Scrunch charges $250 a month, billed annually, to track 350 custom prompts across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI and Meta and show where AI answers cite or skip your brand. Customers it names include Strapi, which grew AI search citations 226%, and Clerk, which reported a 9x rise in AI search sign-ups.
It is best for marketing teams and agencies that need to measure AI visibility and want a way to serve AI bots a cleaner version of their site. Scrunch focuses on measurement: it reports and recommends, content writing stays with your team, and its Agent Experience Platform is the part that acts on its own. Backed by a $15 million Series A led by Decibel, it rates 8.3/10 on our scale. We have not used Scrunch ourselves; this review is based on Scrunch’s published pricing and product pages, funding coverage and G2 reviews.

- The Agent Experience Platform detects AI bots and serves them a machine-readable page version, with rules, previews and rollback.

- Content generation is not part of the product, and some G2 reviewers (4.6 from 74 reviews) mention data limits, pricing and export issues.
Customer Results and Funding Scrunch Puts on Record
Scrunch publishes more customer results and pricing detail than most AI visibility vendors, and its funding shows how quickly the category has grown.
| Fact | Detail | Source and Date |
|---|---|---|
| Series A | $15 million led by Decibel, with Mayfield and Homebrew | MarTech Series, July 2025 |
| Total funding | $26 million | Scrunch, viewed October 2026 |
| Company age | Founded in 2023, out of stealth in 2024 | Scrunch, viewed October 2026 |
| Growth at Series A | More than 500 brands; paying customers up more than 50% month over month for three months, nearly all from inbound demand | MarTech Series, July 2025 |
| Company-reported results | Customers average a 40% increase in referral traffic and up to 4x visibility on generative platforms | MarTech Series, July 2025 |
| Customers | 500+ companies and agencies, including Lenovo, BairesDev, Clerk, Skims, BigTime, Penn State University and Crunchbase | Scrunch pricing page, viewed October 2026 |
| Named results | Clerk: 9x increase in AI search sign-ups. Strapi: AI search citations up 226%. Runpod: 4x growth in new paying customers per month. Tinybird: 3x brand mentions on AI platforms | Scrunch pricing page and Scrunch, viewed October 2026 |
| Crawler readability claim | Over 70% of Fortune 1000 websites are difficult or impossible for AI crawlers to interpret, according to Scrunch | MarTech Series, July 2025 |
| G2 rating | 4.6 out of 5 from 74 reviews; 54 five-star, 18 four-star, 2 three-star | G2, viewed October 2026 |
| Leadership | Chris Andrew, co-founder and CEO | MarTech Series, July 2025 |
The customer results are the most useful figures, with a caveat: they are selected by Scrunch and measure visibility, citations or sign-ups rather than revenue. A 226% citation gain for a developer tool such as Strapi says more about what is possible in technical categories, where AI assistants are heavily used, than about a local service business.
The funding and G2 numbers point to a vendor with momentum and generally happy users. No reviews on G2 fall below three stars, which is unusual, but 74 reviews is still a small base compared with established SEO suites.
Measuring AI Answers, Then Changing What Bots See
Scrunch has two halves: measurement, which tells you how AI answer engines treat your brand, and the Agent Experience Platform, which changes what AI bots receive when they visit your site.
Monitoring Prompts and Citations
You build a set of custom prompts that reflect what buyers ask AI assistants, and Scrunch adds industry prompt sets. Each prompt runs across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, and Meta. Reports show whether your brand appears, which sources are cited, share of voice against competitors and trends over time. You can filter by persona, topic, funnel stage and custom tags, for example to isolate third-party pages cited for a buyer persona that never mention your brand.
Auditing Pages
Page audits show which of your pages AI engines cite and where competitors appear instead. Scrunch combines agent traffic, prompt and citation performance, AI search trends and technical page signals to rank pages by expected impact, with technical and content guidance for each.
The Agent Experience Platform
AXP is the part that acts without a person in the loop. It detects AI bot traffic and serves those bots an optimized version of the page: compressed, structured and machine-readable, while human visitors keep seeing the normal site. Teams can:
- Set rules: block, redirect or strip scripts for bots on any page or path.
- Preview: compare the HTML delivered to AI bots with the human page and see the token difference.
- Roll back: review a full change log and redeploy an earlier version.
At its July 2025 Series A, Scrunch said AXP was in pilot with enterprise customers. Agent traffic monitoring sits alongside it to attribute AI-driven visits.
Starting the Trial and Defining Personas
- Start the trial: the 7-day Starter trial opens without a credit card and carries Starter’s limits of 350 custom prompts, three personas, five page audits and three users.
- Define personas and prompts: write the questions each buyer type asks AI assistants at each funnel stage, then add the industry prompt sets.
- Tag and filter: group prompts by product line, topic or market with custom tags so reports match how your team plans work.
- Run page audits: point audits at the pages that matter most and work through the guidance in order of expected impact.
- Configure AXP: decide which paths serve the optimized bot version, which scripts to strip, and check the preview before going live.
- Connect data: pull answers, citations and sentiment through the Responses API into a warehouse or BI tool if you report outside Scrunch.
Scrunch Leaves Content Writing to Your Team
Scrunch says it does not currently offer AI-generated content. Rewriting pages, publishing new content and earning third-party citations remain work for your team or another tool. People also choose the prompts, personas and AXP rules, and decide which audit recommendations to act on.
Scrunch’s Published Self-Serve Plans
Scrunch publishes self-serve plans. These figures are from its pricing page in October 2026.
| Plan | Price | Billing | What’s Included | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $250 a month, or $300 month to month | Annual or monthly | 350 custom prompts, 1,000 industry prompts, 3 personas, 5 page audits, Google SSO | 3 user licenses |
| Growth | $417 a month, or $500 month to month | Annual or monthly | 700 custom prompts, 2,500 industry prompts, 5 personas, 10 page audits | 5 user licenses |
| Enterprise | Custom | Quote | Everything in Growth plus SAML/OIDC SSO, Enterprise Data API, dedicated team, expanded limits | Set by contract |
| Extra seats | $25 a month each | Monthly | Additional user license | Any plan |
| Trial | Free for 7 days | None | Starter limits, no credit card | Enterprise trials cover one brand, without SSO or the Data API |
Annual billing saves 17%, which Scrunch describes as about two months free. Teams that approach their limits are not cut off; Scrunch says its team gets in touch to discuss options.
One Brand on Starter, Annual Versus Month to Month
These scenarios use Scrunch’s list prices. Team sizes are our own illustrative assumptions.
- A single brand on Starter: $3,000 a year billed annually, against $3,600 paying month to month, a $600 difference. That works out to about $0.71 per tracked custom prompt per month.
- A growing team on Growth: $5,004 a year billed annually or $6,000 monthly. The per-prompt cost falls to about $0.60, and the plan doubles custom prompts and audits.
- A team that needs SSO for security review: SAML or OIDC requires Enterprise, which is priced by quote, so procurement-driven companies should expect to pay above Growth.
Variable costs to plan for: extra seats at $25 a month, and an upgrade conversation if your prompt or audit needs outgrow the plan. Because Scrunch does not write content, budget separately for the people or tools that act on its findings.
Scrunch Compared With Profound, AirOps and BrightEdge Autopilot
AI search tools split into trackers that measure visibility and agents that write or change content. Scrunch sits mostly in the first group, with AXP adding a delivery layer for bots.
| Agent | Starting Price | Free Plan | Main Strength | Main Trade-Off | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Scrunch | $250 a month billed annually | No (7-day trial) | Published prices and an agent-facing version of your site | Does not create content | Brands and agencies measuring AI visibility |
| Profound | Enterprise by quote; agencies reported at $399 per client workspace | No (7-day trial) | Deep enterprise data plus agents that write and publish | No self-serve brand plan (reported) | Large enterprise marketing teams |
| AirOps | Free Solo plan | Yes | Agents and workflows that create and refresh content | Task-based usage is hard to estimate | Content teams producing pages at scale |
| BrightEdge Autopilot | No separate charge on BrightEdge (stated at launch) | No | Automatic internal links, schema and tags on large sites | Requires the BrightEdge enterprise platform | Enterprises already on BrightEdge |
Choose Scrunch if you want transparent pricing and clear reporting on AI visibility, plus a way to serve AI bots a cleaner page without redesigning your site. Choose Profound if you need enterprise depth and built-in content agents, AirOps if the bottleneck is producing content, and BrightEdge Autopilot if you already pay for BrightEdge. Many teams pair a tracker such as Scrunch with a content agent. See more options in our AI agents for SEO and agencies guides.
Marketers Asked to Report on AI Search
- Marketing teams asked to report on AI search: prompt tracking across six answer engine families gives a measurable baseline and trend.
- Developer tools and software brands: published results from Strapi, Runpod, Tinybird and Clerk come from categories where buyers rely on AI assistants.
- SEO agencies: Scrunch lists agencies among its 500-plus customers and launched an offering for agencies that manage several brands.
- Sites heavy on JavaScript: AXP serves bots a machine-readable page without a redesign, which suits sites AI crawlers struggle to read.
- Teams that want to try before buying: the 7-day trial needs no credit card.
Content-Hungry Teams and Small Local Shops
- Teams that need content written for them: Scrunch does not generate content; AirOps or Profound’s agents do.
- Small local businesses: $3,000 a year for monitoring may be more than needed when AI search drives little of your demand.
- Companies that need SAML SSO on a budget: SAML and OIDC are Enterprise-only.
- BrightEdge customers wanting automatic on-page fixes: Autopilot already runs inside the platform you pay for.
- Buyers who want classic keyword ranking data: Scrunch focuses on AI answers, not traditional search positions.
Bot-Facing Pages, Prompt Limits and Acting on Advice
- Recommendations, not edits: apart from AXP’s bot-facing pages, every change to your site is your team’s job.
- Serving bots a different page: AXP gives AI bots a different version from what humans see. Review the preview carefully so the bot version stays accurate and consistent with your human page.
- Prompt limits: results depend on choosing prompts that match how real buyers ask questions; 350 custom prompts can go quickly across several products or markets.
- Vendor-selected results: the 226% and 9x figures are customer stories published by Scrunch, not independent studies.
- Review themes: some G2 reviewers mention data limitations, pricing, export problems and setup complexity.
- Changing plans: some Scrunch pages still describe an older Core plan with 125 prompts at $250, so confirm limits on the current pricing page before you sign.
Decibel’s $15 Million Series A in July 2025
- In July 2025, Scrunch raised a $15 million Series A led by Decibel, with Mayfield and Homebrew participating, reporting more than 500 brands on the platform and launching its Agent Experience Platform in pilot with enterprise customers.
Transparent Pricing Lifts Scrunch to a 6.5
For brands and agencies that need to measure and improve how AI assistants talk about them, Scrunch is a solid, transparently priced choice. It scores 8.3/10 on our scale: strong on ease of setup and user sentiment, more modest on autonomy because it advises rather than writes. The Agent Experience Platform is the feature that sets it apart, letting a site serve AI bots a cleaner version of itself under rules you control.
The trade-off is that Scrunch is a measurement tool with one acting component. If your real problem is producing content, pair it with a content agent or pick a platform that includes one. Use the 7-day trial to load your 20 most important buyer prompts and see whether the gaps it finds are ones your team can act on.
On price, Scrunch compares well with enterprise-only rivals because a team can start for $250 a month and see every limit in advance. The jump to Enterprise for SAML single sign-on and the Data API is the main step up in cost, so larger companies should ask for that quote early.
