Loman AI says its phone agent now answers calls in more than 1,500 restaurants, with plans starting at $199 a month. The Austin startup’s agent takes orders, collects payment, books tables and answers menu questions, then sends orders straight into the restaurant’s point-of-sale system.
Founder and CEO Christian Wiens started the company in 2024. Its pitch is simple: busy kitchens miss calls, and missed calls are lost orders.
How It Works
A restaurant connects its POS and reservation systems, uploads its menu and sets rules for which calls go to staff. Loman says most restaurants are live in under 24 hours, and it offers a managed setup for those who want one. From then on the agent answers every call, including several at once, takes pickup and delivery orders with modifiers and substitutions, suggests add-ons and collects card details, which the company describes as PCI compliant.
Orders reach the kitchen the same way online orders do. Loman lists integrations with Toast, SpotOn, Shift4, Clover, Square, Aloha by NCR, Olo and Stream, plus OpenTable and Resy for bookings. Multi-location groups can share one menu while keeping separate phone lines and hours. When a caller needs a person, the agent transfers the call or takes a voicemail with a transcript. Loman claims early adopters have seen up to 22% more revenue and 17% lower labor costs, figures it has not independently verified.
Pricing
Loman’s own materials say plans start at $199 a month as a flat fee without per-minute charges. Third-party reviews report a Starter tier of roughly $199 to $249 per location covering answering, FAQs and transfers, and a Premium tier of roughly $299 to $529 that adds ordering, reservations, POS integration and phone payments. Enterprise pricing is custom. There is no free trial, only a demo.
What to Watch Out For
A competitor’s review of Loman’s terms reports fixed terms of one to twelve months that auto-renew, with remaining fees due on early exit, an unpublished setup fee and a 99% uptime target without service credits. Read the order form closely. No SOC 2 report is published, which matters for a product that takes card numbers. Independent reviews are still scarce.
