Agentforce brought in more than $1.5 billion in annual recurring revenue by the end of July 2026, Salesforce reported, up over 240% from a year earlier. That makes it one of the largest commercial AI agent businesses, and it is sold almost entirely to companies that already keep their customer data in Salesforce.

Agentforce is the layer Salesforce uses to put AI agents on top of its CRM. Companies can switch on prebuilt agents for sales and service, or build their own that read records, follow business rules and take actions in Salesforce.

How It Works

Agents are built with Agent Builder, Prompt Builder and Agent Script, and they work under the same permissions as the people they serve. Salesforce now also ships ready-made role agents: Piper qualifies inbound leads and Fin resolves service cases, while Hunter is due in November 2026. Agentforce Coworker answers questions and builds and runs multi-step plans inside Salesforce, and long-horizon agents can pursue a goal over days or weeks with approval checkpoints along the way.

Agents reach users through Salesforce apps, Slack, a voice channel and the mobile app, where Field Voice gives field reps hands-free access. A beta lets Salesforce data be used from Anthropic’s Claude. For teams running agents at scale, Salesforce offers Agent Optimizer, multi-turn conversation testing, A/B experiments and health monitoring with more than 16 built-in metrics.

Pricing

Pricing has several layers. Flex Credits cost $500 per 100,000, and a standard action uses 20 credits, or 10 cents. Prepaid conversation pricing runs $2 per conversation. Per-user add-ons cost $125 a month for Sales, Service and Field Service and $150 for Industries, and Agentforce 1 Editions start at $550 per user per month with 2.5 million Flex Credits per org each year. Salesforce Foundations, which is free to existing customers, includes Agent Builder for early experiments.

What to Watch Out For

The value depends heavily on the quality of your Salesforce data, and the mix of credits, add-ons and editions makes total cost hard to predict before a pilot. Salesforce says prices are subject to change and sends buyers to sales for detailed quotes. Many features announced in 2026 are in pilot or beta, so check availability for your edition. Note also that Salesforce widened what counts toward Agentforce revenue in mid-2026.
