Pomelli Score

Our editorial score across six weighted criteria, based on Pomelli’s published documentation, pricing and public user ratings. How we score

  • Autonomy8.3

Pomelli reads a website, builds a Business DNA profile, proposes campaigns and generates finished assets and websites, but the owner chooses ideas, edits and downloads or publishes.

  • Ease of Setup9.5

Setup is a website URL in a web app, and the Pomelli Agent can define a brand from uploads or a chat when no website exists.

  • Pricing Value9.3

Pomelli is free during the Google Labs beta, with a reported cap of 300 image generations a month and no announced paid plans.

  • Integrations6.8

Inputs are a website URL and uploads, and outputs are downloads or a Pomelli-built website; connections to social or ad accounts are not documented yet.

  • Trust and Security7.8

It runs as a Google Labs experiment built with Google DeepMind under a Google account; product-specific compliance documentation on its announcement pages would help buyers.

  • User Sentiment7.5

No public ratings yet, so we use a neutral score.

Pomelli costs nothing during its beta, and Google Labs says businesses have already created millions of product shots, social campaigns and ads with it. You give it a website address; it works out the brand’s colors, fonts and tone, proposes campaign ideas and produces the posts, ads and product images. Since May 2026 the Pomelli Agent can also build a brand from scratch and launch a website.

It is best for small businesses with no designer: a cafe, a yoga studio, a maker selling online. A few things to know: it is a Labs experiment whose terms can change, publishing and scheduling happen in other tools, and a reported 300 image generations a month is the beta ceiling. We rate it 8.3/10 on our scale. We have not used Pomelli; this review is based on Google’s own announcements and published reporting on its rollout.

Free in Google Labs With a Reported 300-Image Cap

  • Pomelli is free during the Google Labs beta, with a reported limit of 300 image generations a month.
  • Google Labs says users have created millions of product shots, social campaigns and ads since the October 2025 launch.
  • One website URL produces a Business DNA profile (tone, fonts, colors, style) that every campaign, photo and website follows.
  • Photoshoot (Nano Banana) and Animate (Veo 3.1) add studio product images and short videos; the May 2026 Pomelli Agent adds brand books and websites.
  • Against Canva AI and Adobe Express, Pomelli is narrower and simpler: it plans the campaign for you but leaves publishing and fine editing to other tools.

From Four Countries to a Global Product

Pomelli has grown from a four-country experiment to a global product in about a year. These are the facts Google and published reporting have put on the record.

For a buyer, the main signal is momentum. Google moved Pomelli from four countries to more than 170 in under five months, added video and product photography, then layered an agent on top. That pace suggests Google sees it as more than a side project, though Labs status means any feature can still be reworked or withdrawn.

The second signal is the price. A free tool backed by Google’s image and video models sets a low bar for paid competitors aimed at the same small-business buyer. The reported 300-image monthly cap is generous for one business and tight for anyone producing content for several brands.

Business DNA Shapes Everything Pomelli Makes

Pomelli runs in the browser. Everything it makes is shaped by one brand profile, which Google calls Business DNA.

Step 1: Build the Business DNA

You enter your website address. Pomelli analyzes the site and records the brand’s tone of voice, fonts, color palette and visual style. If you have no website, or a weak one, the Pomelli Agent added in May 2026 can work from product documents and photos you upload, or define the brand through a chat.

Step 2: Pick a Campaign

Pomelli proposes campaign ideas based on your current online presence and goals. You choose one or steer it with a text prompt, for example a seasonal offer or a new product line.

Step 3: Generate, Edit and Download

It then produces the assets for social media, ads and the website. You can adjust them and download the results. Pomelli does not post them for you, so publishing happens in your social media scheduler, ad manager or website editor.

Photoshoot, Animate, Brand Books and Websites

  • Photoshoot: upload a simple product photo and Pomelli turns it into studio or lifestyle shots. Text prompts change the setting, such as placing a product in a forest. It uses Google’s Nano Banana model.
  • Animate: turns assets into short videos with Veo 3.1.
  • Brand books: once the Business DNA is set, Pomelli compiles a shareable guide with the brand’s images, fonts and colors.
  • Websites: it can design and launch a complete website in a few clicks, also based on the Business DNA.

Who Pomelli Is Built For

Google’s European launch post names the businesses it has in mind: craft businesses, cafes and restaurants, and service providers such as yoga studios and consultants. These are owners who know their product but have no time to design a campaign each month. Pomelli’s job is to fill that gap with something that looks consistent across Instagram, ads and the website, rather than to replace a designer’s judgment on a major rebrand.

That focus shapes the product. There are few settings to learn, the campaign ideas arrive before you ask for them, and the brand rules come from the website the business already has. The trade-off is less control than a full design suite, which matters more to a marketing team than to a bakery owner.

Owners Check the Brand Profile and Handle Publishing

The owner checks that the extracted Business DNA is right, chooses campaigns, edits copy and images, and handles publishing, ad budgets and timing. Product claims, prices and offers in generated ads need a human read before they go live, as with any generative tool.

One Plan Today, and It Is Free

Pomelli has one plan today: free. The figures below come from Google’s announcements and published reporting on the beta.

How Far 300 Images a Month Stretch

The direct cost is zero, so the useful math is how far the beta cap stretches. These scenarios use the reported 300-image monthly limit; the volumes are our own illustrative assumptions.

  • A cafe posting daily: 30 social images a month plus a weekly Photoshoot run of 5 product shots is 50 images, a sixth of the cap, for $0.
  • A small online shop: 20 products refreshed with 4 Photoshoot variations each is 80 images, plus 60 campaign assets, for 140 images and $0.
  • A freelancer serving five clients: 60 images per client is 300 images, the full cap. Above that, a paid tool such as Canva Pro at $18 a month is the practical fallback.

The other costs sit around the tool: an ad budget, a scheduler or social suite to publish, and the time to check every asset. If Google introduces paid tiers after the beta, budget for that too.

Pomelli Compared With Canva AI, Adobe Express AI Assistant, Lovart and Predis.ai

Small-business design agents split into broad design suites with AI on top and narrower tools that plan the content for you. Pomelli is the second kind.

Choose Pomelli if you want a free tool that thinks up the campaign and keeps everything on brand with almost no setup. Choose Canva AI or Adobe Express if you need to fine-tune layouts, work as a team or reuse templates. Lovart suits designers who want an agent for richer brand projects, and Predis.ai suits businesses that want generation and scheduling in one place. Price is the other difference. Pomelli is the only one of the five with no paid tier at all today, while Predis.ai has no free plan and Canva, Adobe Express and Lovart gate heavier use behind subscriptions or credits. For an owner testing whether AI-made marketing works for the business, that makes Pomelli the lowest-risk place to start, with a paid suite as the next step once volume or control needs grow. More options are in our AI agents for design and AI agents for small business guides.

Cafes, Restaurants and Shops Without Design Time

  • Owners of cafes, restaurants and shops: Google names these businesses as targets, and the URL-to-campaign flow suits people with no design time.
  • Service businesses such as yoga studios and consultants: Pomelli’s campaign ideas and brand books give a consistent look without hiring an agency.
  • Online sellers with plain product photos: Photoshoot turns phone shots into studio and lifestyle images for listings and ads.
  • New businesses without a brand: the Pomelli Agent can define one from uploads or a chat, then produce a brand book and website.

Agencies Juggling Many Clients

  • Agencies managing many clients: the reported 300-image cap and a workflow built around one business’s Business DNA are designed for one business at a time, so multi-client production may suit other tools better.
  • Design teams that need precise layout control: Canva, Adobe Express or Figma offer full editors and team workspaces built for that job.
  • Businesses that want posting handled: Pomelli stops at download, so a tool with scheduling, such as Predis.ai, saves a step.
  • Non-English campaigns: Pomelli launched in Europe in English only.

Labs Status, Beta Limits and Brand Checks

  • Labs status: Google Labs products are experiments. Features, limits and the free price can change, so it helps to keep a process that can switch tools if needed.
  • The beta cap: a reported 300 image generations a month is enough for one business and may be tight for heavy testing of ad variations.
  • Brand accuracy: everything flows from the Business DNA. If the site has outdated colors or copy, the campaigns will repeat the mistake, so review the profile first.
  • Generated product images: Photoshoot places products in new scenes. Check that size, color and details still match the real item, especially for ads and marketplace listings with accuracy rules.
  • Consistency across tools: assets made in Pomelli follow its Business DNA, but anything you build elsewhere does not. Export the brand book and share it with anyone else who designs for you so the two stay aligned.
  • Publishing happens elsewhere: you will still need a scheduler, an ad account and someone to track results.

Expansion to 170 Countries and April 2026 Additions

An Easy First Try for Businesses Without a Designer

For a small business without a designer, Pomelli is an easy yes to try: it is free, it starts from a URL, and it produces a full campaign rather than a single image. The May 2026 agent update makes it useful even for businesses with no brand yet, and Photoshoot alone can replace a basic product photo session for online listings.

It scores 8.3/10 on our scale, with room to grow in integrations, built-in publishing, guarantees beyond Labs status and public ratings, which have yet to appear. The strongest case for it is time. A small business that would otherwise skip a campaign, or post off-brand images made in a hurry, gets a consistent set of assets in minutes. Control is where it gives less: anyone who already designs well in Canva or Adobe Express will find Pomelli’s outputs a starting point rather than a finished product. Treat it as a fast way to produce on-brand material, then pair it with a scheduler and a proper editor for anything that needs precision. If Google adds paid tiers after the beta, compare it again against Canva AI and Lovart.

How Pomelli Learns a Brand and Whether It Posts Ads

Is Pomelli Really Free?

Yes, during the Google Labs beta. Reporting on the beta puts the limit at 300 image generations a month. Google has not announced paid plans, so the price could change when the beta ends.

How Does Pomelli Learn My Brand?

It analyzes your website and builds a Business DNA profile with your tone of voice, fonts, colors and visual style. Without a website, the Pomelli Agent can build the profile from uploaded documents and product photos or through a chat.

Can Pomelli Post to Instagram or Run My Ads?

No. Pomelli generates and lets you edit and download assets, and it can launch a website it designed. Posting to social accounts and running ad campaigns happen in other tools.

Which Countries Can Use Pomelli?

It launched in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand in October 2025, expanded to more than 170 countries and territories in March 2026 and reached the EU, the UK, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Liechtenstein in April 2026, in English first.

How Is Pomelli Different From Canva AI?

Pomelli plans the campaign for you from your website and keeps every asset on brand automatically, with lighter editing controls. Canva AI sits inside a full design editor with templates and team features, so it needs more hands-on work and offers far more control.
