Optimove AI Decisioning Studio Lets Agents Pick Each Customer’s Next Message

Optimove opened AI Decisioning Studio to its customers at the end of March 2026, putting four AI agents in charge of per-customer choices. One picks the next campaign, one picks the offer and channel, one picks the message variant and one picks the send time. Marketers set the goals and limits, watch results and switch agents on or off.

The studio fits brands with large customer bases and many recurring campaigns, such as online retailers, iGaming operators and financial services firms already using Optimove. It is sold within the Optimove platform by quote. Capterra lists the platform from US$4,000 per user. We score it 8.1/10 on our scale.

Optimove’s Studio for CRM Marketers

  • Available to Optimove customers from late March 2026, with more agents planned through 2026.
  • Four agents: Journey Decisioning, Offer Decisioning, Content Decisioning and Send Time Optimization.
  • Every agent tests against control groups and shifts customers toward better-performing options.
  • Marketers define strategy, goals and constraints and can switch agents on or off from one screen.
  • Capterra UK rates Optimove 4.3 out of 5 from three reviews; pricing is by quote.

The Four Agents and the Decisions They Own

Decisioning is a narrow but valuable job. A CRM team with dozens of recurring campaigns has to decide, for every customer, which campaign to send, with which offer, through which channel, with which subject line and at what time. Optimove splits that into four agents that share one strategy.

Journey Decisioning Agent

This agent chooses the next best campaign for each customer from all the recurring campaigns they qualify for. It predicts the future value of each option and picks the one most likely to drive long-term results. A customer who qualifies for a win-back offer, a loyalty reward and a new-product announcement gets the one the agent expects to pay off most.

Offer Decisioning Agent

Within the chosen campaign, this agent picks the offer, the channel and the template variation. It uses Optimove’s Customer DNA, which combines lifecycle stage, segmentation layers and micro-segments built from behavior. It compares each action against a control group, measures response and impact, and gradually moves more customers toward the combinations that work.

Content Decisioning Agent

This agent picks the message variation most likely to engage each person, such as the subject line. Marketers supply several variants, written by hand or with generative AI, and the agent uses engagement signals to decide which variant each person gets.

Send Time Optimization Agent

The marketer sets a send window. The agent then picks each person’s delivery time inside it, based on that person’s behavior and past engagement.

How They Work Together

Optimove’s point is that the decisions compound. A better campaign choice is worth more when the offer, the subject line and the timing are also tuned for the same person. In the studio, the four agents share context and one strategy.

The 88% efficiency figure is Optimove’s own claim and comes without a baseline, so treat it as a marketing statement. The more useful fact for a buyer is the control-group design. An agent that keeps a holdout for every decision gives the team its own proof of lift, measured on its own customers.

The industry list explains the design. iGaming, trading and subscription apps send many small, frequent offers to large audiences. That is where per-customer decisions, made thousands of times a day, add up.

A Week of Decisions for an Online Retailer

This example uses the documented agent behavior; the retailer is illustrative.

An apparel retailer has 14 recurring campaigns: welcome, browse abandonment, cart abandonment, replenishment, birthday, loyalty tiers, win-back and several seasonal promotions. Many customers qualify for three or four at once.

On Monday the Journey agent decides that a lapsed customer who browsed outerwear should get the seasonal coat campaign, not the generic win-back, because its predicted long-term value is higher for her. The Offer agent picks free shipping over a percentage discount and chooses email over SMS, based on how similar customers responded and how the control group behaved.

The Content agent sends her the subject line variant that has worked best with customers like her. The Send Time agent delivers it at 7:40 p.m., inside the marketer’s 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. window, because she tends to open in the evening.

At the end of the week, the marketer checks the studio. Each agent shows its effect against its control group. She switches off the Send Time agent for one transactional campaign where timing must be fixed, and leaves the rest running.

Setting Constraints Before Switching Agents On

The agents work inside the limits marketers set, so the setup work is mostly about those limits. Write them down before turning anything on.

Start with offers. Decide the deepest discount any customer may receive, how often a customer can get an incentive and which segments should never get one, such as recent full-price buyers or VIPs who respond without discounts.

Then set frequency. A Journey agent choosing the best campaign for each person still needs a cap on how many campaigns one person gets per week.

Define send windows for the Send Time agent by campaign type. Promotions can float within an evening window; password resets and order updates cannot.

Finally, supply enough content variants. The Content agent can only choose among options the team provides, so three or four subject lines per campaign give it room to learn.

Questions to Ask in an Optimove Demo

Ask how each agent reports lift against its control group and how large the holdout is by default. Ask whether agents can be limited to certain campaigns or segments during a pilot. Ask which agents are planned for later in 2026, and whether they will be included in the current contract. And ask how agent results can be exported for finance reporting, given the reporting comments in Capterra reviews.

Quote Pricing and Budget Planning

Optimove does not publish a price for AI Decisioning Studio. It is part of the Optimove platform, and Optimove sells through its sales team. Capterra lists a starting price of US$4,000, priced per user.

For budget planning, a CRM team should ask Optimove four questions. Is the studio included in the current contract or sold as an add-on? Are the four agents priced together? Will future agents added during 2026 cost extra? And does pricing depend on customer count, message volume or seats?

The control groups give a clean way to judge cost. If each agent reports incremental revenue against its holdout, the team can compare that lift with the price of the studio directly.

Decisioning Studio Against Lifecycle Studio, Composer and Breeze

We compared Optimove’s studio with other agents that make campaign decisions, using published pricing from our listings.

These tools solve different halves of the same problem. Hightouch Lifecycle Studio and Klaviyo Composer build campaigns. Optimove’s studio decides which existing campaign, offer and message each customer gets. A brand with plenty of campaigns and a decision problem will find Optimove’s design more direct. A brand with too few campaigns needs a builder first. More options are on our marketing agents page.

CRM Teams Who Fit the Studio

High-volume consumer brands are the core audience. iGaming operators, sportsbooks, online retailers and trading apps send frequent offers to large bases, and each small lift multiplies across millions of messages.

Teams with many overlapping recurring campaigns gain from the Journey agent most. Without it, rules decide priority, and rules rarely match what each customer would respond to.

Existing Optimove customers have the quickest start, since the studio sits inside the platform they already use and reads the Customer DNA they already maintain.

Teams short on CRM staff gain too. When two people manage dozens of recurring campaigns, the time spent setting priority rules, running subject line tests and picking send times is time not spent on new programs. Handing those decisions to agents frees that time, while the control groups keep the results visible.

Optimove’s platform also lists an MCP connection among its components, which lets outside AI tools reach Optimove data and functions. Teams already using AI assistants for planning can bring Optimove context into those conversations.

What Changes in the CRM Team’s Week

Before the studio, a CRM manager spends part of each week setting campaign priority rules, scheduling subject line tests, reading test results and picking send times. With the four agents running, those choices happen per customer, continuously.

The team’s work shifts toward inputs and oversight. Inputs are new campaigns, new offers and new message variants for the agents to choose among. Oversight is reading each agent’s lift against its control group and adjusting the limits.

That shift suits teams whose bottleneck is decisions, not ideas. Teams whose bottleneck is producing new campaigns will still need people, or a builder agent, for that part.

When a Different Tool Makes More Sense

Smaller brands with a few thousand customers and a handful of campaigns may not have enough volume for per-customer decisioning to show clear lift.

Brands that need an agent to write and build new campaigns from scratch should look at campaign builders first, such as the ones in the comparison table above. Optimove’s Content agent chooses among variants the team provides.

Teams new to Optimove face a platform decision, and should weigh the whole platform, its contract and its migration work before choosing it for the studio. A useful test is whether the team would want Optimove’s segmentation and orchestration even without the agents; if yes, the studio adds per-customer decisions on top of a platform the team already wants.

Guardrails, Holdouts and Reporting

Marketers keep control through strategy, goals and constraints, and they can switch any agent off at any time from the studio. Because the agents act on each message within those limits, the constraints are the main guardrail. Teams should set them carefully: offer limits, frequency caps, excluded segments and send windows.

Control groups are built in. Keep them running even after results look good, because they show whether lift holds over time.

Capterra reviewers asked for smoother reporting and data exports, and one described parts of the interface as clunky. Teams that report agent results to finance should plan how they will pull that data before launch.

Optimove Decisioning Agents Through 2026

Our 8.1 Score for Optimove’s Studio

AI Decisioning Studio earns 8.1/10 on our scale. Autonomy scores high: the agents make thousands of per-customer decisions within set limits and measure themselves against control groups. Ease of setup is good for existing Optimove customers and harder for anyone new to the platform.

Pricing value is low because nothing is published. User sentiment is positive but rests on few public reviews. For a high-volume CRM team already on Optimove, the control groups make this a straightforward feature to test on its merits.
