Polimorphic says its customers have seen voicemails drop by up to 90% and walk-in requests by 75% after putting its AI front desk in place. The New York startup sells an AI voice agent, website chatbot and resident service system built only for local governments, from small towns to counties and special districts.
Its pitch is that residents get answers at any hour, in more than 75 languages, while clerks spend less time on repeat questions about permits, licenses and payments.
How It Works
The voice agent picks up a government office’s calls, answers common questions, starts a service request or routes the caller to the right staff member. The same knowledge feeds a chatbot and site search on the government’s website, plus SMS and email. Residents can apply for permits and licenses, submit forms and check status online, and requests land in a Constituent Relationship Manager that tracks each one to resolution. Dashboards show what residents ask about most.
Polimorphic says it serves hundreds of public-sector departments across the US. Named customers include Pacifica, California; Tooele County, Utah; and Littleton, Colorado, which the company says cut calls by half. Its Series A announcement listed agentic AI for reviewing applications and GIS-based resident support as next steps.
Pricing
There is no price list on the company’s site. Its basic website and phone bots are reported to be priced by population, starting at a few hundred dollars a month, with extra services priced by the number of users. The AI Voice product is also listed on AWS Marketplace at $2.00 per call handled on a 12-month contract, with discounts for longer terms. That rate applies to every call the agent picks up, including ones it transfers to staff or sends to voicemail.
What to Watch Out For
Per-call billing can add up for offices with heavy seasonal volume, and the marketplace listing offers no refunds, only cancellation at the end of a term. The pages we reviewed point buyers to a Trust Center rather than naming certifications, so procurement teams should request security documents early. Outcome figures come from the company and its customers. This entry is based on published information, not hands-on testing.
