Calix Agent Workforce Score

Our editorial score across six weighted criteria, based on Calix Agent Workforce’s published documentation, pricing and public user ratings. How we score

  • Autonomy8.5

Agents detect and correlate outages, send outage notifications, score churn risk and build campaigns, with Service Cloud diagnostics and guided resolution workflows listed as coming soon in May 2026.

  • Ease of Setup7.0

The agents run inside the Calix platform and draw on Calix equipment, Calix Cloud and OSS/BSS data, with Calix Success services handling AI activation.

  • Pricing Value6.0

Calix shares pricing for the Agent Workforce and Calix One through its experts; a published guide would help providers compare.

  • Integrations8.3

Agents pull data from OSS/BSS systems and use MCP servers for campaign, ticketing and workforce systems on a Google Cloud stack, and they are built around Calix devices and apps.

  • Trust and Security8.3

Calix documents least-privilege access, encryption, Cloud Armor, audit trails and human-in-the-loop supervision; naming certifications for the agent product would help buyers.

  • User Sentiment8.8

G2 rates the Calix Broadband Platform 4.7 from 3 reviews, weighted because the sample is small and covers the platform rather than the agents.

Calix says it has spent more than $100 million on agentic AI since November 2023, and the Calix Agent Workforce is where that money shows up for operators: AI agents that watch the access network, flag subscribers likely to churn, alert customers to outages and help technicians on site. The agents are built into the Calix platform, which Calix says more than 1,200 broadband providers use, and run on Google Cloud with Gemini models.

It is best for fiber and broadband providers already standardized on Calix equipment and Calix Cloud that want one set of agents for marketing, customer care, network operations and field work. The agents depend on Calix data, pricing is shared by quote, and some service workflows were still listed as coming soon in May 2026. Pricing is by custom quote, and we rate it 7.8/10 on our scale. We have not used the product; this review is based on Calix’s product pages, press releases and a third-party review listing.

Agents for Five Teams After $100 Million in AI Spending

  • Calix announced the Agent Workforce on October 20, 2025, after investing more than $100 million in agentic AI since November 2023, according to the company.
  • Agents cover five groups: marketing, customer service, subscribers in the CommandIQ app, network operations and field technicians.
  • The platform runs on Google Cloud, using Vertex AI, BigQuery, Spanner and agents built with the Agent Development Kit on Gemini and other models.
  • Calix cites up to 65% higher first-call resolution and up to 65% revenue growth from targeted campaigns, both from its own internal data.
  • Pricing is shared by quote; the agents are sold as part of the Calix One platform.

Press Release Numbers From a NYSE-Listed Vendor

Calix is a public company (NYSE: CALX), so most of the hard numbers come from its own press releases. They describe the scale of the platform and Calix’s investment more than independent results.

The investment figures matter because they suggest the agents are a long-term bet rather than a feature bolted onto Calix Cloud. The Google Cloud alignment also means the agents use a mainstream model and data stack instead of a proprietary one.

The 65% figures are best read in context. Both are phrased as results “as high as” and come from Calix’s internal data, and the 73% ARPU figure comes from earlier customer releases about the platform rather than about the agents. They show the upside a well-run provider might reach rather than a typical outcome.

A Platform Layer Grouped by the Team Each Agent Serves

The Agent Workforce is a layer of the Calix platform, not a separate app. Agents are grouped by the team they serve and appear in the tools those teams already use: Engagement Cloud for marketing, Service Cloud for customer care, Operations Cloud for network teams, the CommandIQ app for subscribers and the Field Service App for technicians.

The Four Platform Layers

  • Data: subscriber, premises and network data from Calix devices, the provider’s OSS and BSS systems and trusted partners, combined into one governed source.
  • Knowledge: knowledge graphs, machine learning models and embeddings, with Graph RAG and MCP servers pulling in campaign, trouble ticketing and workforce data.
  • Orchestration: coordinates several specialized agents and breaks cross-team goals into steps.
  • Trust and security: governs data privacy, access, agent autonomy and business rules, with audit trails and human-in-the-loop supervision.

Speed Scans, Churn Scores and Outage Support

  • Service agents: run speed and performance scans to find subscribers with speed or latency problems, score churn risk from network health, support contacts and outages, and look for poor in-home Wi-Fi, then recommend retention actions.
  • Operations agents: detect outages, correlate alarms, assess impact, warn early of PON and ONT degradation and track service assurance and SLAs.
  • Marketing agents: scan competitor pricing and reviews, build subscriber segments for upsell and retention, and create and refine targeted campaigns.
  • Subscriber agents: answer questions in CommandIQ chat, alert affected subscribers to outages and analyze home Wi-Fi setup.
  • Field agents: automate diagnostics, guide troubleshooting and help technicians complete installations.

First-Line Agents Hand Off to Service Reps

Calix frames the product as human and AI collaboration. Subscriber agents act as the first line of support and hand off to a service rep when needed. Many service and marketing agents recommend actions rather than take them, and the trust layer keeps humans supervising agent decisions. In May 2026 Calix said AI-driven diagnostics and guided resolution in Service Cloud were coming soon, and described AI automation in Operations Cloud as groundwork.

An Outage Handled Agent by Agent

Calix’s own descriptions suggest how the pieces connect during an outage. Operations agents detect the fault and correlate alarms to judge its impact. Engagement Cloud then sends alerts to affected subscribers through CommandIQ, and the subscriber chat agent answers follow-up questions with the same knowledge a service rep sees. Afterward, churn-prevention agents can flag homes hit by repeated outages so the care team can reach out with a retention offer. Staff supervise the process, and the trust layer governs how much the agents may do on their own.

Licensing Modules and Connecting OSS and BSS Data

There is no self-serve sign-up. Providers work with Calix to license the relevant Calix Cloud modules, connect OSS and BSS data and activate agents, with help from Calix Success. Providers already on Calix Cloud and CommandIQ start with most of the data in place.

Sizing Churn Prevention and Support Work

Without list prices, the useful exercise is sizing the work the agents target. The figures below are our own illustrative assumptions, not Calix data.

  • Churn prevention: a provider with 20,000 subscribers where 4% show speed or Wi-Fi problems in a month has 800 at-risk accounts to review. If the service agent ranks them and a retention team works the top 25%, that is 200 targeted calls instead of 800.
  • Outage communication: an outage affecting 1,500 homes would otherwise drive a spike of calls. Automated alerts through CommandIQ are meant to reach those subscribers before they call; if each avoided call takes 12 minutes, 1,500 avoided calls is 300 hours of care time.
  • Field work: guided diagnostics matter most where truck rolls are expensive, such as rural fiber networks with long drive times.

Costs to plan for beyond the license: Calix equipment if you are not already on it, data integration from OSS and BSS systems, staff time to tune segments and campaigns, and the CommandIQ app rollout to subscribers.

Calix Agent Workforce Compared With Amdocs aOS, Netcracker Agentic AI and ServiceNow AI Agents for Telecom

Most telecom agent platforms are sold to large mobile and cable operators. Calix is the outlier, aimed at broadband providers of any size that run its access equipment.

Calix Agent WorkforceCustom quoteNoAgents tied to Calix home and access-network data across marketing, care, operations and fieldRequires the Calix platformFiber and broadband providers on Calix

ServiceNow AI Agents for TelecomCustom quoteNoConnects customer cases with network incidents and field repairsRequires the ServiceNow platformOperators already running ServiceNow

If you already run Calix equipment, the Agent Workforce has the shortest path to data, because the subscriber and network signals are already in Calix Cloud. Larger operators with mixed vendors and complex billing will find Amdocs, Netcracker or ServiceNow a closer fit. More options are in our AI agents for telecom guide, and subscriber-facing alternatives are in our customer support agents guide.

Broadband Providers Already on Calix Cloud

  • Broadband providers already on Calix Cloud: the agents use data you already collect, so the setup effort is lower than with a new vendor.
  • Fiber operators fighting churn: speed, Wi-Fi and churn-risk agents are built to find unhappy subscribers before they cancel.
  • Providers with small marketing teams: segment and campaign agents help a few people run targeted offers across residential, business and MDU markets.
  • Operators with costly truck rolls: field agents and remote Wi-Fi diagnostics are aimed at fixing more problems without a visit.
  • Teams that want human oversight built in: the trust layer, audit trails and handoffs to service reps suit providers wary of fully autonomous agents.

Other Access Vendors and Mobile Operators May Need a Different Platform

  • Providers on other access vendors: the agents rely on Calix device and cloud data, so their value is highest on Calix equipment.
  • Mobile network operators: the catalog targets fixed broadband, PON and in-home Wi-Fi rather than radio or core networks.
  • Buyers who need price transparency: pricing is shared through sales, without a public trial.
  • Teams wanting fully automated care today: some service workflows were still described as coming soon in May 2026.

Platform Commitment and Self-Reported Results

  • Platform commitment: the more agents you adopt, the deeper you commit to Calix equipment and Calix Cloud. Ask about data export and multi-vendor support before you sign.
  • Vendor-reported results: the 65% figures for first-call resolution and campaign revenue are best cases from Calix’s internal data.
  • Roadmap versus shipping: Calix’s own May 2026 release separates live enhancements from AI workflows still to come. Ask for a list of agents generally available in your contract.
  • Independent reviews: G2 shows 3 reviews for the Calix platform, so reference calls with providers of your size are useful.
  • Subscriber-facing AI: chat answers in CommandIQ reach your customers directly, so review handoff rules and test answers on billing and outage questions.

Calix Providers Have Reason to Look Closely

For broadband providers already running Calix, it is worth a serious look. The Calix Agent Workforce scores 7.8/10 on our scale: solid on autonomy and integration with Calix data, low on pricing value and ease of setup because everything is quoted and tied to the Calix platform. The agent catalog is broad, covering churn, outages, Wi-Fi, campaigns and field work, and the trust layer with audit trails and human supervision suits operators that want control.

For anyone else, the value drops quickly, because the agents depend on Calix devices and cloud data. Before signing, ask Calix which agents are generally available, how results are measured against the 65% best cases, and what reference customers of your size have seen.

Calix One Licensing and Agent Costs

How Much Does Calix Agent Workforce Cost?

Calix does not publish prices. The agents come with the Calix One platform and Calix Cloud modules, priced by custom quote after a conversation with a Calix expert.

Does Calix Agent Workforce Work Without Calix Equipment?

The agents draw on subscriber, premises and network data from Calix devices, combined with the provider’s OSS and BSS data. Calix markets the product to providers on its platform, so most of the value comes with Calix equipment and Calix Cloud.

Which AI Models Does Calix Use?

Calix says its agents are built with Google’s Agent Development Kit using Gemini and other specialized models, and run on Google Cloud services such as Vertex AI, BigQuery, Spanner and GKE.

Can the Agents Talk to Subscribers Directly?

Yes. Subscriber agents answer chat in the CommandIQ app, handle calls as a first line of support, send outage alerts and hand off to a service rep when needed.

How Is Calix Different From Amdocs or Netcracker?

Calix focuses on broadband providers running its access equipment and home Wi-Fi systems, with agents for churn, outages and field work. Amdocs and Netcracker sell agent platforms built around billing, ordering and OSS and BSS systems for larger operators.

Features

  • Service agents for speed tests, churn prevention and Wi-Fi optimization
