At Philippine carrier PLDT, early results show more than 90% of customer requests resolved through Amdocs aOS, according to the company’s May 2026 earnings call. aOS is an agentic operating system for telecom operators: a layer of AI agents that sits on top of billing, ordering, care and network systems and works through those processes with staff oversight.
Amdocs introduced aOS in February 2026. It absorbed the company’s earlier amAIz generative AI suite, which now lives on as the platform’s Cognitive Core, so buyers searching for amAIz will find its features here.
How It Works
aOS has three parts. The Cognitive Core is the AI foundation, with libraries of telco agents and sub-agents covering product and marketing, sales and ordering, care, monetization, service delivery and network management. CES26 is Amdocs’ own agent-driven BSS, OSS and network suite. The third part is a services arm that designs and runs multi-agent projects such as cloud migration and quality engineering.
Amdocs says aOS runs on top of any BSS/OSS stack, not only its own, and can work with several LLMs on any cloud or on premises. Agents connect through REST APIs, MCP and agent-to-agent (A2A) protocols. The bill explainer, which started in amAIz, remains the main use case: a customer asks why a bill went up and an agent answers in chat or another channel instead of a long call. Agents follow rules the operator defines, and people stay involved for final decisions.
Pricing
Amdocs does not publish prices. Its product page calls the Cognitive Core consumption-based, and executives told investors in March 2026 that they were still weighing models, including charging by token. Deals are negotiated with each operator, and there is no free plan or self-serve trial.
What to Watch Out For
This is carrier software sold through long enterprise projects, so it suits tier one and mid-size operators rather than small providers. Most performance numbers on Amdocs’ pages, such as a 63% cut in handling time, are vendor figures without a named customer or method. The company’s own chief executive said in May 2026 that aOS was early and not yet a meaningful revenue contributor. The pages reviewed list no security certification for aOS specifically.
