The Reputation Agent collects reviews and drafts and posts brand-approved replies, the Local Search Agent keeps listings current and publishes Google Posts, and the Social Agent runs local social. Sport Clips uses more than 3,400 agents across 1,800 locations to handle over 7,000 reviews a month, according to SOCi. Pricing is by quote.

It suits franchise systems and enterprise brands with hundreds or thousands of locations. Smaller businesses will find it more than they need. We rate it 8.3/10 on our scale, with high marks for autonomy, security certifications and thousands of user reviews.

These are vendor-published results, and they share a pattern: the biggest gains come from volume. Clearing 107,000 old reviews or answering 7,000 a month at Sport Clips is work a central team could not do by hand. A brand weighing SOCi should estimate its own monthly review volume per location and the hours spent replying today.

Response time results stand out across the cases. Moving from 10.5 days to under 24 hours on social engagement, or cutting review reply time by 55%, changes what a customer sees when they check a location online.

ISO/IEC 42001 is less common than SOC 2. It is a management standard for AI systems, which gives procurement teams a framework for reviewing how SOCi governs its agents.

Inside SOCi’s Per-Location Agent Model

SOCi’s design gives each location its own agents, not one central bot. The steps below follow SOCi’s launch post and Genius AI page.

Onboarding and Autonomy Settings

During onboarding, each agent learns the brand’s guidelines and which decisions it may make alone. SOCi says the agents learn when they need to check with a human first. Customers set the autonomy level, so a brand can start with drafts that a person approves and move routine replies to full automation later.

Genius Reputation Agent

The Reputation Agent collects reviews from the major platforms and drafts brand-approved responses. It escalates sensitive cases to a human according to the client’s guidelines. SOCi’s page shows a draft response matching brand tone, ready to deploy. At high volume, this agent works through backlogs that build up when locations fall behind.

Genius Local Search Agent

The Local Search Agent handles local SEO. It optimizes listing details and local pages across locations and publishes localized Google Posts. Kumon Learning Centers saw an average rise of six positions in Google search rank within 30 days, according to SOCi.

Genius Social Agent

The Social Agent plans, publishes and manages social media for each location. It fills content calendars and drafts personalized replies to comments and messages. SOCi reports that a hotel management group cut its engagement response time from 10.5 days to under 24 hours.

Local Pages, Ads and Survey Skills

Beyond the three named agents, SOCi lists Local Pages, Ads and Boost, and Surveys as agents and skills. Local pages give each location its own web page for search, ads and boosts promote local posts, and surveys collect feedback that can feed review requests. Brands can ask which of these come in a given bundle.

Measuring Results Location by Location

Because agents work per location, results can be compared per location too. Useful measures are reviews per month, average rating, reply time, share of replies escalated, Google ranking in the local 3-pack and social response rate. SOCi’s case results use the same measures, such as Liberty Tax’s 3-pack share and Kumon’s social response rate, which makes it easier to set targets for a pilot.

A Franchise Example

A 600-location fitness franchise sets brand voice and escalation rules at headquarters: injury claims, billing disputes and staff complaints go to the location owner; everything else is handled by agents. In the first week, owners approve every reply. After a month, headquarters moves positive and neutral reviews to automatic posting. The Local Search Agent posts each location’s class schedule changes to Google, and the Social Agent shares local promotions. Headquarters reviews the exceptions report weekly and adjusts the rules when owners flag replies they would have written differently.

Working Through a Review Backlog

Some brands carry years of unanswered reviews. SOCi’s Southern Rock Restaurant case shows the Reputation Agent clearing more than 107,000 historical reviews within weeks. A backlog project needs its own rules: whether to reply to reviews older than a year, how to handle complaints about staff who have left, and whether to post generic thanks on old five-star reviews or skip them. Set those rules before turning the agent loose, and sample its replies daily during the cleanup.

What People Still Do

People set rules, handle escalations, approve big content changes and check performance. Owners or managers also follow up offline with customers whose complaints the agent escalated, and they feed back fixes, such as a corrected opening time, so the Local Search Agent can update listings. SOCi frames the agents as a workforce that handles volume while marketers set strategy and oversight.

Costs Beyond the Quote

The license is one cost. Internal time is another: writing brand guidelines, deciding escalation topics, training franchise owners and reviewing agent replies in the early weeks. Franchise systems also need to agree on who pays, headquarters or each location, which affects how the deal is structured.

Building a Business Case for SOCi

Since prices are quoted, build the case from your own numbers. Take monthly reviews per location, multiply by the minutes a manager spends on each reply, and add listing and social hours. SOCi’s Rita’s Italian Ice example, 10 hours a week down to 5 minutes a day, shows the scale of change it claims. At 10 hours a week, a manager spends about 43 hours a month; at 5 minutes a day over 30 days, about 2.5 hours. Put a cost on those hours across all locations and compare it with the quote.

  • Ask for: per-location monthly price, agent and skill bundles, onboarding fees and contract length.
  • Confirm: how autonomy levels are set per location and who can change them.
  • Request: the SOC 2 report and ISO/IEC 42001 certificate for procurement.

SOCi Genius Agents Compared With Birdeye AI Agents, Uberall UB-I and Yext Scout

Several platforms now sell agents for multi-location brands.

Uberall UB-IIncluded in Uberall plansNoHuman-in-the-loop by default with approval chainsUberall plans are quotedRetail, hospitality and auto brands
Yext ScoutSee Yext listingNoSearch and listings visibilityReviews are one part of the suiteSearch-focused brands

SOCi’s per-location model and adjustable autonomy fit franchise systems well, where each owner wants control over their location. Birdeye has broader integrations and messaging. Uberall’s UB-I starts with approvals on by default. For restaurants, Momos is another option. Yext Scout sits closer to search and listings, so brands that already run listings through Yext may prefer to add review agents there. The deciding questions are usually how much control franchise owners need, which platform already holds location data, and how each vendor prices per location. Brands That Fit SOCi Genius Agents

  • Franchise systems: per-location agents and owner escalations match how franchises run.
  • Restaurant, fitness, tax and education chains: SOCi’s published results come from brands such as Southern Rock Restaurant, Liberty Tax, Kumon and Sport Clips.
  • Brands with review backlogs: the Reputation Agent has cleared large historical backlogs.
  • Procurement teams that require AI governance standards: ISO/IEC 42001 gives them something to review.
  • Central marketing teams stretched across many markets: agents handle local posting and replies while the team sets strategy.

Businesses That May Prefer Another Review Agent

  • Single-location businesses: NiceJob or Cloutly offer simpler setups.
  • Buyers who need a posted price: SOCi quotes every deal.
  • Teams with little time to learn a new platform: G2 reviewers mention a learning curve.

Governance and Platform Considerations for SOCi

Data access is part of the setup. Agents need permission to post on each location’s Google Business Profile and social accounts, and franchise owners sometimes hold those logins themselves. Collect access early, record who owns each account, and plan for owners who change or sell their location.

Autonomy is a dial, and it should move slowly. Start with approvals on for every location, review a sample of agent replies each week, and widen automation by review type. Keep sensitive categories, such as health, safety or legal claims, on escalation permanently.

G2 reviewers report occasional posting issues and say navigation can feel clunky. Test the scheduling of posts across time zones during a pilot, since Capterra reviewers mention posts publishing a few hours off schedule.

Multi-language brands should test replies in each language they serve. SOCi’s pages describe brand tone and rules, and a pilot is the place to check that a Spanish or French reply sounds as natural as an English one.

Franchise agreements may set rules on who speaks for a location online. Agree with franchisees on what the agents may post in their name and how owners can override a reply.

SOCi Genius Agents Since Launch

On July 7, 2025, SOCi introduced Genius Agents as an AI workforce for multi-location marketing, with Search, Social and Reputation agents and early customer results from Kumon and Southern Rock Restaurant. Its Genius AI page now adds results from Sport Clips, Liberty Tax and Rita’s Italian Ice, and lists SOC 2 and ISO/IEC 42001 certifications.

How SOCi Genius Agents Score for Reputation Work

SOCi Genius Agents score 8.3/10 on our scale. Autonomy, trust and user sentiment score high: agents run per location with customer-set autonomy, SOCi holds two certifications, and thousands of reviews average 4.5 out of 5. Pricing value and setup score lower because pricing is quoted and onboarding is sales-led. Integrations sit in the middle because the Genius AI page does not name them.

SOCi’s published results come from well-known chains, and the per-location model is built for them. Smaller brands can get similar features with less setup elsewhere, so SOCi makes the most sense once a brand has enough locations that central reply work no longer scales.

For a franchise brand, ask SOCi for a pilot across 20 to 50 locations with different review volumes, and measure reply time, escalation rate and owner satisfaction. A six to eight week pilot gives enough reviews to judge reply quality and enough time to move some locations to higher autonomy.

Franchise Marketers’ Questions About SOCi Genius Agents
