DealerAI Score

Our editorial score across six weighted criteria, based on DealerAI’s published documentation, pricing and public user ratings. How we score

  • Autonomy8.8

Separate sales, service, parts, voice and follow-up agents book appointments and run SMS and email sequences on their own, escalating on unclear intent or deal-critical questions.

  • Ease of Setup8.5

Onboarding is included with no setup fee on monthly plans, and DealerAI quotes one to two weeks per rooftop, though there is no self-serve trial.

  • Pricing Value8.8

Per-rooftop prices from $599 a month are published with unlimited users and month-to-month terms, but voice minutes and SMS overages add usage costs.

  • Integrations8.5

It connects to VinSolutions, DealerSocket, Elead, CDK and Reynolds via ADF, Xtime, Tekion and TMS on higher plans, inventory feeds, Zapier, n8n and a full API.

  • Trust and Security8.8

DealerAI states SOC 2 Type II and PIPEDA compliance, region-pinned data and no training of foundation models on conversations.

  • User Sentiment7.5

Public ratings have not appeared yet, so this is a neutral score.

DealerAI publishes what most dealership AI vendors keep behind a demo: $599 a rooftop a month for its chatbot plan, $1,499 for multi-agent follow-up and $2,299 for the full suite with voice. For a dealer who wants AI on the website, in the text inbox and on the phone, and wants to know the cost before the first sales call, it is one of the clearest options available.

The main point to plan for is that the sticker price is a starting figure. Voice AI comes with the top plan and is metered per minute, and heavy texting adds overage packs. We rate DealerAI 8.5/10 on our scale. We have not used DealerAI ourselves; this review is based on DealerAI’s published pricing, product pages, blog and case studies.

Per-Rooftop Plans From $599 With Unlimited Users

  • Three published plans: Basic $599, Reach $1,499 and All-in-One $2,299 per rooftop a month, all with unlimited users.
  • Month-to-month terms with 30 days’ notice, no setup fee on monthly plans and 15% off for annual billing.
  • Separate agents for sales, service, parts, voice and follow-up, with escalation on unclear intent or deal-critical questions.
  • Campbell River Toyota reached an 85% inbound SMS reply rate with Reach, and Volvo Cars Markham sold 6 vehicles from one week of re-engagement.
  • SOC 2 Type II and PIPEDA compliance, with data pinned to Canada or the US and no foundation-model training on conversations.

Pricing Page and Named Dealership Case Studies

DealerAI’s numbers come almost entirely from its own pricing page and case studies, which name the dealerships involved.

The case studies measure replies, call requests and appointments rather than gross profit, and the stores are mostly mid-sized Canadian franchises. That makes them useful for judging whether customers answer the AI, and less useful for predicting sales. The Volvo Cars Markham result, 6 vehicles sold from about 225 replies in a week, is the closest thing to a revenue figure.

For buyers, the pricing data matters more. Published rates, unlimited users and month-to-month terms let a single store test the product for one or two months at a known cost, which is rare in this category.

Specialist Agents Instead of One Chatbot

DealerAI is built as a multi-agent system: instead of one chatbot that answers everything, specialist agents take the parts of the conversation they are trained for.

The Sales Agent, Service Agent and Their Siblings

  • Sales agent: handles shopping questions, decides when to nurture and when to push for an appointment and flags hot leads from website browsing.
  • Service agent: knows maintenance schedules, judges repair urgency and follows service workflows, booking into Xtime or Tekion on higher plans.
  • Parts agent: answers availability and compatibility questions and spots cross-sell chances.
  • Voice agent: answers and places phone calls on All-in-One, switching expertise by caller need and transferring when needed.
  • Follow-up agent: runs ongoing SMS and email sequences, personalizes messages from customer behavior and decides when to pause or re-engage.

The Products Around Them

The website chatbot answers from the live inventory feed, schedules appointments and captures leads. Reach works the CRM database with inbound sequences, appointment reminders and lead re-engagement, and an automatic knowledge finder fills in dealership details. AI Workflow is a node-based automation engine for operations, and connections to Zapier (5,000+ apps via MCP) and n8n (50+ operations) extend it. A Chrome extension captures leads from any browser tab, and staff work from a portal and mobile apps.

Channel coverage depends on the plan. Basic covers the website chat, AI texting and Facebook and Instagram direct messages. Reach adds email follow-up and the multi-agent setup that splits sales, service and parts. Only All-in-One adds the phone, with inbound and outbound voice agents, outbound campaigns and an in-browser assistant for staff. Inventory comes from HomeNet, vAuto or native OEM feeds, which is what lets the chatbot answer questions about specific vehicles on the lot rather than generic model information.

Handoff and Guardrails

DealerAI escalates a conversation to a human queue on ambiguous intent, customer frustration or deal-critical questions. Admins can set topics the AI never handles alone, such as final pricing or financing terms. Leads go into the dealer CRM through the ADF standard, so the CRM stays the system of record.

A Live-Inventory Test Before You Sign

  • Discovery call: DealerAI runs the product against your live inventory before you sign.
  • Onboarding: included on monthly plans: CRM connection, inventory feed, knowledge-base ingestion and brand-voice tuning.
  • Go live: about one to two weeks for one rooftop, or one to three months for a staged multi-rooftop rollout with dedicated implementation on annual plans.

Escalations, Final Numbers and Appraisals Need Staff

Salespeople and service advisors take every escalated conversation, plus final numbers, trade appraisals and financing. Managers decide which topics stay off limits, review conversation logs and keep the knowledge base current with fees, hours and incentives. Because every plan includes unlimited users, the practical limit is staff attention: someone has to own the escalation queue during business hours, or the speed the AI gains at first contact is lost at handoff.

Basic, Reach and All-in-One per Rooftop

All prices are per rooftop, per month, with unlimited users and no per-seat fees, according to DealerAI’s pricing page.

A Single Store Starting With Chat

These scenarios use DealerAI’s published prices. Volumes are our own assumptions, and annual figures apply the stated 15% discount.

  • A single store starting with chat: Basic costs $599 a month, or $7,188 a year billed monthly. Paying annually at 15% off brings that to about $6,110 a year, or roughly $509 a month.
  • A three-rooftop group on Reach: three stores cost $4,497 a month. If each store sends 8,000 texts a month, each needs one extra 5,000-text pack at $100, bringing the total to $4,797 a month, before any volume discount the group negotiates.
  • A store that wants voice: All-in-One costs $2,299 a month, or $27,588 a year billed monthly, plus per-minute voice charges that DealerAI quotes separately. Ask for the per-minute rate in writing and model your monthly call volume before choosing this tier.

Hidden or variable costs: per-minute voice charges, SMS overage packs, one-time implementation fees for multi-rooftop rollouts and any fee your CRM or DMS vendor charges for third-party integration access.

DealerAI Compared With Matador AI, Impel, Podium AI Employee and Toma

DealerAI competes with AI BDC platforms on lead handling and with voice-first agents on the phones. It is the only one in this group with a public price list.

AgentStarting PriceFree PlanMain StrengthMain Trade-OffBest For
DealerAI$599 per rooftop a monthNoPublished prices, month-to-month terms, multi-agent across chat, SMS and voiceVoice only on the top plan, metered per minuteDealers who want price certainty

TomaCustom quoteNoVoice agents for service and parts phonesLess focus on lead re-engagementStores with unanswered service calls

If price transparency matters, DealerAI is the easiest to budget. Matador AI lists more integrations and has a bigger installed base, but asks for a six-month commitment. Toma is the stronger choice when service phones are the main problem. Impel and Podium AI Employee suit dealers who want AI inside a wider marketing or messaging platform and are comfortable negotiating price through sales. Single-Point Stores and Dealers With Big CRM Lists

  • Single-point stores that need a known monthly cost: published per-rooftop prices and month-to-month terms keep the risk small.
  • Dealers sitting on large CRM databases: Reach’s sequences and re-engagement campaigns drove reply rates of 27% to 85% in DealerAI’s case studies.
  • Canadian dealers: PIPEDA compliance and Canadian data residency by default suit stores with privacy reviews.
  • Stores with many users: unlimited users on every plan means BDC, sales and service staff can all work the inbox without seat fees.
  • Teams that automate with Zapier or n8n: DealerAI exposes operations to both and offers a full API on the top tier.

Voice-Only Shoppers and Free-Trial Seekers

  • Stores that only need voice on a budget: voice requires the $2,299 tier plus per-minute fees.
  • Buyers who need a free trial before any spend: DealerAI offers playgrounds and a discovery call, not a trial.
  • Large groups wanting OEM program funding: vendors such as Matador or Impel list OEM programs that can offset cost.
  • Businesses outside car retail: the agents, integrations and playbooks are built for dealerships.

Voice and SMS Overages in Busy Months

  • Usage on top of the plan: per-minute voice and SMS overages can push the bill well past the list price in busy months.
  • Vendor comparisons: DealerAI’s blog compares its multi-agent conversion rate with generic chatbots using its own figures. Treat them as claims and measure your own baseline.
  • Notice period: the pricing page says cancel anytime while the FAQ specifies 30 days’ notice; confirm the notice term in your agreement.
  • Integration depth by plan: Xtime, Tekion, TMS and eLeads connections only come with Reach and above, so Basic stores rely on ADF lead delivery.
  • Consent for texting and calling: outbound SMS and voice campaigns must respect opt-outs and calling rules, which stay the dealer’s responsibility.

Published Prices and Real Autonomy Earn a 7.0

DealerAI scores 8.5/10 on our scale. It does well on pricing value, autonomy and security: published per-rooftop prices with unlimited users, specialist agents that book appointments and run follow-up on their own, and SOC 2 Type II with region-pinned data. Public ratings and deeper integrations on every plan would lift the score further.

For a single store or small group that wants to try AI on chat, text and the phones without signing a long contract, it is one of the most practical starting points. Start on Basic or Reach, measure reply and appointment rates for 60 days and move to All-in-One only once you know your call volume and the per-minute voice rate. Larger groups should ask for the volume quote that starts at three rooftops, the implementation scope and named US references before committing across every store. Stores that need OEM co-op funding or the widest set of CRM integrations may get more from a quote-based rival, but they will give up the price certainty that makes DealerAI easy to approve.

Rooftop Costs and Voice Minute Charges

How Much Does DealerAI Cost per Rooftop?

Basic costs $599 per rooftop a month, Reach $1,499 and All-in-One $2,299, each with unlimited users. Voice minutes on All-in-One are billed per minute, extra texts cost $100 per 5,000 and paying annually saves 15%.

Does DealerAI Offer a Free Trial?

No free trial is listed. DealerAI offers live playgrounds for its chatbot and Reach and a discovery call to see the agents run against your live inventory. Monthly plans can be cancelled with 30 days’ notice.

Which Dealer CRMs Does DealerAI Work With?

It sends leads to VinSolutions, DealerSocket, Elead, CDK and Reynolds through the ADF standard on every plan. Reach and All-in-One add Xtime, Tekion, TMS and eLeads integrations, and All-in-One includes full API access.

Does DealerAI Train AI Models on Dealer Conversations?

DealerAI says conversations are not used to train foundation models, data is pinned to Canada or the US depending on the rooftop, and customers can export or delete their data. It states SOC 2 Type II and PIPEDA compliance.

How Is DealerAI Different From Matador AI?

Both run multiple agents across text, chat and voice for dealerships. DealerAI publishes per-rooftop prices and runs month to month, while Matador quotes privately with a six-month minimum but lists more integrations and a larger installed base.
