Before DeepL Agent went on general release in November 2025, more than 1,000 beta testers ran over 20,000 tasks with it. The agent comes from DeepL, the Cologne company best known for machine translation, and works as an AI coworker that plans and carries out routine business tasks rather than translating single texts.
DeepL says it serves more than 200,000 business customers in 228 markets, which gives the agent a ready audience among companies that already run their translation through DeepL.
How It Works
A user describes a job in plain language, and DeepL Agent breaks it into steps and works through them across the tools the company uses, including CRM, email, calendars, knowledge hubs and project management software. DeepL’s own examples include researching prospects and drafting personalized outreach for sales, resolving customer issues for service teams, and analyzing competitors and coordinating campaigns for marketing.
Human-in-the-loop checkpoints let staff review and approve work before it goes out. The agent’s main advantage over general-purpose rivals is language: it draws on the same models behind DeepL’s translation and writing tools, which matters for companies working across many markets.
Pricing
DeepL does not publish a price for DeepL Agent, and business customers go through sales. For context, DeepL Pro translation plans in Germany start at €7.49 per user a month for Individual and €24.99 for Team on annual billing, with Business at €49.99 and Enterprise quoted. Those prices cover translation and writing, not the agent.
What to Watch Out For
Public detail on DeepL Agent is thin. DeepL has not published a list of supported connectors, so confirm that the specific CRM and email systems you use are covered before a pilot. Ask what actions the agent can take without approval, and how its access to company systems is logged. Translation strength does not automatically mean better reasoning on complex tasks, so test it against general-purpose agents on your own workflows. Companies that already hold a DeepL enterprise contract are in the best position to negotiate a pilot, since security reviews and data-processing terms may already be in place. Ask too whether agent usage is metered separately from translation volume.
