“Charge all no-shows from Tuesday’s 6am class” is one of the example requests PushPress gives for its AI Assistant, and the assistant carries it out. Built into PushPress Core gym software, it answers questions about revenue, check-ins and members, then charges fees, invoices members, updates memberships and books classes when asked. It comes with the Pro and Max plans, which Capterra lists at $159 and $229 a month.
The assistant suits owners of CrossFit boxes, martial arts gyms and small independent gyms already on PushPress who spend evenings on billing and admin. Its scope is focused: it works on request, for staff, inside PushPress, and lead or member conversations sit with other PushPress products. We rate it 8.6/10 on our scale. We have not used it ourselves; this review is based on PushPress’s product page, help center and blog, and Capterra’s pricing listing.
Included in PushPress Pro at $159 and Max at $229
- Included with PushPress Core Pro ($159 a month) and Max ($229 a month) as listed on Capterra; the free plan for up to 100 members does not include it.
- It takes real actions on request: charging no-shows in bulk, invoicing members, updating memberships and booking classes.
- PushPress says no setup is needed, and the assistant respects each staff member’s existing permissions.
- Capterra rates PushPress 4.7 out of 5 from 187 reviews, a score for the whole platform.
- Unlike Mindbody AI Concierge, Replify and SalesRevv, it is owner-facing; it does not talk to leads or members.

The most useful number for a buyer is the price: the assistant adds nothing to the Pro or Max bill, so the real decision is whether PushPress Core is the right gym software. Capterra puts Pro at the upper end of its category, so the assistant is part of what that premium buys.
The 70% busywork figure comes from PushPress itself. The more concrete evidence is the action list: bulk no-show charges and back-dated invoices are the kind of tasks that otherwise take several clicks per member.
An Assistant Inside PushPress Core’s Gym Data
The assistant lives in PushPress Core, the company’s gym management product for scheduling, billing, check-ins and memberships. It reads the same data staff see and acts through the same functions.
Asking Questions
Staff open the assistant from an icon or prompt bar on the dashboard and type in plain language. PushPress’s examples include “What’s going on with my gym this week?” and “Who has a pending cancellation?” The assistant can cover revenue trends, check-ins, member status, at-risk members, cancellations, payment history and overall gym health, and its answers name the members involved. Follow-up questions continue the same conversation.
Taking Actions
- Charge fees: for example, charge every no-show from a given class in one request.
- Invoice members: PushPress’s example is invoicing a named member for the past four months.
- Update memberships: change a member’s plan or status without hunting through screens.
- Book classes: put a member into a class from the chat.
- Flag risk: surface at-risk members and pending cancellations so staff can follow up.
If an action cannot be completed, the assistant explains why and sends the user to the right place in Core to finish it by hand.
No Configuration Needed After Early Access
PushPress says no setup or configuration is needed. During early access, gyms joined a waitlist and the assistant carried a beta label; the help center lists the checks if it does not appear: a Pro or Max plan, early access where applicable, the right account and an up-to-date browser or app.
Nothing Happens Until Someone Asks
Everything starts with a person asking. The assistant does not run scheduled tasks on its own, talk to members or chase leads; PushPress’s separate Grow add-on is sold for automated lead engagement. Staff also need to check bulk actions such as charges before relying on them, and handle anything the assistant routes back to the regular screens.
How It Fits With the Rest of PushPress
PushPress sells several products around Core: Grow for automated lead engagement, Train for workout tracking, a Branded Member App and gym insurance. Train carries programming from partners such as Invictus, HWPO, PRVN, Mayhem and HYROX. Core itself connects to Stripe for payments and to tools such as Mailchimp, Slack, Zapier, Facebook Ads and Google Analytics. The assistant works on the Core side of that stack, so its reach is billing, memberships, schedules and reporting rather than marketing or programming.
Where PushPress Says It Is Heading
In its October 2025 AI-first post, PushPress described a front desk AI assistant that can talk with leads and members around the clock, handle sign-ups, automate lead follow-up and tour scheduling, draft marketing emails and social posts and flag at-risk members. CEO Dan Uyemura framed the approach as human-driven AI meant to support coaches. Treat the parts beyond the current assistant as plans until they appear in your account.
No Separate Fee on Pro and Max Plans
The AI Assistant has no separate fee. It comes with PushPress Core Pro and Max, priced as below on Capterra’s listing.
| Plan | Price | Billing | What’s Included | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Free | 100 members, waitlisting, appointments, product selling, workout tracking, 1 event, pre-orders | No AI Assistant |
| Pro | $159 a month | Monthly, flat rate | Payroll, leads, store app, check-in app, member app, waitlisting, AI Assistant | Grow and Branded App are add-ons |
| Max | $229 a month | Monthly, flat rate | Adds analytics and reports, events, documents, payroll management, third-party integrations, AI Assistant | Grow and Branded App are add-ons |
Capterra also lists a free trial. Card processing runs through Stripe, so payment fees apply on top of the subscription.
A 150-Member CrossFit Box on Pro
These scenarios use Capterra’s listed prices. Member counts are our own illustrative assumptions.
- A 150-member CrossFit box on Pro: $159 a month is $1,908 a year, or about $1.06 per member a month, with the assistant included.
- A 300-member gym on Max: $229 a month is $2,748 a year, about 76 cents per member a month, and adds reporting and third-party integrations.
- Moving from Pro to Max: the $70 monthly difference is $840 a year; it buys reports, events and integrations rather than more AI.
Variable costs to plan for: Stripe payment processing, the Grow add-on if you want automated lead follow-up, and the Branded Member App add-on. A gym moving from the free plan pays the full Pro price to get the assistant.
PushPress AI Assistant Compared With Mindbody AI Concierge, Replify and SalesRevv
All four are AI tools built for gyms, but they do different jobs. PushPress AI Assistant helps owners run the back office; the other three talk to clients and leads.
| Agent | Starting Price | Free Plan | Main Strength | Main Trade-Off | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PushPress AI Assistant | $159 a month with Pro (reported) | No (Core free plan excludes it) | Billing and membership actions by plain-language request | Owner-facing only; acts on request | PushPress gyms with heavy admin |
| Mindbody AI Concierge | Included with Mindbody Ultimate (quote) | No | Books and reschedules for clients from live schedules | Mindbody only and not on Starter | Studios on Mindbody Ultimate |
| Replify by ABC Fitness | Custom quote | No | Voice, SMS, email and chat agents for leads and members | Quote-only pricing | Gyms on ABC software |
| SalesRevv | $399 a month, first month free | No | Lead follow-up and membership sales | Sales-only focus | Boutique studios and franchises |
For a PushPress gym, the assistant is the cheapest AI option because it comes with the plan. It does not replace a lead-facing agent, so a gym losing prospects to slow replies would pair it with Grow or a sales agent. Mindbody and ABC customers get member-facing agents inside their own platforms instead. Pricing is the other contrast. PushPress publishes its plan prices and includes the assistant in them, while Replify is quoted, Mindbody AI Concierge is bundled into a quoted Ultimate plan, and SalesRevv is a separate $399 subscription. A PushPress gym could add SalesRevv-style lead follow-up for less than many all-in-one platforms charge, but would then run two systems. More options are in our AI agents for fitness and small business AI agents guides.
Owners Who Run Billing Themselves
- PushPress Pro and Max gyms: the assistant is already included, so there is nothing to buy.
- Owners who handle billing themselves: bulk no-show charges and back invoices take one request instead of many clicks.
- Gyms watching churn: at-risk members and pending cancellations surface on request, with names.
- Small teams without a full-time manager: plain-language reports on revenue and check-ins replace manual digging.
- Gyms with mixed staff roles: permissions carry over, so front desk staff cannot reach what they could not reach before.
Gyms Off PushPress and Lead-Chasing Operators
- Gyms not on PushPress: the assistant only exists inside PushPress Core.
- Operators who need lead follow-up: the assistant does not contact prospects; look at Grow, SalesRevv or Replify.
- Studios needing a phone or chat agent for members: it does not answer calls or texts.
- Gyms happy on the free plan: the assistant requires Pro or Max.
- Large multi-site clubs: the gyms PushPress names are mostly independent boxes and gyms, so confirm multi-location reporting and permissions in a demo.
Bulk Charges From a Single Request
- Bulk billing: a single request can charge many members, so read the action back before confirming.
- On-request only: nothing happens unless someone asks, so it does not replace scheduled automations.
- Early access history: the assistant launched behind a waitlist with a beta label, and PushPress says its abilities will grow with use.
- Platform premium: Capterra notes Pro’s $159 starting price is toward the higher end of alternatives.
- Roadmap versus product: the member-facing front desk assistant described in PushPress’s AI-first post is a separate plan; confirm what is live in your account.
Questions to Ask Before You Upgrade
- Confirmation: does the assistant show a summary before it charges or invoices several members at once?
- Audit trail: can you see which charges and membership changes the assistant made, and on whose request?
- Refunds: how do you reverse a charge made in error, and does the assistant help with that?
- Roles: which staff roles can use billing actions through the assistant?
- Roadmap: when will the member-facing front desk assistant reach your plan, and at what price?
PushPress’s AI-First Plan From October 2025
- On October 27, 2025, PushPress published its AI-first plan, written by head of content Liz Childers, with CEO Dan Uyemura describing human-driven AI for coaches.
One-Request Billing Chores for Pro and Max Gyms
For gyms already on PushPress Pro or Max, yes: it costs nothing extra and turns multi-step billing and membership chores into one request. It scores 8.6/10 on our scale, carried by easy setup, clear pricing and strong platform reviews, with room to grow in autonomy, since it acts when asked and inside PushPress.
For gyms choosing software, the assistant is a reason to look at PushPress rather than a product to buy on its own. If your bigger problem is unanswered leads, a member-facing agent such as Replify, SalesRevv or Mindbody AI Concierge will do more for revenue.
A sensible way to judge it is to list the admin jobs that eat your week, such as chasing no-show fees, fixing membership changes and pulling revenue numbers for a partner meeting, then try each one through the assistant during the trial. If most of them come back done in one request, the assistant is earning its place in the plan. If you often land on the fallback screens, the time saved will be smaller, and the 70% busywork figure is best read as an upper bound.
Free Use, Actions and Staff Permissions in PushPress
Is PushPress AI Assistant Free?
It has no separate fee, but it requires PushPress Core Pro or Max, which Capterra lists at $159 and $229 a month. PushPress’s free plan for up to 100 members does not include it.
What Can PushPress AI Assistant Do on Its Own?
It can charge fees such as no-shows, invoice members, update memberships and book classes when a staff member asks. It also answers questions about revenue, check-ins, cancellations and at-risk members.
Does the Assistant Respect Staff Permissions on Restricted Data?
PushPress says the assistant only shows data and performs actions the logged-in user is already authorized to access, so it follows existing staff permissions.
Does PushPress AI Assistant Talk to Members or Leads?
No. It is an owner and staff tool inside Core. PushPress sells Grow for automated lead engagement and has described a member-facing front desk assistant as part of its AI-first plans.
How Is It Different From Mindbody AI Concierge?
Mindbody AI Concierge talks to clients, answering messages and booking classes for them. PushPress AI Assistant works for the gym owner, handling billing, memberships and reporting on request.
