nCino Digital Partners are five role-based AI agents built into the nCino banking platform, aimed at the people who run lending: executives, credit analysts, relationship managers and loan processors, plus a fifth agent for account holders. They are the best fit for banks and credit unions that already run commercial, consumer or mortgage lending on nCino and want AI to take on analysis, monitoring and document work. They work inside nCino, and the price is a quote plus metered AI usage.
Adoption is moving quickly. By August 2026 more than 230 customers had bought Intelligence Units, the credits that pay for nCino’s AI, and banks were coming back to buy more after using their first bundles, FinTech Global reported. One enterprise customer estimates that a single Banking Advisor feature, locate and file, will save it 160,000 hours a year. This review is based on nCino’s announcements, financial results and news coverage as of October 2026; we have not tested the product hands-on.
nCino’s Quoted Platform and Intelligence Unit Metering
- Starting price: Custom quote for the nCino platform, with AI usage metered in Intelligence Units and extra units charged as use grows.
- Adoption: More than 230 customers had bought Intelligence Units by August 2026, and many were buying more after exhausting initial bundles.
- Biggest claimed saving: One enterprise customer estimates 160,000 hours a year from the locate-and-file feature, which nCino values at more than $5.5 million.
- Five agents: Executive, Analyst, Service and Processor agents for staff through Banking Advisor, plus a Client agent inside digital banking.
- Our score: 7.8/10, strong on banking depth and installed base, with platform dependence and quote-based pricing as the areas to weigh.
Public-Company Numbers on nCino’s AI Use
nCino is a public company, so more hard numbers exist for its AI than for most banking agent vendors. These come from nCino’s own release, its quarterly results and coverage of its earnings calls; each was checked on the source page.
| Fact | Detail | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| Launch | Five role-based Digital Partners announced; the Analyst agent first, the rest rolled out over the following year | nCino press release, November 4, 2025 |
| Installed base | More than 2,700 customers worldwide, from community banks and credit unions to independent mortgage banks and large global institutions | nCino press release, November 4, 2025 |
| AI credit buyers | More than 230 customers have bought Intelligence Units; nCino now charges for additional units as usage grows | FinTech Global, August 26, 2026 |
| Time savings claim | One enterprise customer estimates the Banking Advisor locate-and-file capability saves 160,000 hours a year, more than $5.5 million by nCino’s calculation | FinTech Global, August 26, 2026 |
| Monitoring | Continuous Credit Monitoring reviews more than 40 credit and operational indicators daily | FinTech Global, August 26, 2026 |
| Pricing shift | 12 of the top 20 US enterprise customers on platform-based pricing, covering 48% of annual contract value, up from 40% a quarter earlier | FinTech Global, August 26, 2026 |
| Renewals | 20 of the largest US enterprise customers, with more than $900 billion in assets, signed early multi-year renewals; average contract value up more than 10% | FinTech Global, August 26, 2026 |
| Revenue | Q2 fiscal 2027 total revenue of $161 million, up 8%; subscription revenue of $143.5 million, up 10%; full-year guidance of $644 million to $647 million | FinTech Global, August 26, 2026 |
| Earlier quarter | Q3 fiscal 2026 revenue of $152.2 million, up 10%; two top-50 US banks expanded commercial lending commitments by more than 30% and 60% | nCino results release, December 3, 2025 |
The Intelligence Unit numbers matter most for a buyer. They show banks are paying for AI capacity separately and then paying again once usage climbs, which is good evidence that the agents are used in daily work. It also means AI spend on nCino is no longer a fixed line item. Chief executive Sean Desmond told analysts that nCino is putting long-term AI adoption ahead of near-term subscription growth and expects unit consumption to become a significant driver of subscription revenue.
The 160,000-hour figure is one customer’s estimate, and the dollar value is nCino’s own calculation. Treat it as an upper bound for a large enterprise bank rather than a forecast for a community bank.
Tools, Sub-Agents and Workflows on Top of nCino
Digital Partners sit on top of the nCino platform rather than beside it. Each agent combines foundational tools, specialized sub-agents and orchestrated agentic workflows, and staff interact with it through conversation. nCino describes the goal as a “dual workforce” in which employees and AI agents work side by side.
Banking Advisor, the Front Door
Four of the five agents are reached through Banking Advisor, nCino’s conversational AI interface and the first phase of its AI strategy. Staff type requests in plain language, such as asking for the risk profile of a commercial loan or for the processes with the most room for improvement. Banking Advisor also includes a locate-and-file capability for documents, which is behind the largest customer savings estimate nCino has shared.
Executive, Analyst and Three Other Role-Based Partners
- Executive Digital Partner: gives C-suite leaders market insights, portfolio intelligence and data science help.
- Analyst Digital Partner: speeds risk assessment and financial analysis for underwriters and credit analysts, using peer benchmarks from nCino Operations Analytics. It was the first to launch, in November 2025.
- Service Digital Partner: flags timely cross-sell opportunities for relationship managers.
- Processor Digital Partner: coordinates documentation, schedules communications and checks compliance requirements to clear bottlenecks in loan processing.
- Client Digital Partner: works inside the institution’s digital banking to give account holders AI-assisted self-service.
Background Work
Some of the work happens without anyone asking. Continuous Credit Monitoring reviews more than 40 credit and operational indicators daily across a loan portfolio, and FinTech Global reported that this feature is one of the drivers of Intelligence Unit consumption. nCino describes its agents as working in the background to support staff.
Lending on nCino Comes Before Buying Units
- Run lending on nCino. The agents depend on the data and workflows in nCino’s commercial, consumer or mortgage products.
- Buy Intelligence Units. AI usage is paid for with IUs, starting with an initial bundle.
- Turn on agents by role. Agents arrived in phases from November 2025, so availability depends on your products and timing.
- Train staff on Banking Advisor. Users interact through conversation, but reviewers of the wider platform report a learning curve.
Bankers Keep Credit Decisions and Client Relationships
Credit decisions, client relationships and final approvals remain with bank staff. nCino’s chief product officer, Chris Gufford, framed the agents as amplifying human judgment rather than replacing it. Compliance teams still own policies, and model risk teams will want to review how agent outputs feed into credit memos and monitoring alerts.
Negotiated Contracts Moving to Platform Pricing
nCino does not publish a price list. Contracts are negotiated, and the company is moving customers from older pricing to a platform-based model. Its quarterly results also describe a migration to asset-based pricing. AI is metered separately in Intelligence Units.
| Plan | Price | Billing | What’s Included | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| nCino platform | Custom quote | Enterprise contract, increasingly platform-based pricing | Lending products the institution licenses, such as commercial, consumer or mortgage | No published rates |
| Initial Intelligence Units | Not published | Bundled credits | AI usage across Banking Advisor and Digital Partners | Banks report using up initial bundles |
| Additional Intelligence Units | Not published | Charged as usage grows | More AI capacity, for example for Continuous Credit Monitoring | Cost rises with adoption |
160,000 Hours Valued at $5.5 Million
Without list prices, the useful arithmetic is on the value side. nCino values 160,000 hours at more than $5.5 million, which works out to about $34 per hour saved. That rate gives a benchmark for your own case.
A 20-person credit team. If each analyst saved five hours a week across 48 working weeks, the team would save 4,800 hours a year. At nCino’s implied $34.38 per hour, that is about $165,000 a year. Ask nCino how many Intelligence Units that workload would consume and what they cost.
A large enterprise bank. The customer behind the 160,000-hour estimate is an enterprise institution. Smaller banks should scale the figure down to their own document volumes rather than assume a similar result.
Other variable costs. Budget for additional IUs once usage grows, any change in your contract under the move to platform-based pricing, training time for staff, and model risk review of agent outputs.
What Consumes an Intelligence Unit and How Many Come Bundled
- Unit definition: what consumes an Intelligence Unit, such as a query, a document or a monitored loan.
- Bundle size: how many units are included and how long a bank of your size typically takes to use them.
- Overage rate: the price of additional units and whether volume discounts apply.
- Agent availability: which of the five agents are live for your lending products today.
nCino Digital Partners Compared With Casca, Agentforce and Bretton AI
Banks weighing nCino’s agents usually also look at specialist lending agents, at Salesforce’s general agent platform, and at compliance agents for the same back-office teams.
| Tool | Starting Price | Free Plan | Main Strength | Main Trade-Off | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| nCino Digital Partners | Custom quote plus Intelligence Units | No | Role-based agents inside a lending platform with 2,700-plus institutions | Requires nCino; usage-based AI costs | Banks and credit unions already on nCino |
| Casca | Custom quote | No | Small business and SBA loan origination with applicant follow-up, KYB and credit analysis | Business lending only | Banks and lenders focused on small business loans |
| Agentforce | $0.10 per action (Flex Credits) | Limited | Prebuilt and custom agents on Salesforce CRM and Data 360 records | Layered pricing is hard to forecast | Institutions whose data lives in Salesforce |
| Bretton AI | Custom quote | No | KYC, AML and sanctions investigations with audit-ready reports | Compliance only, not lending workflow | Banks with large alert queues |
nCino’s advantage is breadth inside lending: one vendor covers the analyst, the processor, the relationship manager and the account holder, all on the same loan data. Casca goes deeper on small business origination and can suit a bank that is not on nCino. Agentforce is the general-purpose option for Salesforce-centric institutions. Bretton AI solves a different back-office problem, financial crime investigations, and can sit alongside nCino. More options are on our banking agents page.
Banks and Credit Unions Already Lending on nCino
- Existing nCino banks and credit unions: the agents use data you already hold in nCino, so the added cost is mainly Intelligence Units and training.
- Commercial lending teams with heavy analysis work: the Analyst agent targets risk assessment with peer benchmarks, the slowest part of many credit processes.
- Institutions with large loan books to monitor: daily checks across 40-plus indicators suit portfolios too large to review by hand.
- Operations leaders chasing document bottlenecks: the Processor agent and locate-and-file target the paperwork side of lending. See also our enterprise agents page.
Institutions Off nCino Comparing Casca
- Institutions not on nCino: the agents are not sold separately, so a standalone tool such as Casca will be faster to adopt.
- Small teams wanting fixed, predictable costs: Intelligence Unit consumption makes AI spend variable.
- Banks mainly after a customer service bot: the Client agent is one of five, while dedicated tools such as interface.ai focus entirely on member calls and chats.
- Teams that need to test before talking to sales: there is no free plan or self-serve trial.
Platform Dependence and Charges for Extra Units
- Platform dependence: the agents depend on nCino data and workflows, which ties AI value closely to the platform.
- Consumption costs: nCino has started charging for additional units, and the CEO expects consumption to become a significant revenue driver, so model several usage levels.
- Phased availability: the five agents were rolled out over about a year from November 2025; confirm which are generally available for your products.
- Vendor and customer estimates: the 160,000-hour and $5.5 million figures are one customer’s estimate and nCino’s calculation.
- Learning curve: Capterra reviewers of the nCino platform describe significant training before staff become efficient, and some ask for more customization and a smoother borrower portal.
- Pricing model changes: nCino is moving customers to platform-based pricing, so renewal terms may differ from your current contract.
Five Role-Based Agents Introduced in November 2025
On November 4, 2025, nCino introduced Digital Partners, five role-based agents for executives, analysts, relationship managers, processors and account holders, with the Analyst agent launching first.
On December 3, 2025, nCino reported third-quarter fiscal 2026 revenue of $152.2 million, up 10%, and described Digital Partners as its first role-based AI agents trained on financial services data.
On August 26, 2026, FinTech Global reported on nCino’s second-quarter fiscal 2027 call: more than 230 customers had bought Intelligence Units, banks were buying more after using initial bundles, and 20 large US enterprise customers had signed early multi-year renewals.
The Obvious AI Add-On for nCino Lenders
For banks and credit unions already running lending on nCino, Digital Partners are the most natural way to add AI agents, and they score 7.8/10 on our scale. The agents cover real roles, from credit analysis to document processing and daily portfolio monitoring, and the fact that banks are buying more Intelligence Units after using their first bundles is a strong sign of real use.
Platform dependence and pricing weigh on the score. The agents come with the platform, prices are shared by quote, and AI costs grow with usage. If you are on nCino, ask for a pilot of the Analyst agent and Continuous Credit Monitoring, track hours saved against units consumed, and use nCino’s own $34-an-hour valuation as a benchmark. If you are not, compare specialist tools on our banking agents page first.
Banking Advisor Versus Digital Partners, and Unit Costs
How Much Do nCino Digital Partners Cost?
nCino does not publish prices. The agents run on the nCino platform under an enterprise contract, and AI usage is paid for in Intelligence Units, with an initial bundle and charges for additional units as usage grows.
What Are nCino Intelligence Units?
Intelligence Units are the credits that meter AI use on nCino. More than 230 customers had bought them by August 2026, and features such as Continuous Credit Monitoring drive consumption.
What Is the Difference Between Banking Advisor and Digital Partners?
Banking Advisor is nCino’s conversational AI interface. Digital Partners are the role-based agents; four of them, for executives, analysts, relationship managers and processors, are reached through Banking Advisor, while the Client agent runs inside digital banking.
Can Banks Use Digital Partners Without the nCino Platform?
No. The agents rely on nCino’s lending data, workflows and analytics, so they are only available to institutions using the platform.
Do nCino Agents Make Credit Decisions?
nCino positions the agents as support for staff judgment. They assess risk, monitor indicators and process documents, while credit decisions and client relationships stay with bank employees.
