeoff tools.

Company, Case Study and Press Figures on Togal

Togal is a private company, so most of its numbers come from the company itself, a customer case study and press coverage of its growth plans.

The Coastal Construction result is the most useful figure for a buyer because it shows where the savings came from. The company did not cut estimators; it moved their time from measuring to bidding, and most of the reported savings came from winning more work. That is the case for Togal in one line: it pays off when your estimators are the bottleneck on how many bids you can submit.

The growth and volume numbers are company-reported and should be read that way, but they point to a tool in heavy daily use rather than a pilot. The 80% and 98% claims are worth testing on your own drawings, since plan quality and trade mix vary widely between firms.

Drawings In, Measured Quantities Out for Eight Trades

Togal is a web app built around one workflow: turning a set of construction drawings into measured quantities. It targets eight trades (doors and hardware, drywall, electrical, flooring, framing and lumber, glass and glazing, painting) plus general contractors.

From Plan Set to Takeoff

  • Upload: the estimator uploads plans in PDF, JPEG, PNG or TIFF format. Togal says the AI handles almost any industry-standard drawing format.
  • Automated takeoff: the software detects and measures areas and items across the drawings. The Growth plan includes unlimited automated takeoffs.
  • Symbol and image search: the estimator picks an item, such as a fixture or door symbol, and Togal finds and counts matching items across the set.
  • Chat with the plans: estimators can type questions about the drawings, and Growth includes unlimited chat prompts.
  • Review and classify: the estimator classifies items, checks the measurements and corrects anything wrong. Togal says the AI learns from those corrections.
  • Price and bid: pricing decisions stay with the estimator and the firm’s own cost data.

Where It Fits in an Estimating Workflow

Togal sits between receiving bid documents and building the estimate. A typical estimating team still reads the invitation to bid, decides whether to pursue the job, and then spends hours measuring floor areas, wall lengths and counts before any pricing starts. Togal targets that measuring step. Once quantities exist, they go into whatever the firm uses to price work, whether a spreadsheet or a dedicated estimating program. Because Togal includes unlimited takeoffs on its published plan, the marginal cost of measuring one more bid is zero once a seat is paid for, which changes the math on jobs a team might otherwise pass on.

That is the logic behind the Coastal Construction case. With estimators spending far less of their week on takeoffs, the company bid and won more work, and the reported savings of close to $1 million in the first year came mainly from those extra wins rather than from lower headcount.

Collaboration

Users can invite colleagues inside the organization and outside collaborators, who do not need a Togal account. That suits general contractors who want to share takeoffs with trade partners or owners during a bid.

Classification, Review and Pricing Stay Human

Togal handles the repetitive measuring. Classification, review and pricing remain human work, as Togal itself says in its FAQ. Estimators also need to check unusual drawings and scope that the plans leave out, and someone has to build the classification library the team works from. Business customers get a template for that.

Try Now Leads to a Guided Demo

Sign-up runs through the “Try Now” button, which leads to a demo booking. According to Togal, sales staff walk new users through the tool and set them up within hours, with onboarding support afterward. Business customers get onboarding and training help and a dedicated support rep.

One Published Plan and a Custom Option

Togal publishes one price and keeps a custom plan for larger teams. These figures are from Togal’s pricing page in October 2026.

PlanPriceBillingWhat’s IncludedLimits

Multi-license discounts are available through sales. Togal accepts all major credit cards, and customers who want to cancel must contact the company before the next renewal period.

A One-Estimator Drywall Sub Versus a Bigger Team

These scenarios use the published Growth price. Team sizes are our own illustrative assumptions.

  • A drywall or flooring subcontractor with one estimator: one Growth seat costs $299 a month billed yearly, or $3,588 for the year, with unlimited takeoffs.
  • A trade contractor with three estimators: three Growth seats cost $10,764 a year. A fourth estimator moves the team into Business territory, where pricing is by quote but quantity discounts apply.
  • A general contractor with eight estimators, like Coastal Construction: this team would buy the Business plan. Applying Coastal’s reported drop from about 50% to about 10% of time on takeoffs to a 40-hour week, each estimator would get back about 16 hours a week for other bid work.

Costs to plan for beyond the license: your estimating or cost database for pricing, time to build a classification library, and the full annual commitment, since the published plan has no monthly option.

Togal.AI Compared With Handoff, Procore Agents and Trunk Tools

Few AI tools for construction do takeoff as their main job. The closest comparisons are residential platforms that include AI takeoffs and broader construction agents that read the same drawings for other purposes.

Handoff is the only rival here with AI takeoffs, and it targets a different buyer: its Scale plan, at $719 a month billed annually for five or more users, covers residential plans up to 7,000 square feet as part of a wider business system. Procore Agents and Trunk Tools work later in a project’s life, after the bid is won. For commercial estimating, Togal is the specialist. Browse more in our AI agents for construction guide.

Trade Contractors Who Bid Every Week

  • Trade contractors that bid often: drywall, flooring, framing, painting and glazing firms that measure areas and counts on every bid get the most from automated takeoff.
  • General contractors with estimating backlogs: Coastal Construction shows the model of moving estimator time from measuring to bidding.
  • Small estimating teams that want a known price: one to three estimators can buy Growth seats without a custom quote.
  • Firms that share takeoffs with partners: outside collaborators join without needing an account.

All-in-One Estimating Seekers and Remodelers

  • Buyers who want an all-in-one estimating suite: Togal focuses on takeoff and does not yet supply pricing or cost data.
  • Residential remodelers: a tool such as Handoff combines estimates, proposals and payments for that market.
  • Firms that need SSO or a security review on a small team: those come only with the custom Business plan for four or more users.
  • Teams that want monthly billing: the published plan is billed yearly.
  • Contractors who rarely bid: at $3,588 per seat a year, occasional takeoffs may not justify the license.

Test Accuracy Claims on Past Bids

  • Vendor accuracy claims: the 80% and 98% figures come from Togal. Run past bids through the tool and compare with your final quantities.
  • Annual commitment: Growth is billed yearly, and you must cancel before renewal.
  • Demo-led sign-up: the sign-up path runs through a demo, so ask for a pilot on your own drawings.
  • Security features by plan: SSO and security compliance are on the Business plan.
  • Plan quality matters: automated detection depends on what the drawings show. Scanned, low-resolution or heavily marked-up sheets deserve a closer check, and scope that appears only in specifications will not show up in a plan takeoff.
  • Learning from corrections: Togal says the AI improves as estimators correct it, which means early takeoffs on a new trade or drawing style may need more review than later ones.
  • Integration detail: an API exists and Togal shares details on request, so confirm how takeoffs move into your estimating system.

Plans to Add 100 Employees in 2026

Yes for Weekly Plan Measurers, With Integration Details to Confirm

For estimators who measure plans every week, yes. Togal.AI scores 8.1/10 on our scale: very strong on user sentiment, fair on pricing and setup, with limited published integration detail, security features on the Business plan and a focused scope that leaves pricing to you shaping the rest. The scope is also the point. Togal does one hard, tedious job and does it at volume, and the Coastal Construction result shows how freed-up estimator time turns into more bids.

The product also has momentum behind it. Company-reported ARR growth of more than 1,000% over two years and plans to add 100 staff in 2026 point to a vendor that is investing in the product, though buyers should still ask how a fast-growing startup handles support as it scales.

At $3,588 per seat a year, the math works if a seat saves more than a few hours a week of takeoff time. Ask for a demo on a plan set you have already bid, compare Togal’s quantities with your final numbers, and check how the output moves into your estimating spreadsheet or software before signing an annual plan.
