Rollstack by the Numbers

Rollstack is a venture-backed startup with a short public record. These facts come from Rollstack’s own pages and from G2.

The Tripadvisor figure gives a way to weigh the price. Ten hours a week across five analysts is 50 hours. Standard costs about $192 a week on a yearly bill, or roughly $3.84 per saved hour if a team saw the same result. Savings vary by how much manual reporting a team does today.

The compliance list stands behind the customer list. Banks, asset managers and health-adjacent companies need SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA before any tool touches report data, and Rollstack holds both.

How Rollstack Builds and Refreshes a Report

Rollstack describes its flow in five steps: analyze, present, scale, verify and control.

Linking BI Tools and Warehouses

Add connections to BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Metabase, Omni and Lightdash, warehouses such as Snowflake, or files such as Excel, Google Sheets, CSVs and PDFs. Databricks, BigQuery and Redshift are listed as coming soon. Data stays in your tools, and each refresh reads from them.

Asking the Data Agents

You describe what you need to understand, such as why net revenue moved this quarter. The data agents find the relevant data, compare periods and segments, identify what changed and build charts and takeaways with supporting evidence. Rollstack says AI-written takeaways come from synced data only.

Placing Tiles in Your Template

Open your own slide deck or document template and add a tile. Choose the source, set filters such as Region equals All, and select a view. Tiles can be native, editable charts or images. Approved tables and metrics are saved in a library with their definitions and sources, so every report uses the same numbers.

Refreshing and Distributing

Refresh with one click or on a schedule. Each run applies the same approved definitions to the latest data, and a refresh summary lists how many charts, tables and figures changed. Bursts and email sends deliver reports to their audiences, and version control keeps a record of every update.

Permissions and Control

Access follows the permissions in your BI tool, so a viewer cannot see data in a report that they could not see in Tableau or Power BI. SSO is available, and Enterprise adds SAML and SCIM.

Why Native Charts Matter

Many teams paste screenshots of dashboards into slides. Rollstack can insert native, editable charts instead, so a presenter can restyle a chart or adjust a label without going back to the BI tool. Images are still available for teams that want an exact copy of a dashboard view.

Native charts also keep the deck light to edit later. When the next refresh runs, the chart updates in place and keeps the formatting the team chose.

A Sample Month for a Finance Team

A finance analytics team produces a monthly business review for 12 regional leaders. They build one template in Google Slides with tiles from Tableau, filtered by region. On the first business day, Rollstack refreshes all 12 versions, the data agents write takeaways on what changed in each region, and an analyst reviews them. Bursts send each leader their own deck. Mid-month, the CFO asks why one region’s margin fell, and an analyst asks the data agents, which compare segments and return a chart with evidence.

Rollstack Pricing and Sync Allowances

Rollstack bills yearly by sync volume. Every plan has unlimited users.

PlanPriceBillingWhat Is IncludedLimits
StandardFrom $833 a monthYearly, syncs granted upfrontAutomated updates, distribution, AI insights, version control, standard support5,000 syncs; demo required
PremiumQuoteQuoteEverything in Standard plus bursts and standard SSO10,000 syncs
EnterpriseQuote with volume discountsQuoteDedicated CSM, SAML and SCIM, on-premise BI and VPN support, custom SLAs15,000 syncs

Rollstack’s pricing page defines a destination as a presentation or document and a connection as access to a platform such as Tableau, Looker or Metabase. Ask in the demo how syncs are counted for your report set, since that drives which tier you need.

Rollstack Costs in Practice

Standard at $833 a month comes to $9,996 a year. With 5,000 syncs, that is about $2 per sync.

For a five-analyst team that matched Tripadvisor’s 10 hours a week each, the yearly saving would be 2,400 hours across 48 working weeks. At $9,996, that is about $4.17 per hour saved.

A large company that needs bursts and SSO starts at Premium, and one that needs on-premise BI or SCIM starts at Enterprise. Both are quoted, so budget for a sales cycle.

Questions to Bring to the Rollstack Demo

Ask how syncs are counted for a deck with many tiles, and whether a refresh of 12 regional versions counts as one sync or twelve. Ask which plan includes bursts, since the pricing page lists them from Premium. Ask about on-premise BI and VPN support if your Tableau or Power BI server sits behind a firewall, since those appear on Enterprise.

Ask for a pilot on one recurring report. A month of real refreshes shows sync use, speed on your largest decks and how much editing the AI takeaways need.

Rollstack Compared With Improvado AI Agent, Julius AI and Notion Agent

These tools all help produce reports with AI, but they start from different data and end in different formats.

Improvado AI Agent$100/month (MCP Only); platform from $20,000/yearNoMarketing data from 1,400+ sources with an AI agentPlatform plans are annual and costlyMarketing teams and agencies

Notion Agent$20 per member per month (Business, billed annually)LimitedScheduled agents write status reports in NotionWorks with data inside Notion and connected appsTeams reporting on projects

Rollstack is the only one of the four built to keep a company’s existing PowerPoint and Google templates up to date from BI tools. Improvado focuses on marketing data, Julius on exploration and Notion Agent on project status. More options are on our reporting agents and data analysis agents pages.

The pricing models differ sharply. Rollstack charges a yearly fee by sync volume with unlimited users. Improvado prices by data rows and actions, Julius by user plan and Notion Agent by member seat. A company where many people read reports but few build them may find unlimited users a good match.

Teams That Fit Rollstack

Finance and FP&A teams that produce monthly business reviews, board decks and regional reports fit best. Tiles keep numbers tied to approved definitions, and bursts send each audience its own version.

Analytics teams that spend time copying charts from Tableau, Power BI or Looker into slides fit too. Rollstack cites research that analysts spend 20% to 30% of their time on manual copy-paste and data wrangling.

Customer success and account teams that send recurring business reviews to many clients can build one template and refresh it per client. Regulated companies benefit from SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and BI-based permissions.

Companies with many report readers also fit. Every plan includes unlimited users, so adding regional leaders, board members or client contacts to distribution does not raise the price.

Data teams in healthcare and financial services that need SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA can also run Rollstack on sensitive reports, with access tied to the BI tool permissions they already manage.

Teams That May Prefer a Lighter Reporting Tool

Small teams that build a few reports a quarter may find $833 a month more than the work requires. A data question tool like Julius AI or a spreadsheet agent may cover their needs.

Teams whose data lives in Databricks, BigQuery or Redshift should confirm connector timing, since those are listed as coming soon. Marketing teams that mainly report on ad platforms may prefer a marketing data platform such as Improvado.

Demo Steps, Syncs and Commentary Checks for Rollstack

Bring real reports to the demo. Pricing requires a demo, so bring two or three decks you rebuild today and ask how many syncs they would use each month.

Confirm your warehouse. Snowflake is live, while Databricks, BigQuery and Redshift are listed as coming soon.

Review AI takeaways. Rollstack says takeaways come from synced data only, which limits invented numbers, but an analyst should still check wording before executives see it.

Expect some speed limits. G2 reviewers mention slow loading and performance in a minority of reviews. Test with your largest deck during the demo or any pilot you agree with sales.

Plan template ownership. Since reports live in your own templates, decide who owns each template and who approves metric definitions in the library.

Plan for sync growth. Standard includes 5,000 syncs granted upfront on the yearly bill, Premium 10,000 and Enterprise 15,000. A team that adds new reports through the year should ask what happens if it runs out before renewal, and price the next tier in advance.

Keep a human sign-off. Scheduled reports can go out automatically. For board or client decks, add an approval step so a person checks numbers and commentary before bursts send them.

Rollstack Series A Round

On October 18, 2024, Rollstack announced an $11 million Series A led by Insight Partners, with Y Combinator participating; Y Combinator had led the seed round less than a year earlier. The company named SoFi and Monday.com as customers and said it serves mid-sized companies and Fortune 500 firms in financial services, healthcare, technology, industrials, retail and the public sector. Kamran Pirasteh, vice president at Insight Partners, said Rollstack is solving a large problem relevant to businesses.

Our Read on Rollstack for Report Automation

Rollstack scores 8.7/10 on our scale. Trust and security earn 9.5 for SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, GDPR and BI-based permissions. Integrations and user sentiment each earn 9.2, for a wide set of BI tools and a 4.6 rating from 78 G2 reviewers. Autonomy earns 8.8, as data agents analyze and write takeaways and reports refresh on schedules.

Ease of setup earns 8.2 because buying starts with a demo and tiles need mapping. Pricing value earns 7.8, the lowest of the six, reflecting an $833 monthly entry point and quoted upper tiers.

For a finance or analytics team that rebuilds the same decks every month, Rollstack can return many analyst hours. Bring your heaviest recurring report to the demo, measure the sync count, and compare the yearly cost against hours spent today.

Rollstack suits teams that already trust their BI layer. If metric definitions are still disputed inside the company, settle those first, because Rollstack will repeat whatever the source reports say on every refresh. Once definitions are approved, the metric library keeps every deck consistent.
