Yext Scout Score

Our editorial score across six weighted criteria, based on Yext Scout’s published documentation, pricing and public user ratings. How we score

  • Autonomy8.5

Scout monitors and benchmarks on its own, and Action Center can trigger and complete the fixes it surfaces across listings, reviews, social and the Knowledge Graph.

  • Ease of Setup7.5

Scout comes through Yext's sales process with demos and pilots instead of a self-serve trial, though brands already on Yext add it to an existing account.

  • Pricing Value6.3

Yext shares prices by quote and offers no free tier or standard trial; the separate Corvo AI small-business agent is free.

  • Integrations9.0

Yext syncs to more than 200 publishers and offers Scout MCP, a white-label Scout API and iOS and Android apps.

  • Trust and Security7.8

Yext is a public company with a published Trust Center, and naming specific certifications on its Scout pages would help buyers.

  • User Sentiment8.9

Capterra rates the Yext platform 4.2 from 117 reviews, adjusted because some reviewers mention price and listings reverting after cancellation.

Yext says its Scout agent analyzes about 10 billion signals a month across more than 12 million business locations, tracking how brands show up in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Google and Bing. Unlike most AI visibility trackers, Scout can act on what it finds: through Yext’s Action Center it updates listings, responds to reviews and posts localized social content.

Scout is a strong choice for multi-location brands and agencies already on Yext, scoring 8.0/10 on our scale. The buying model is the main thing to weigh: custom annual pricing, no free tier and no standard trial, and some reviewers describe Yext as expensive. Yext reports a 186% rise in AI citations for customer Beltone. We have not used Scout ourselves; this review is based on Yext’s announcements, its FAQ and published user reviews.

10 Billion Signals Across 12 Million Locations

  • Yext says Scout analyzes about 10 billion signals a month across more than 12 million business locations, with 150 metrics and 20 competitors in every scan.
  • Scout goes beyond reporting: Action Center, generally available since August 2026, triggers and completes fixes across listings, reviews, social posts and the Knowledge Graph.
  • Pricing is custom and usually annual, with no free tier or standard trial.
  • Yext reports a 186% rise in AI citations for Beltone and 147% growth in its own AI visibility, both company figures.
  • Best for multi-location brands and agencies; single-location businesses may get more from cheaper trackers or the free Corvo AI.

Public-Company Scale Figures Behind Scout

Yext is a public company, so Scout comes with more published scale figures than most AI visibility tools. These are the ones that matter for a buyer.

The scale figures explain Scout’s main advantage over startup AI visibility tools: Yext already holds structured data for millions of locations and pushes it to the sites AI engines cite. A tracker can tell a restaurant chain that ChatGPT has the wrong hours for one branch; Scout can also fix the listing.

The customer results are lighter on detail. Beltone’s 186% rise in citations and Yext’s own 147% visibility gain are company figures, and publishing the method behind them would add weight; for now, treat them as examples of what is possible rather than benchmarks.

The survey numbers frame the buying decision. In the Corporate Ink survey Yext cited, 88% of senior marketers said leadership or the board asks them about AI visibility, yet only 34% had a defined strategy. That gap is the market Scout is built for: teams under pressure to report on AI answers before they have a process for improving them. For those teams, the combination of a dashboard leadership can read and an Action Center that can change listings is the pitch. The risk is buying execution capacity before deciding what the brand wants AI engines to say.

Four Stages Inside the Yext Platform

Scout runs inside the Yext platform. Based on Yext’s announcements and FAQ, the workflow has four stages.

Monitor

Scout tracks brand presence and sentiment across AI search, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok, and traditional search on Google and Bing. It works at the national level and the hyper-local level, so a brand can see how each location appears. The September 2026 expansion adds brand- and location-level optimization across more of the sources AI engines cite.

Benchmark

Each scan compares the brand with up to 20 competitors across 150 visibility metrics. Scout explains why rivals rank higher and breaks down AI citations by model, sentiment and theme.

Recommend

Scout produces prioritized recommendations on listings accuracy, reputation, web content and social content, plus a 90-day growth plan and paid media guidance.

Act

Action Center, generally available since August 5, 2026, puts all of Yext’s agents in one place and lets brands trigger and complete the actions Scout surfaces across listings, reviews, social posts and the Yext Knowledge Graph. New social actions localize brand posts and convert 5-star reviews into social content. Yext’s CEO has given examples such as updating listings, generating online reviews, posting local social updates and optimizing local pages for AI search.

Access for Agencies and Developers

Partners can use Scout through a ready-built interface, through Scout MCP, which gives conversational access with no development work, or through the Scout API for fully white-labeled products. All three draw on the same dataset. Scout also has iOS and Android apps.

Corvo AI for Small Businesses

In September 2026 Yext released an early version of Corvo AI, a separate agent for small business owners. It sends proactive text messages with local marketing recommendations, drawing on the same competitive intelligence and execution agents behind Scout, through a mobile-first, natural-language interface. Corvo is free at askcorvo.com and recommends actions rather than carrying them out, so it works as a low-cost entry point for single-location owners who are not ready for a Yext contract.

Marketers Approve Content and Handle Sensitive Reviews

Marketers decide which recommendations to act on, write or approve brand content and respond to sensitive reviews. Agree on approval rules for Action Center during onboarding, especially for review responses and social posts. Strategy, such as which locations and competitors to prioritize, stays with the team.

How Yext Sets Scout’s Price, Per Its Own Help Pages

Yext does not publish a price list. Its FAQ describes how pricing is set.

Rival Price Points to Frame a Yext Negotiation

Because Yext quotes every deal, these scenarios set Scout against the published prices of rivals to frame a negotiation. Team and client counts are our own assumptions.

  • A single brand that only needs AI visibility tracking: Scrunch costs $250 a month billed annually, or $3,000 a year, and OTTO SEO by Search Atlas starts at $79 a month billed annually, or $948 a year. A Scout quote above those figures needs to be justified by listings and review execution.
  • An agency with ten client brands: Profound is reported at $399 a month per client workspace for agencies, or $3,990 a month for ten clients. Ask Yext for partner pricing on Scout MCP or the API on the same basis.
  • A 200-location franchise already on Yext Listings: the relevant cost is the uplift for Scout and Action Center on top of the existing contract, priced per location. Ask for a pilot on a subset of locations before committing to a multi-year term.

Costs to watch: multi-year terms that lower the rate but lock you in, the effect of cancellation on listings that Yext manages, and any separate fees for review generation or social publishing in your package.

Yext Scout Compared With Profound, Scrunch and OTTO SEO

AI visibility tools split between trackers that report how AI engines describe a brand and platforms that also change the underlying data. Scout belongs to the second group, alongside OTTO for on-site fixes.

Pick Scout when the problem is location data, reviews and local presence across many branches. Pick Profound or Scrunch when the job is measuring and improving AI answers for a single brand, and OTTO when the fixes are on your own website. More options are in our guides to AI agents for SEO and AI agents for agencies.

Multi-Location Brands and Current Yext Customers

  • Multi-location brands: restaurant groups, retailers, healthcare providers and franchises that need per-location visibility in AI answers and maps.
  • Existing Yext customers: Scout and Action Center sit on the listings, reviews and Knowledge Graph data already in the account.
  • Agencies serving local businesses: Scout MCP and the white-label Scout API let them build client products on Yext data.
  • Marketing leaders asked about AI visibility: Scout tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok alongside Google and Bing in one view.
  • Teams that want fixes, not only reports: Action Center turns recommendations into listing, review and social actions.

Single-Location Shops and Tracking-Only Brands

  • Single-location small businesses: the free Corvo AI or a low-cost tracker is a better starting point than a custom annual contract.
  • Brands that only need AI answer tracking: tools such as Scrunch publish prices and offer trials.
  • Teams planning for a possible exit: some reviewers say listings revert when a Yext subscription ends.
  • Buyers who need to test before talking to sales: there is no free tier or standard free trial.
  • Website-first SEO teams: Scout focuses on listings, reviews and local content, not technical fixes on your own site.

Package Pricing and What Happens on Cancellation

  • Quoted pricing: Yext quotes by location count, solution and term, so get Scout priced separately from any package.
  • Cancellation effects: Capterra reviewers report listings being removed or reverting after a subscription ends.
  • Rollout timing: the brand- and location-level Scout expansion was piloting with a few enterprise customers before broader availability on September 30, 2026.
  • Approval rules: confirm how Action Center gates review responses and social posts before turning on automated actions.
  • Company-reported results: the Beltone and Playdigo outcomes and Yext’s own visibility gain come from Yext’s announcements.
  • Reporting: some reviewers would like more detailed analytics and easier-to-read exported reports for clients.

Action Center General Availability and Scout’s Expansion

  • On September 1, 2026, Yext expanded its agentic capabilities, extending Scout to brand- and location-level optimization, confirming Action Center general availability from August 5 and releasing an early version of Corvo AI for small businesses.
  • On May 19, 2026, Yext launched Scout MCP and Scout API, opening its visibility and competitive data to partners.
  • On March 3, 2025, Yext introduced Scout as an AI search and competitive intelligence agent covering ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Google and Bing.

One of the Few Visibility Agents That Fixes What It Finds

For multi-location brands and agencies that already manage local data in Yext, Scout is one of the few AI visibility agents that can fix what it finds. It scores 8.0/10 on our scale: strong on integrations and scale, solid on autonomy now that Action Center is generally available, with custom pricing, no trial and reviewer feedback on cost and cancellation weighing on the score.

For a single brand that only wants to know how ChatGPT describes it, Scout is more than you need. For a franchise or agency juggling hundreds of locations, ask for a pilot on a subset of stores, track citations and listing accuracy for 90 days, and negotiate the term before committing.
