Copy Howie on an email thread and it takes over the back and forth: it proposes times, chases people who go quiet, sends the invite and watches for later conflicts. Guests never see a booking link. Plans start at $25 a month.

Howie was founded in 2023 in Seattle by Austin Petersmith, its CEO, and Dave Newman. It launched publicly in 2025 with more than 1,000 paying customers, mostly founders, investors, recruiters, consultants and journalists.

How It Works

Setup means connecting Google Calendar and writing scheduling rules in plain language, such as preferred meeting lengths, protected hours or which contacts get priority. Howie applies those rules across every thread. When the other party sends their own booking page, Howie clicks through and books it.

Beyond booking, it manages holds, buffers, travel time and focus blocks, flags conflicts, sends reminders and daily briefings, and keeps to-dos. It works over email, SMS and iMessage and connects to tools including Zoom, Granola, Notion, Todoist and Linear. Howie runs tasks through a chain of AI models, and when confidence was low, a team of former executive assistants checked or completed the work, which is why replies were not always instant.

Pricing

Howie moved to credits in 2026. Team plans run from $25 a month for 1,250 credits to $2,500 a month for 150,000 credits, with per-credit rates falling slightly at higher tiers, and Enterprise is custom. Credits are shared across a workspace, with no per-seat fee. A custom assistant address on your own domain costs $20 a month. New accounts get $25 in free credits. Until about April 2026, Howie sold flat plans at $25 or $95 a month billed annually.

What to Watch Out For

Howie works only with Gmail and Google Calendar; there is no Outlook support. It does not publish how many credits a meeting, follow-up or briefing uses, so costs are hard to predict before you try it. Cancelling keeps access to the end of the billing period, without a prorated refund. Howie has not said whether human review has ended, so people on your threads may have their messages seen by staff. Busy users who need a reply within seconds may find the pace slow, since accuracy has been favored over speed.
