Netcracker offers more than 60 pre-built AI agents for telecom operators, covering jobs from quoting enterprise deals to isolating network faults. The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan’s NEC based in Waltham, Massachusetts, has sold billing, operations and network software to carriers for more than three decades, and its Agentic AI Solution puts agents on top of that software.
The pitch is moving agentic AI out of pilots and into production at carrier scale, with guardrails that let operators control what the agents may change.
How It Works
The product has three layers. Ready-to-deploy agents handle telecom tasks in customer experience, business operations and network operations. An Open Agentic AI Platform, with an Agent Design Studio, lets operators build their own. An AI Trust & Control layer sets the rules and limits agents work within. Agents are embedded in Netcracker’s IT products, such as configure-price-quote, revenue management, resource inventory and service orchestration, so they act on live operator systems instead of in a separate chat window.
On the revenue side, Netcracker says agents drive personalized upsell offers, simplify complex B2B sales and help operators sell into satellite and enterprise markets. In care, they give human agents real-time insights and act on churn risks. In the network, they isolate and repair faults and optimize capacity on demand across fiber, mobile and satellite. The platform works with any large language model and supports the Model Context Protocol and Agent2Agent standards.
Pricing
Netcracker does not publish prices. Contracts are negotiated directly with operators, and there is no self-serve or trial option.
What to Watch Out For
Public materials describe what the agents can do but name few operators running specific agents in production, and they include no measured results. Buyers should ask for reference deployments, how the Trust & Control layer approves actions in billing or the network, and what happens when an agent gets something wrong. The product is designed for carriers, so it is not a fit for small providers or companies outside telecom.
