Sierra Interactive charges a flat $199 a month for Lead Engage with no cap on leads, but the add-on only runs on plans that start at $399.95 a month, so the real floor is $598.95 on annual billing. Lead Engage, also called Sierra AI, is a texting assistant inside Sierra’s CRM that qualifies buyers and sellers and nurtures them for up to a year, according to Sierra.
What Lead Engage Does
The assistant holds two-way SMS conversations around the clock with leads stored in the Sierra CRM. It asks about timeframe, budget, financing and whether the lead already has an agent, then keeps nurturing people who are not ready yet for up to 12 months from opt-in. It also works on cold leads already in the database, per Sierra’s help center.
Leads are enrolled through routing rules, a widget on the lead record or an automation action. When someone replies or shows strong intent, the assigned agent and managers get an alert, and every message is logged in the CRM. Sierra recommends a fast human handoff and lets teams pause the AI automatically on reply; it also pauses when a lead is reassigned. Managers get a stats report tracking five stages from enrollment to appointment set.
How Much Does Sierra AI Cost?
Sierra’s pricing page lists Lead Engage at $199 a month on the Essential plan ($399.95 a month billed annually, $474.95 monthly) and the Growth plan ($599.95 annually, $724.95 monthly). It is not offered on Starter. The setup guide adds that the $199 rate carries a 12-month commitment and excludes Dialer overages, because texts draw on the Dialer’s SMS segment allowance. The first message uses about six segments because of its required compliance language. Platform plans have a $500 setup fee on monthly billing, waived when paid annually upfront. There is a demo but no free trial.
What to Watch Out For
Lead Engage is text only, with no AI calling or email. Its scripts are pre-built and cannot be edited directly. Spanish works but is less complete than English. Undelivered texts are still billed, and the stats report is limited to managers with no native export.
