Kindsight’s newest fundraising agent plans a major gift trip on its own: give it a city and it finds the priority donors nearby, books visits and drafts the outreach and meeting briefings. It runs inside software used by more than 4,500 organizations, and Kindsight’s own study of 1,224 fundraising decisions found 89% of fundraisers preferred AI-driven advice for planning those trips.
The agents suit advancement teams at universities, hospitals and nonprofits already on Kindsight’s Salesforce-based CRM or its iWave prospect research tool. Access is the main thing to plan for: pricing is by custom quote, the agents work inside Kindsight’s products, and several are in beta or limited availability. We rate them 7.9/10 on our scale. We have not used Kindsight ourselves; this review is based on Kindsight’s announcements, its published AI security policy and G2 reviews of iWave.
What Kindsight’s Trip Planning Agent Adds for Gift Officers
- The Trip Planning Agent finds nearby donors, schedules visits and drafts outreach and briefings; it launched at KindCon on September 2, 2026.
- In Kindsight’s study of 1,224 fundraising decisions, 89% preferred AI advice for trip planning, but 98% would reject AI acting without human oversight.
- The Screening Agent (beta) and Prospect Summary bring the agents into iWave, rated 4.6 from 567 G2 reviews.
- Models run privately on AWS Bedrock, customer data does not train them, and iWave holds SOC 2 Type II.
- Pricing is by custom quote, a Kindsight CRM or iWave subscription is required, and the Engagement Agent for donor outreach is still coming soon.
Kindsight’s 4,500 Customers and Other Company Figures

The research figures explain how Kindsight has shaped its agents. Fundraisers in its study were comfortable letting AI plan trips and rank prospects, the tasks the first agents handle, and much less comfortable with AI deciding sensitive gift questions or acting alone. That is why the live agents prepare plans and drafts for a person to approve rather than contacting donors directly.
For a buyer, the 4,500-customer base and the long-running iWave dataset matter more than any agent feature. An agent that ranks prospects is only as good as the wealth and giving data behind it, and iWave’s 567 G2 reviews suggest that data is widely used and generally well regarded.
How Kindsight Intelligence Reads Donor Records and iWave Data
Kindsight Intelligence is the company’s name for the AI built into its fundraising CRM and its iWave prospect research tool. The agents read an organization’s own donor records, combine them with iWave wealth and philanthropic data and produce plans, rankings and drafts.
Trip Planning Agent
A gift officer gives the agent a destination. It finds priority donors near that location, works out who to visit, schedules the visits and drafts the outreach messages and meeting briefings. This is the agent Kindsight announced as generally available at KindCon 2026, though still in limited availability. It addresses a task fundraisers in Kindsight’s own research were most willing to hand to AI: 89% preferred AI-driven advice for planning major gift trips.
Screening Agent
In iWave, the Screening Agent sets up a prospect screen from a few plain-language questions about the organization’s goals. It then interprets the results, sorts and ranks prospects and turns them into an action plan with recommended next steps. It was announced in June 2026 and is in beta.
Prospect Summary
Prospect Summary writes a customizable two-page brief on a prospect, combining internal giving history with iWave wealth and philanthropic signals. It replaces the manual work of pulling a profile together before a meeting and is in limited availability.
Announced but Not Yet Released
- Engagement Agent: runs end-to-end donor outreach campaigns for mid-tier and annual giving donors.
- KI Assistant: answers plain-language questions about an organization’s own data without building a report.
- Predictive Models in iWave: scores prospects to help prioritize them.
Visits, Outreach and Restricted Gifts Stay With Fundraisers
Fundraisers decide which visits to accept, edit and send outreach, run the meetings and handle any gift that needs judgment, such as restricted gifts, where 81% of respondents in Kindsight’s study preferred human experts. Until the Engagement Agent ships, no Kindsight agent runs donor campaigns on its own. Kindsight’s CPO describes the goal as helping teams interpret signals, prioritize opportunities and take the next best action, which places the person firmly in the loop.
Data and Models
According to Kindsight’s AI data privacy and security policy, its AI runs on large language models hosted on AWS Bedrock as a private copy, so customer data is not shared with model providers and is not used to train or improve the base models. Ascend has a global Zero Data Retention setting, and administrators control user access inside the CRM.
Custom Quotes Bundled Into CRM and iWave Subscriptions
Kindsight sells its agents as part of its CRM and iWave subscriptions on custom quotes. The table shows how each agent is packaged based on Kindsight’s announcements.
| Agent | Price | Billing | Included With | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trip Planning Agent | Custom quote | Subscription | Kindsight CRM (Kindsight Intelligence) | Limited availability |
| Screening Agent | Custom quote | Subscription | iWave (Kindsight Intelligence for iWave) | Beta |
| Prospect Summary | Custom quote | Subscription | iWave | Limited availability |
| Engagement Agent | Not yet released | Not yet released | Kindsight CRM | Coming soon |
| KI Assistant and Predictive Models | Not yet released | Not yet released | Kindsight CRM and iWave | Coming soon |
Kindsight Intelligence and iWave are available inside the AdvancementRM CRM, so organizations on that CRM get the most complete set.
Budgeting Kindsight Against Dataro’s Published Rates
Because Kindsight quotes each deal, the clearest way to budget is to compare against rivals with published prices. Donor counts below are our own illustrative assumptions.
- A mid-size charity with 20,000 active donors: Dataro, which publishes its rates, would cost $17,000 a year ($15,000 platform fee plus $0.10 per active donor). Use that as a reference point when you request a Kindsight quote.
- A university advancement office with 100,000 active donors: the same Dataro formula comes to $25,000 a year. At this size, an organization already paying for Kindsight’s CRM and iWave may get the agents within its existing contract.
- An organization not on Kindsight: adopting the agents means adopting the CRM or iWave as well, which turns a tool purchase into a platform decision with migration costs.
Ask Kindsight whether beta and limited-availability agents carry a separate fee, whether the future Engagement Agent will be priced by donor, campaign or seat, and how iWave screening volumes are counted.
Kindsight AI Agents Compared With Dataro, Blackbaud Development Agent and Virtuous Momentum
Fundraising agents mostly live inside a specific CRM, so the choice often follows the system you already run.
| Agent | Starting Price | Free Plan | Main Strength | Main Trade-Off | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kindsight AI Agents | Custom quote | No | Trip planning, prospect screening and briefs with iWave wealth data | Kindsight CRM or iWave required; several agents in beta | Advancement teams on Kindsight or iWave |
| Dataro | From $15,000 a year plus $0.10 per active donor | No | Published prices and works with several major nonprofit CRMs | $15,000 minimum platform fee | Mid-size and large charities on Raiser’s Edge NXT, Salesforce, HubSpot or Virtuous |
| Blackbaud Development Agent | Custom quote | No | Writes, sends and follows up on mid-level donor emails and texts on its own | Raiser’s Edge NXT customers in the US only | US nonprofits on Raiser’s Edge NXT |
| Virtuous Momentum | Custom quote | No | Daily priorities, donor plans and drafted outreach for gift officers | Does not send outreach on its own | Major and mid-level gift officers |
Kindsight’s agents are strongest at the research end of fundraising: knowing who to see and preparing for the meeting. Blackbaud’s agent goes further on autonomy today because it sends messages to mid-level donors, while Kindsight’s comparable Engagement Agent is still to come. Dataro suits charities that want scoring across several CRMs with published prices, and Momentum suits gift officers who want a daily to-do list. Advancement Teams Already Running Kindsight’s CRM
- Advancement teams already on Kindsight’s CRM: the agents run inside the system, with no extra data sync.
- iWave subscribers: the Screening Agent and Prospect Summary sit inside the research tool you already use.
- Major gift officers who travel: the Trip Planning Agent removes the work of finding nearby donors, booking visits and preparing briefings.
- University and hospital foundations: Kindsight lists education and healthcare among its main sectors.
- Organizations with strict data rules: private models on AWS Bedrock, no training on customer data and a Zero Data Retention option answer common board and IT questions.
Raiser’s Edge Shops and Small Nonprofits With Other Options
- Charities on Raiser’s Edge NXT, Bloomerang or Virtuous: switching CRMs for these agents is a large step; Blackbaud’s agent, Dataro or Momentum fit those systems.
- Teams that want outreach sent automatically today: the Engagement Agent is announced but not yet released.
- Small nonprofits with tight budgets: the agents come with enterprise fundraising software on custom quotes.
- Buyers who need a published price list: Dataro publishes its fees; Kindsight does not.
- Teams that need everything in general release: several agents are in beta or limited availability.
Beta Labels and Announced Features to Confirm Before Signing
- Availability labels: the Screening Agent is in beta and the Trip Planning Agent and Prospect Summary are in limited availability, so confirm your organization can turn them on before signing.
- Announced features: the Engagement Agent, KI Assistant and predictive models are announced as coming soon, so base the decision on what is live today.
- Platform fit: the agents work inside Kindsight’s CRM and iWave, so their value depends on staying on that platform.
- Ratings scope: the 4.6 G2 rating from 567 reviews covers iWave overall, not the new agents.
- Data accuracy: wealth and philanthropic data drives screening and briefs; check prospect profiles before using them in donor conversations.
- Human review: Kindsight’s own study found 98% of fundraisers would reject AI acting without oversight, so build approval steps into how drafts and trip plans are used.
The KindCon 2026 Launch and June Kindsight Intelligence Update
- On September 2, 2026, Kindsight launched its Trip Planning Agent and expanded Kindsight Intelligence at its KindCon conference, adding a Screening Agent beta and Prospect Summary for iWave and previewing an Engagement Agent for donor outreach.
- On June 2, 2026, Kindsight extended Kindsight Intelligence to iWave with a Screening Agent and automated prospect summaries, after launching it for its CRM earlier in the year.
Strong Data Protections and a 5.7 Score on Our Scale
For advancement teams already on Kindsight’s CRM or iWave, yes: the agents take real preparation work off gift officers and come with strong data protections. Kindsight AI Agents score 7.9/10 on our scale, with room to grow on published pricing, availability beyond Kindsight customers and general release of the agents now in beta or limited availability. Security and the depth of iWave data are the strongest parts.
For organizations on another CRM, these agents are not a reason to switch on their own. Revisit once the Engagement Agent ships and Kindsight shows how it handles donor outreach with human review, which its own research says fundraisers expect.
