Julius AI’s paid plans start at $16 a month billed annually, and its free tier lets anyone upload a spreadsheet and ask questions about it in plain English. Behind each answer, Julius writes and runs Python, then returns charts, statistics or forecasts. By mid-2025 it had more than 2 million users.

The product began as a chat-style data analyst and now markets itself as a set of data agents that can also produce dashboards, slide decks and simple websites from the same workspace.

How It Works

Users upload files or connect a source such as Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint, Snowflake, BigQuery, MySQL, PostgreSQL or SQL Server. A semantic layer maps database schemas so each question touches only the relevant tables. Julius then generates and runs code, shows its working and lets users keep refining with follow-up prompts. A Patch tool edits part of an output without rebuilding all of it, and a Browser Agent, added in July 2026, can carry out tasks on websites.

Free users get lighter Julius Lite models. Paid plans run on stronger models and get more memory for large datasets.

Pricing

Julius moved from message limits to credits in June 2026, and trimmed its lineup again in October. Plus costs $20 a month, or $16 billed annually, with 2,000 monthly credits. Pro costs $45, or $37 annually, with 5,000 credits. Business costs $450 a month, or $375 annually, with 60,000 credits and room for up to 50 team members. Paid plans also get 100 refresh credits a day. Enterprise is custom and adds unlimited credits, custom connectors and admin controls. Earlier reviews reported a 50% discount for students and educators.

What to Watch Out For

Heavier tasks burn more credits, so the monthly bill is harder to forecast than the plan price suggests. Uploaded files are deleted after seven days on every plan except Enterprise, so keep originals elsewhere. Julius retired its Notebooks feature in August 2026, removing a way to save repeatable step-by-step analyses. The jump from Pro to Business is steep for small teams. As with any AI analyst, check the generated code before relying on a figure.

Recent News

Julius raised a $10 million seed round in July 2025, led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with backing from Y Combinator and angels including Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas.
