Gamma Agent Score

Our editorial score across six weighted criteria, based on Gamma Agent’s published documentation, pricing and public user ratings. How we score

  • Autonomy8.0

The agent turns a prompt, file or link into a complete designed deck or site and applies edits across a project on request; it works within Gamma, and a person reviews and publishes.

  • Ease of Setup9.5

Anyone can start on the free plan without a credit card and generate a first deck in minutes in the browser.

  • Pricing Value8.8

A free plan and low reported seat prices from about $9 a month make entry cheap; agent edits consume credits, and Gamma says those rates can change.

  • Integrations7.5

Gamma imports files and links, exports to PowerPoint and PDF and offers an API reported from the Pro plan; more documented connections to business tools would add value.

  • Trust and Security7.3

Higher plans add password protection and custom domains, and Business and Enterprise draw on shared workspace credit pools.

  • User Sentiment7.5

No public ratings collected yet; neutral score.

Gamma reached more than $100 million in annual recurring revenue with about 50 employees and only $23 million in early funding, according to its November 2025 funding announcement, and it says it had been profitable for over two years. Gamma Agent, the built-in design agent introduced with Gamma 3.0, is the reason most people now open the product: you hand it rough notes, a document or a link and it returns a designed presentation or website.

Gamma Agent is best for founders, marketers, consultants, teachers and sales teams who need good-looking decks fast and do not have a designer. Credits are the part to plan for: every agent edit draws on a balance that varies by action and model, and Gamma says rates can change. The free plan needs no card, paid seats are reported to start around $9 a month, and we rate it 8.2/10 on our scale. We have not used Gamma ourselves; this review is based on Gamma’s pricing page and help center, its funding announcement and third-party pricing analysis.

70 Million Users and 400 Million Assets Made in Gamma

  • Gamma reports 70 million users, more than 400 million assets created and over 1 million pieces of content generated a day (November 2025).
  • The agent builds full decks, documents and simple sites from a prompt, file or link, then edits one slide or the whole project on request.
  • Free accounts get 400 one-time credits; Plus includes 1,500 credits a month, and unused plan credits roll over up to twice the allotment.
  • Reported prices run from $9 a seat a month for Plus to $480 a seat a year for Business, with extra credits at $6 per 1,500.
  • Against Canva AI, Gamma is faster for whole decks from rough notes; Canva is stronger for brand assets, social graphics and print.

Revenue, Profit and Usage Numbers Few Design Tools Share

Gamma is one of the few AI design tools with published revenue, profitability and usage figures, which says a lot about its staying power.

For a buyer, profitability matters more than the valuation. A tool that pays for itself is less likely to disappear or swing its pricing to chase a funding target. The 50-person team is small for 70 million users, which helps explain why support for individual plans is mostly self-serve.

The usage figures also show where Gamma fits. Over a million pieces of content a day points to quick, high-volume work such as pitch decks, lesson slides and one-page sites, not long design projects.

An Agent That Edits Card-Based Gammas in the Editor

Gamma Agent sits inside the Gamma editor. It works on “gammas”, Gamma’s name for a presentation, document or webpage built from cards.

Starting a Project

You give the agent a starting point: a short prompt, pasted notes, an uploaded document or a link. Gamma 3.0 introduced the agent specifically to turn rough input into designed output with little design effort. It drafts an outline, writes the content, chooses layouts from Gamma’s smart layout system and adds AI-generated or stock images. The result arrives as a complete deck or site, usually in minutes.

Editing With the Agent

After the first draft, you talk to the agent rather than move boxes. You can ask it to restructure the story, change the tone, translate, shorten every slide or restyle the whole project, and it applies the change across the gamma or a single card. Gamma’s help center notes that small requests such as changing one slide generally use fewer credits than regenerating a whole gamma. Manual editing remains free and is always available.

Publishing and Exporting

Finished work can be shared as a link, published as a website or exported to PowerPoint and PDF. Plans above Plus add custom domains and URLs, detailed analytics, custom fonts and password protection. Gamma also offers an API for generating content from other systems, reported to be included from the Pro plan upward and to consume credits.

Facts, Brand Rules and Audience Fit Need a Person

The agent drafts and edits, but it does not know your numbers, your brand rules beyond what you give it, or your audience. Someone still checks facts, swaps in real charts and data, and decides when a deck is ready. It also does not act in other business systems; its output is the gamma itself.

Seats Plus Credits for Every AI Action

Gamma prices by seat and meters AI work in credits. Creating with AI, editing with the agent, adding AI cards, trying new layouts and generating images all use credits, and the cost varies with the action, the AI model and the length of the output. Credits come from three buckets: plan credits that refresh monthly, purchased credits that do not expire while your plan is active, and shared workspace credits on Business and Enterprise.

A Solo Consultant’s $216 Year and Credit Top-Ups

A solo consultant on Pro: $18 a month comes to $216 a year. If heavy agent editing burns through the allotment, two top-ups of 1,500 credits at the reported $6 each add $12 for that month.

A five-person marketing team on Team: five seats at $240 a year is $1,200 a year, or about $20 a seat a month. Every member added to the workspace is billed, so adding occasional viewers as editors raises the bill.

A 12-person sales team on Business: 12 seats at $480 a year is $5,760 a year. Because Business has a ten-seat minimum, the floor is $4,800 a year even for a smaller group.

Other costs to plan for mostly involve credits. Gamma says credit rates can change, and annual plans release credits monthly rather than all at once. If you cancel, the account drops to the free plan and credits above 400 are reported to be removed, including purchased and rollover credits. Refunds are reported only within three days of subscribing and below usage thresholds.

Gamma Agent Compared With Canva AI, Adobe Express AI Assistant, Genspark Super Agent and Skywork Super Agents

Gamma competes with two groups: design suites that added AI, and general agents that can also make slides.

AgentStarting PriceFree PlanMain StrengthMain Trade-OffBest For

Skywork Super AgentsFree; Pro about $19.99 a month (reported)YesResearch-backed slides with source tracingCredit costs per task not publishedAnalysts who need cited research decks

Gamma is the specialist here. Canva is the better pick when the deck is one of many brand assets, and Genspark or Skywork make sense when research is the hard part and slides are the output. For a pure presentation workflow, Gamma’s agent is the most direct path from notes to a finished deck. See more in our AI agents for design and AI productivity agents pages.

Founders, Consultants and Teachers Making Frequent Decks

  • Founders and consultants: pitch decks and client presentations come out designed from rough notes, and the free plan is enough to test the fit.
  • Teachers and trainers: lesson and workshop slides can be drafted from an outline or document and adjusted for different audiences.
  • Sales and marketing teams: Team and Business plans give shared workspaces, and agencies like Another Company report producing dozens of decks a day.
  • Anyone who needs a quick one-page site: the same agent can publish a gamma as a website, with custom domains on higher plans.

Brand Teams With Strict Templates and Office-Only Shops

  • Brand and design teams with strict templates: Figma, PowerPoint or Figma Design Agent give finer control over every element.
  • Organizations that must stay in Microsoft or Google formats: Gamma exports to PowerPoint, but the native format is Gamma’s own, and exported decks may need cleanup.
  • Teams that need print, video and social assets in one tool: Canva AI covers more formats.
  • Buyers who need fixed, predictable AI spend: credit costs vary by action and model and can change.

Undo Does Not Refund Credits and Rates Can Change

Credits are the main thing to watch. Agent edits, premium models and API calls use credits, and Gamma’s help center says rates are subject to change. Undoing a change does not restore the credits it used. Teams that iterate heavily on large decks should watch balances in the first month.

Billing rules are worth reading closely, according to third-party analysis of Gamma’s terms. Every workspace member is billed, removing someone mid-cycle does not cancel that month’s charge, Team and Business carry seat minimums, and there is no option to pause a plan. Downgrades take effect at the end of the billing period, and balances above the new plan’s rollover cap are lost.

Design control works differently from slide software. Gamma’s card-based layouts make good-looking output easy but leave less room for pixel-level adjustments. Decks that must match a corporate PowerPoint master may need to be rebuilt after export.

Finally, the agent writes confidently. Check every fact, number and claim in a generated deck before it reaches a client.

a16z Values Gamma at $2.1 Billion in November 2025

On November 10, 2025, Gamma announced a $68 million Series B at a $2.1 billion valuation led by Andreessen Horowitz, alongside passing $100 million in ARR. SiliconANGLE reported that the company had about 50 employees and that Gamma 3.0’s built-in design agent turns rough text, documents or links into presentations or websites within minutes.

In June 2026, an eesel analysis of Gamma’s pricing listed per-seat plans from $9 a month to $480 a year and flagged strict refund and seat rules.

Easy to Recommend for Frequent Presenters Without a Designer

For people who make presentations often and do not have a designer, Gamma Agent is one of the easiest tools to recommend. It starts free, it turns rough material into a finished deck quickly, and the company behind it is profitable with a very large user base. Paid seats are cheap at the low end.

The 8.2/10 on our scale reflects where Gamma could grow. Autonomy stops at the deck itself, more integrations with business tools would help, and clearer credit budgeting would make heavy use easier to plan. Start on the free plan, test the agent on a real deck, and move to Plus or Pro only once you know how many credits your editing habits consume.

Credit Use per Edit and PowerPoint Export

How Much Does Gamma Agent Cost?

The agent is part of every Gamma plan. The free plan includes 400 one-time credits, and paid seats are reported at $9 a month for Plus, $18 for Pro and $90 for Ultra, with Team and Business billed yearly at $240 and $480 per seat.

Does Gamma Agent Use Credits for Every Edit?

Editing with the agent uses credits, and smaller requests such as changing one slide generally use fewer than regenerating a whole gamma. Failed actions and clarifying questions are not charged, and manual edits are always free.

Can Gamma Agent Export to PowerPoint?

Yes. Gamma exports to PowerPoint and PDF on every plan, including the free plan. Exported decks may need some layout cleanup, since Gamma’s native format uses its own card-based design.

Is Gamma Agent Better Than Canva AI for Presentations?

For a full deck built from rough notes and edited by conversation, Gamma is more direct. Canva AI is stronger when the presentation is one of many brand assets, such as social graphics and print materials, that need the same templates.

What Happens to My Credits if I Cancel Gamma?

According to third-party analysis of Gamma’s terms, the account drops to the free plan with 400 credits, and anything above that, including purchased and rollover credits, is removed. Use or plan around your balance before cancelling.
